Work Text:
After the burrow's collapse and Kipo's disappearance, Asher had been at a loss.
Walking through tunnels for days and nights without their best friend to accompany them was hard. Especially when there was no way to make sure that Kipo was safe.
Asher wanted to believe that Kipo was safe, somewhere on the surface. They wanted to believe that Kipo was just waiting for the right time to come back. Maybe she was trying to make her way over to Site B?
But the more days that went by, the more Asher started to believe that Kipo wasn't going to return. No human survived on the surface. That's what everyone said.
Even Dahlia started to lose hope, about a week after the burrow's collapse. Nobody wanted to say it, but Kipo was probably dead. Asher didn't want to accept it, but they knew that they had to come in terms with the truth.
But in the end, they didn't have to.
Kipo returned, in one piece and with a bunch of tales to tell about her time on the surface. Asher was relieved that their best friend was safe and sound.
They swore to themselves to never leave her side again.
