Work Text:
Jules came back from her day at work to the smell of... Brownies?
She cautiously walked into the apartment and the smell hit her full force. She had to suppress a gag- It was a good smell, to be clear. She loved a good brownie, but this was excessive.
Before she could ask what the fuck was happening, her eyes landed on Rue, who had her hair tied up in a bun and who was pulling a pan of brownies out of the oven. That wouldn't be too weird if it weren't for the fact that there were five other pans of brownies on the counter.
"Rue, what's going on?"
"Do you want a brownie?" Rue asked, gesturing to the counter full of brownies. Jules chuckled awkwardly. Rue had a very specific look in her eye. Jules knew that look.
"Rue, are you having a manic episode?"
"Maybe" Rue shrugged. She frowned for just a moment before her giddy expression returned. "Who cares? I feel great!"
"Okay, Rue" Jules smiled, walking over to her girlfriend and placing her hands on her shoulders. "You do realize you made six pans of brownies, right?"
"Yeah, do you want one?"
"Rue" Jules said firmly. Rue sighed indignantly and stared at her. "I understand you feel really good right now, and I'm not trying to make you feel bad for it because I know you can't control it, but I need you to at least acknowledge that you're manic right now"
"Okay yeah, sure, I'm manic, whatever" Rue said. "Do you want a brownie?"
"Sure" Jules replied, kissing the girl on the nose. Rue laughed and shoved a brownie in the blonde's mouth, much to Jules' surprise because she hadn't been expecting it.
This is going to be an... Interesting few days, Jules thought to herself as Rue pranced away to their bed and flopped down. The brownie is good though.
