She turned her gaze back to Shikamaru. “He made it worth it.”
“He did,” Shikamaru agreed. Shikadai made everything worth it – every struggle, every heartache, every moment. “But you still like me, too, right?”
“I love you more than words could describe,” Temari grinned widely, throwing a glance at Shikadai. “But I’d kill you in a heartbeat for that kid.”
Shikamaru put an arm around her shoulders, smiling softly at his son. He was saying something to Inojin and Chocho, gesturing and grinning. He was starting to look so mature and grown up, ready to be handed the future.
Shikamaru held Temari closer. “I’d expect nothing less from you.”

—Parece factible —aseguró Shikamaru.
—Y quiero que me escribas tus propios votos —añadió Temari—. Porque la última vez usamos los votos Suna.
“¿Escribirías algo para mí también?” preguntó.
—Por supuesto. Lo justo es justo. —Pensó un momento y luego preguntó—: ¿Qué quieres?
Shikamaru enroscó sus dedos en su cabello. “Todo lo que necesito eres tú”.
