Silence is loud, Wendy never truly believed that notion could be possible but after raising a child she had come to know better. Today was the day her sweet daughter Judo needed to head back to her Jonathan ex-husband's house. These nights always were the hardest, having to get used to being alone in this home she used to share with her family. When they were whole and happy. Silence is loud and she hated loud things.
The Chow-Chow turned over to face her dresser, seeing her phone on her nightstand, she scooted closer lifting her hand, and picked up her phone. She opened the device, closing her eyes from the intense brightness which she quickly turned down. She glanced at the time seeing that it was close to 11 pm, she was very lucky she was off work tomorrow. However, that didn’t help how she was feeling if she did have work she would be able to force herself to sleep but she doesn’t so her mind didn’t have any incentive to sleep.
Wendy scrolled mindlessly on her phone, opening, and closing apps before she opened her messages and felt herself struggle as she stared at Chilli’s name, staring at one of her close friends and someone she had come to love, she envied Bandit for a long while, envied him for so long that she started to see why Chilli fell in love with him. When she had come to that realization, the chow-chow had laughed in her solitude, laughed and laughed until the laughter became sobs and tears flowed from her eyes as she hated her heart for loving two people who were already together and never had a chance to be with.
Wendy started to write a message, it was long, it was detailed, it included everything she wanted to say to Chilli, and her thumb hovered over the send button. This wasn’t the first time she had done this kind of thing, confessing her feelings in a long detailed text. In the end, it always ended the same, she just deleted the message and this time was no different…
She closed her phone and placed it back on her nightstand, closing her eyes to get sleep hopefully.
*Bzz Bzz*
Chilli
Hey Wendy, would you be up for sleeping over at ours tonight?
Wendy’s eyes widened and she quickly shot up out of her bed, in the process her phone flew out of her hand and across the room which led to her also going after said phone and hoping she didn’t misread that text as well as hoping she didn’t break her phone.
Perhaps the chow-chow may just get what she wants.

“Bandit! W-w -why!?” Chilli could do nothing as she stared at the text her husband had sent, she tried to grab the phone back but it was pulled back and she was met with tired eyes.
“Chilli, do you love her?”
The Red Cattle dog stopped trying to reach for her phone as she noticed how serious Bandit was being, she could feel her exhaustion coming into effect and sighed. “...Yes, yes I-I love her so much and I’m so so sorry Bandit, I still love you and I just, just.” Chili babbled on.
Bandit gave her a small boop on the nose before smiling at her then quickly leaned over and gave his wife a peck on the cheek while letting out a snicker at the surprised look on her face “What? I love her too, you don’t think I’d let anyone use my money and drive the car? Might have had the girls with me but if it were anyone else, I’d definitely stop the game and drive them there myself”
The phone buzzed in his hand and saw the message back
Wendy-
What about Bluey and Bingo?
Bandit read the message before handing it over to Chilli who shakingly took it and looked at her husband…Who was already lying down and moving to the furthest spot on his side to make more room?
“Babe, what are you doing?”
“Making space for Wendy because I am not having her sleep downstairs and I feel she’d like to be in the middle, we can talk arrangements if she agrees to be with us. Now answer her question and get her over here. I want to catch up on sleep while we still can” He grumbled before closing his eyes.
Chilli huffed but couldn’t help but be thankful for her husband. Usually, she was the one to be confident and assured but this situation was new and they had talked about the possibility of opening up their relationship to a third but no one had piqued their interest until they had met Wendy.
Chilli shook her head before looking down at her phone with determination and quickly texted back
Chilli-
Bluey and Bingo had a very active day and fell asleep in an instant on their beds after coming back from spending time with Stripe and Trixie so you’re good to come over. If you want to that is! Don’t want to force you, I’ll be waiting on the porch.
With that message written out and sent, the red Heeler got out of bed and slipped into some slippers and one of Bandit’s coats, tonight was a bit chilly and she’d rather not open the door unprepared.
Chili now dressed somewhat, made her way downstairs, hoping the chow-chow would indeed come over.

Wendy gulped as she read over the message repeatedly, praying she wasn’t seeing things but the message was real, it was indeed there. Chilli asked if she wanted to sleep over and perhaps she’d be sleeping on the couch or a spare room but she didn’t care, she just needed to get out of this quiet house. She didn’t even question why Chilli was up and decided to send that text, she was tired and lonely and one of the people she loved was freely offering something that could fix one of her problems.
So the chow-chow was quick to put on some slippers before walking down the stairs and quickly headed outside, slightly regretting how quick she was because it felt utterly freezing, feeling that icy wind blowing through her fur felt chilling. She would have gone back inside to get a jacket but seeing the light on the porch caused every rational thought to fly out the window and she quickly made her way to the Heeler’s residents. Besides she had some good fur, and she could last getting over to the heeler’s porch
It only took a couple of seconds at best but it felt like minutes when she finally made it to the door and felt joy that it only took one knock for the door to open and was met with a tired Chilli who wore a joyful smile which quickly turned to concern once she saw the state of the chow-chow.
