She’d heard stories from the men in Torrent when she asked around about how he operated, and it seemed a lot more strict than Rex and Anakin’s usual policies. Fives claimed that when he and Echo first started out Commander Cody used to visit and make them run laps until they almost passed out. Tup said that he heard from one of the 212th shinies that the Commander hated Jedi, and was only putting up with Obi-Wan because he had to. Jesse told her that he would drill new recruits for up to ten hours at a time, putting them through physical and mental hell for a week straight until he was satisfied with their performance.
Rex had just laughed.

Cody was…well he was Cody. Obi-Wan had never quite been able to puzzle him out.
He was firm and unforgiving on the battlefield and among the bureaucrats. He had a sharp tongue that he kept hidden behind his teeth and a wit that could keep up with even Master Yoda. He was bold, courageous, loving, and so afraid. He hated war and yet knew nothing else. He loved his brothers and yet refused to mourn when they died. He was an excellent teacher but refused to extend his knowledge to any outside of the vode. He was one of the saddest men Obi-Wan had ever met and still he shone brightly in the Force, radiant with joy and compassion.
It was no surprise that Obi-Wan fell for him.

I love how obiwan and Cody's relationship is depected in this. They fight and they are hurt and they love each other so much but are scared it's so good
