Maybe, if.

Summary:

I don’t know how to summarize this.

Work Text:

Mitsuki Bakugo had never claimed to be the perfect mother.
She’s temperamental and not overly caring, she’d never thought about how that would affect her child.
Katsuki, her little spitfire.
She had loved him the moment he was placed in her arms, she had sworn she would raise him to be the best.
She did, or so she thought.
Katsuki grew up to be confident and loud with an explosive temper just the same as mitsuki had when she was his age.
She never knew about the bullying, the bullying that Katsuki started against his own childhood best friend.
She never knew about his debilitating self confidence issues, his inferiority complex.
Maybe Katuski was just good at hiding his emotions…or maybe she just never bothered to check in on him.
Maybe if she did, it wouldn’t have happened.

Masaru Bakugo tried his best.
But being surrounded by two temperamental people often left him in the background.
He loves his wife and son but he's a bystander to their harsh way of love.
He really did try to show his love to his son, but trying to get through to him emotionally was like trying to break through a cement wall quirkless and without a tool.
It was easier when he was young but as he grew so did his ego and his pride, resulting in them having a rather distant relationship.
Masaru wanted to know what was going on in his son's head, he really did try to.
But his attempts were futile,
He wishes he had pushed more, if he had maybe this wouldn't have happened.

Izuku Midoriya is an observant young boy.
He’s stellar at analysis and he loves learning new things and observing the world around him (especially heroes).
But more specifically, Kacchan..
From a very young age he had started idolising him.
The sheer confidence he had, even at the age of 5 was inspiring to him.
The idolization was always a factor of his life, even when kacchan started bullying him.
He was scared of kacchan, that was true, but he still looked up to him and his strength.
Being who he is he noticed something was off with bakugou, but surely it wasn't a big deal.
Bakugou is strong, he can do anything, he can power through any issue.
….Right?
Maybe if Izuku had checked on him regardless of the fact he'd get shouted at, it wouldn't have happened.
Maybe if he was brave enough to push him everything would be okay.

Katsuki bakugo has been troubled for a while.
Thats all there is to it, he hates himself even if he acts like he doesn't.
No one needs to know, no one would care, he’s just an asshole after all.
Its embarrassing that he wants a hug from his mom, the old hag is annoying but Katsuki can't remember the last time she hugged him.
Why does that make him sad? their relationship just isn’t like that.
He could hug his dad but that would just make his old man worried. And then he’d probably cry because he’s emotional like that, kind of like deku.
Deku…
He has complicated feelings related to the nerd.
Nothing he likes to dwell on, he doesn't know why the nerd still tries to be nice to him.
He doesn't deserve that, sometimes he thinks its because deku is looking down on him but deep down he knows that deku is just painfully nice.
And he himself is weak compared to him, even if deku was not the successor to all might.
Deku is everything he is not and that pisses him off, it hurts.
Those thoughts are what brought him to the roof hes currently on.
His shoes removed and set to the side, he stares down at the concrete below.
Its morbidly funny that at some point he had told deku to take a swan dive off of a roof and now here he is, about to do that himself.
He hears a door open and a shout of his name, it sounds like Deku, he doesnt turn around, all he says is an only just audible ‘sorry’.

He then throws himself off of the roof.

Maybe if people had tried to look past his aggressive and prickly demeanour this wouldn't have happened.

But what would they know?
What could they possibly do?
Because Katuski is already dead.