“Oh my goodness, Wendy come in, come in!”
The chow-chow was quickly pulled into the house as well as warm arms, she did her best to not react too openly about how much she loved being held by the Heeler.
“Sorry Darling, seems I underestimated how cold it was outside” She gave a nervous chuckle as she tried her best to draw in the warmth from the other dog who wasn’t pulling away and she was thankful.
“Oh I can see that, come on let’s get you warmed up, I have the perfect spot for us” She smiled while leading the chow-chow towards the living room and right towards the stairs.
“Chilli, I’m guessing you set up a guest room upstairs finally?” Wendy knew that there was an unused room in the house, she never asked about it much but knew it was filled with baby items, she guessed they must have finally cleaned it out and turned it into a proper guest room.
Chilli just stayed silent and went past the hallway that held the girl's room and the guest room and took the chow-chow straight to their bedroom. She looked at Wendy with a smile and put a hand on the door but waited as she could feel the other tensing up.
“D-darling maybe you’re more tired than I thought, we must have passed.” She stammered over her words as she didn’t want to believe that this was happening, she didn’t dare hope that Chilli and Bandit were okay with this.
“Wendy I know what I’m doing, I want this and so does Bandit. We can talk more in the morning. For now, would you do us the honor of filling a spot in our bed?” Chilli opened the door and offered for the chow-chow to go inside first.
There was some hesitation, but Wendy wouldn’t allow this to pass. if they changed their mind in the morning, it’d be fine, but for now, she’d take full advantage of being near the two people who captured her heart. So she took some steps into the room and was met with some slight snoring, she giggled quietly as she saw Bandit’s sleeping figure and for once there wasn’t complete silence and she loved it.
Chilli walked in behind her, closing the door before taking the chow-chow over to the bed, allowing her to get in at her own pace. She hesitated for a couple of seconds but the chowchow had finally gotten into the bed, she had some trouble deciding on how to lie but then decided she’d have her back toward Bandit. She jumped slightly when she felt Bandit wrap his hands around her waist and pull closer but didn’t move away, she enjoyed how warm and soft Bandit felt.
“I see you found the heater I was talking about” Chilli whispered before climbing into the bed and facing Wendy, making sure she scooted close but left enough space so the Chow Chow would still be comfortable..
Wendy giggled quietly once again and nodded “Yes, it seems I have and I must say that this is an excellent heater” She had one hand on Bandit’s arm that was wrapped around her waist and used the other one to do the same to Chilli.
“I’m happy you like him and I’m really happy you decided to take us up on sleeping in the same bed and not yelling and ending our friendship” Chilli moved her face a bit closer to Wendy’s, happy that lasting mint was covering up her bad breath.
Wendy saw the movement and she slowly moved closer as well as she spoke “Oh Chilli I’d never do something like that, I lo-”
“If you two don’t wait until the morning to confess then I will let out a fluffy right here and now. This is the time of sleep, we can all talk about how much we love each other and smoochy-kiss all we want in the morning as well as make a plan on what we’ll tell the kids. For now, it’s sleep time!”
The two had jumped slightly as Bandit’s voice interrupted their conversation and both blushed at his bluntness.
“Very smooth Romeo but guess he’s right a bit here. Though next time we can just take out little confessions elsewhere” Chili offered Wendy a mischievous. Bandit just grumbled before burying his face into the Chow Chow’s fur, causing Wendy and Chilli to giggle before deciding to take Bandit’s advice and cuddle close.
Wendy smiled as she felt warmth all around and enjoyed the snores coming from both the dogs she loved. She didn’t know what she did to get this lucky but she thanked whatever higher power that allowed her to have this moment and hopefully many more with these two.

To the disappointment of Wendy morning soon arrived, birds were singing and the rising sun peaked over the horizon, shining into the Heeler bedroom. The Chowchow was usually an early riser along with being a rather light sleeper, she always got up early to start on her stretches before going on to do her pilates.
Today was different though because she didn’t want to get up, which was good since she was currently being sandwiched by Chili and Bandit. The Chow Chow was in absolute heaven at this situation, she pulled Chili closer to her while leaning more into Bandit’s touch, she didn’t want to let either of the two go. She felt loved, she felt wanted and she didn’t want those feelings to go away so Wendy kept her eyes closed enjoying the warmth and love.
Unfortunately, things couldn’t last like this forever. A small groan erupted from behind the Chowchow before it was followed up with some movement. Wendy could feel Bandit’s arms moving feeling his hands slip away from her waist, the chow-chow very much didn’t like this, she didn’t want this perfect moment to end. Wendy moved a hand that was around Chili towards Bandit's hand and grabbed it to stop him.
