Percy woke up submerged in the ocean with no memory of how he had gotten there. This was not out of the ordinary. the ginormous sea monster that was playing with his feet however that was a little strange. Not there was a sea creature but the fact that he had no idea which kind it was.
Percy didn’t brag but as the son of Poseidon, he knew sea creatures and this one was nothing like anything he had ever seen on Earth. It was a deep-sea green colour it was the size of a sea cow, and it looked like a giant fish. “Hello, I’m Percy what is your name?” he asked it.
it stared at him with one eye “The humans speak our language?” it asked him.
If he was already unsure if was on earth this would only confirm his suspicion most animals in the ocean knew who he was courtesy of being the son of a sea god. “I can speak with all creatures of the sea” he answered it.
This seemed to excite the fish beast. “Oh please can you help me my baby is stuck, and I can’t get him out.” It was swimming in circles around him which was slightly intimidating given its size.
Also, Percy was pretty sure he had been turned into a child. and this time he was younger than nine which he was less than happy about, to say the least.
Percy helped it out. Of course, he did his mother had taught him kindness and letting a kid be stuck in a bad situation.
After he had helped the fish, they showed him in the direction of a ship. It was a spaceship that was the first thing he noticed it looked kind of like something from Star Wars.
He swam over to a window that was visible from the water and looked directly into the back of a little green frog man. He looked like Yoda. He looked up from the green man and locked eyes with a tall black man who looked a lot like Samuel L. Jackson, who if Percy wasn’t wrong also was in Star Wars. Which also meant that the green thing was definitely Yoda.
This was probably the time when a normal person would conclude that they were dreaming. But Percy was a demigod, and his dreams were a lot weirder than this. This meant that the only possibility was that he had been reincarnated into the Star Wars universe.
Shit his fiancé was going to kill him. He had promised Annabeth that he would stay out of trouble till after the wedding.
He had proposed right after they both graduated, they had both survived long for demigods and Percy didn’t want to waste any more time.
“I do love nothing in the world as well as you. Is not that strange?” he had told her. It was a quote from Much Ado about nothing which had been her favorite Shakespeare play since high school.
She had laughed and then he had gone down on one knee. She had laughed then too but there were happy tears in her eyes. She had already said yes before he could ask the question.
He hadn’t needed to. She could always read his thoughts it was a bit unnerving sometimes but in a truly wonderful way it was lovely to be known so deeply by another person.
But she wanted to be married in a more symbolic sense than practical. Annabeth wanted to keep herself as far away from Hera as they could.
And she wanted Percy to survive to be alive for their wedding day which Percy hadn’t thought was a big ask but evidently, he had been wrong.
What would Annabeth do? She would probably bury her grief down well and do her very best to ignore it.
He loved her but sometimes she was a bit bad at the feeling’s thing. Which wasn’t her fault, but Percy had been raised by Sally Jackson and he had learned that you had to confront your feelings before they exploded. And because he was a son of Poseidon, they might very well explode in a more literal sense.
But right now, he needed to react to the man who was knocking on the window and gesturing for him to swim op. he guessed that they wanted to talk.
…
Yoda introduced himself as Yoda and Samuel L. Jackson introduced himself as Mace Windu. Percy had a feeling that these weird names would for sure be a problem for him.
They were Jedi and they were here to research a spike in the force coming from the ocean apparently.
Shit that might have been him Percy thought.
“Strong with the force you are young one” Yoda said.
Percy looked down on himself his five-year-old body didn’t seem that impressive.
“Thank you?”
“where are your parents young one.” Mace Windu asked.
“I don’t have any” Percy explained. He missed his mom. Being this young was giving him serious flashbacks to Hebe Jeebies and he didn’t like it.
The two Jedi were having a conversation with only their eyes.
“Would you like to go back with us to the Jedi temple?” Mace Windu asked.
His mother had always told him about stranger danger but he knew who they he had seen Star Wars even if he didn’t remember it that well.
“Sure,” he told him.
First, they had to finish their mission for which Percy stayed on the ship.
When they were finally done they flew back to the Jedi temple where Percy was directed to the creche.
At first, he thought he would be bored but it was actually pretty nice to be a kid again but this time without the monsters.
He still missed his family and friends, but he would survive.
………
Mace knew from the first time he saw him that Percy would be a challenge. He was unruly, he talked back, and he didn’t trust most authority figures. But while living with the Jedi he had proved that he was worth it he was kind he was brave and also despite what many thought he was clever.
It had taken much meditation on the matter, but he knew that he should be his Jedi master. There had been scepticism when he had informed the council. But not much he suspected it might be because everyone else was happy they wouldn’t have to train him.
Was he going to regret this? Probably he hadn’t planned to have another Padawan for a few years but sometimes fate sneaks up on you. Or in this case, his new padawan if he accepted it.
He smiled down at the little boy “Hello Percy. I have a very important question for you.”
“I haven’t done anything” the boy exclaimed.
He chuckled. “I’m not accusing you of anything,” he put his hand on the boy’s shoulder.” As you know you will be thirteen soon and it’s about time that you find a Jedi master.”
Percy looked down. “Yes, I know, I’m working on it”
“Actually, I wanted to ask you if you wanted to be by Padawan?”
The boy raised an eyebrow at him. “Really… are you sure?”