Bandit was still doing his best to keep his eyes open and get his brain up and running. Feeling someone grab his hand, it felt very different from Chili which caused him to pause with thoughts running through his head before he remembered that they did indeed have someone new in their bed and it’s their neighbor Wendy.
The Blue Heeler gave a soft tug on his hand to try and free it but the Chow-Chow’s grip was firm, a slight rumble escaped from Wendy as she turned her head as far as she could to give Bandit a side eye, there was annoyance in her eyes but also a plea for him to stay. Bandit smiled at her before leaning forward, planting a soft kiss on her forehead which shocked her enough to allow him to free his hand.
It took only a few seconds for Wendy to realize before she huffed and turned back over to cuddle Chili “Cheater” she whispered only loud enough for Bandit to hear which only caused the Blue Heeler to hold back a bark of laughter “Good morning to you as well Wendy”
“Mmphm” The Chow Chow huffed, she wasn’t truly upset with Bandit but she’d still let it be known how much she’d wanted him to stay.
“Oh don’t be like that Wendy, I’m just going to get cleaned up then put on some breaky for us all. We all need to eat” He gave the chowchow a knowing look when he heard the faint sound of her stomach growling “See even your body agrees. So any request my dear?”
“...Pancakes…With extra fluff and slaty butter on the top as well as some scrambled eggs with some chopped onions if you have any” She mumbled with slight embarrassment her meal choice would probably be a subvert of expectations from the way she looked.
Bandit nodded and leaned over giving her another kiss on her temple “Alrighty love I’ll be sure to whip up some mean pancakes and eggs for ya. For now, keep resting and keep Chilli company and in bed” He caressed Wendy’s cheek, feeling only love and adoration for her as he watched her lean into her touch.
“Okay but that Breeky better be good…I also want another kiss later” She had been confident in the first part of her sentence but became more meek when she added that last bit, wondering if she was pushing things too far and fast but seeing Bandit let out a quiet bark of laughter caused that worry to leave her chest
“You got it, Ms.Chow”
Wendy let out a soft giggle as she watched Bandit give a salute to her before watching him walk away into the bathroom. It didn’t take long for her to start hearing the shower turn on.
With Bandit out of bed, Wendy went back to cuddling the other Heeler in the bed but was met with a tired but very wide-grinning Chilli
“Oh Good morning Chilli, we didn’t wake you up did we?”
Chilli couldn’t help but shake her head with a grin “No no it’s fine. I usually wake up earlier than this sometimes because on some days I get called into work. Besides I’m glad to be awake, I got to see my favorite dogs interacting in a way I’ve only dreamed of.” She responded in a soft but tired voice, she was also doing her best to shield Wendy from her morning breath, she wasn’t naive in the fact that it smelled when first waking up.
Wendy had still caught hints of her breath and while it did smell, she had smelt worse “I know what you’re doing darling and it’s okay. Nothing will ever come close to getting me after changing Judo for those puppy years. I am happy you approve of what we did”
“Oh Wendy of course I approve. I didn’t get to say it last night but I truly do love you and so does Bandit. We both love you a lot and we want you in our lives, we’re happy together of course but we would be even happier if we could share it with you. You’re so kind and helpful and that day you brought over so many lasagna for me while you were still going on with Judo yourself meant a lot.” She had leaned up a bit more, grabbing the Chow Chow’s hands and bringing them close as she spoke to her “ I want you to understand though that you don’t have to accept what Bandit and I want. We would love you in any capacity and if you feel you aren’t ready for a relationship like ours then that’s okay. We’ll respect is as well as wait if you ever do want to be with us the way we are with each other”
Wendy could feel her eyes sting a bit as she listened to Chilli’s words and couldn’t help but move closer, the lips inching closer to one another “I-I don’t know if I’m fully ready to take the chance with something as serious as what you and Bandit want but I do know I want it eventually, so please wait for me?” the desperation in her voice was clear and raw, she wanted this so badly but she still needed time to process it. She’s scared though, even with confirmation from Chilli herself, she was still scared she would lose this opportunity.
“For you, we’ll wait as long as you need us to”
That was all Wendy needed before she leaned forward and kissed the Red Heeler and felt a rush of pure euphoria when Chilli kissed her back. It wasn’t anything sexual, there were no tongues, no swapping saliva, no grabbing each other and deepening the kiss. No this was a kiss just filled with love and Wendy loved it and Chilli is in the same boat.
This is what Wendy needed, she was never a fan of loud sounds, especially when it comes from silence but how she’s feeling, her heart pounding and her thoughts running through her head. She could get used to this kind of loud.