“Absolutely.”
At that answer, his frown changed to a blinding smile. “Yeah sure,” he said “I’ll be your Padawan
They moved him into his room and the boy seemed to barely be containing his happiness another thing he would learn about him his happiness was catching.
Mace made dinner he had never been an amazing cook, but Percy still politely ate it good he thought that was a skill he would need if they were ever forced to taste Yoda’s stew.
Still the next day he found Percy up early making breakfast. He would have been worried, but it looked like he was doing pretty good actually.
“You don’t have to make breakfast your job is to learn young one.”
But Percy simply smiled “I wake up early naturally and I like cooking.”
When he finally tasted what Percy had made, he had to eat his words it was simply the best thing he had ever tasted.
“This is really good, who taught you to cook?”
His Padawan only smiled wistfully “I learned before I came to the temple.” Mace had a hard time imagining a five-year-old cooking, but anything was possible he supposed.
It wasn’t long before they were called on a mission again.
It was a joined mission with Qui Gon and his Padawan really it was a way for the counsel to get some insight into how Obi-wan was doing there had been some issues at the start of their parentship and the counsel wanted to make sure they were both okay.
They were accompanying the senator of Naboo to a meeting with some of the outer planets and he wanted protection in case there were any problems. The outings were trampled with pirates so it was understandable.
Mace Windu would be lying if he said he liked politicians. He tolerated them and he recognized their importance. But Percy seemed to hate them with a passion. So maybe it wasn’t the best idea for a first mission.
But he believed in the boy. He was unpredictable but he was also swift and agile and his connection to the force was strong the good outweighed the bad.
“This is Percy.” He introduced him to the two Jedi.
Qui-Gon smiled. “Well met young one.”
Percy nodded in greeting.
“This is Obi-Wan Kenobi he’s my Padawan he’s a bit older than you but maybe you can learn something from him.”
“We’ve already met.” Obi-Wan grimaced.
Percy smiled mischievously which probably meant he had been a menace, but it was their business and Mace believed in letting his Padawans fight their own battles if he had a problem, he would come to him.
“Our main priority will be the protection of the senator but when we arrive Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan have another mission they need to deal with.” He got a questioning look from Percy and he sent back a look that hopefully assured him that he would explain later
They arrived on the planet surrounded by trees they needed to get to the base.
“Percy, Obi-Wan I want you to go inside and get our bags we’ll need to walk.”
Percy sighed like he wanted to disagree, but he evidently pushed the instinct down and did what he was told.
They walked a bit in front to see if they could see some kind of indicator of where they were going but before they had even taken more than ten steps they were surrounded.
They were trapped and Percy and Obi-wan were nowhere in sight.
………
The first time he met Percy Jackson he was on cresh duty. He had nothing against kids. They were the future.
But Kriff were they energetic As soon as they had seen him something in their brain must have screamed playmate at the sight of him.
The worst one by far was Jackson he had the energy of all of the other younglings together and you couldn’t even be mad at him the kid was adorable.
By the time he was done, he was exhausted and also covered in blue handprints. His master had chuckled when he saw him, but he let him skip his chores for the night which Obi-Wan appreciated.
So yeah, he knew Percy Jackson.
They had been instructed by their masters to get their bags. Percy’s bag was nearly the same size as the boy.
“Do you want any help with that” he gestured to the bag.
The boy huffed “I’m god.”
He was stubborn but Obi-Wan couldn’t say he wouldn’t have done the same when he was Percy’s age.
Outside their Masters were nowhere in sight
“I can’t see them anywhere,” Percy said.
“Try felling for them in the force” Obi-Wan urged him.
Percy closed his eyes but after a short while he opened them with a frustrated sigh. “There's nothing it’s as if they have completely diapered.
He tried searching for them himself, but the boy was right they were gone.
“They must have been captured by someone with a force repressor, “Obi-Wan told Percy. “we can try looking for signs the fact that we can’t find them with the force might have given them false confidence.
He was right. They followed the trail down to a lake where their masters and the senator had been bound over a pole in the lake.
They hid in a bush where they had a good view of the captures.
“Do you have a plan?” Percy asked.
He looked down at the boy. “Why don’t you try planning? It will be good training for when you’re on your own.
Percy smiled mischievously. “I have a plan I just don’t think you will like it.”
He didn’t.
…
“ohhhh, I am the ghost of this forest I command that you level this place” he shouted then used the force to make the leaves of the forest circle the pirates.
This was humiliating. But it took the focus of their masters who Percy was helping escape. He didn’t fully understand how he was supposed to get them away fast enough they hadn’t brought their underwater gear because this wasn’t supposed to be a water mission.
When he asked Percy had just smiled and said that water was his speciality or something.’
“Get out little Jedi we know what the force looks like” one of the pirates shouted. Damit he knew this was a stupid plan.
He was just about to reveal himself so he could continue to distract them when the biggest wave he had ever seen at a lake rolled over the pirates it moved the pirates about twenty meters closer to the lake.
The pirates went to examine the lake and then they must have realized that their captures weren’t there anymore because they started to angrily accuse one another.
A tap on his back pulled his focus from the pirates who had begun fighting each other with great enthusiasm.
“Are you coming? “He looked up and saw the three adults who weirdly enough were all bone try.
They went back to the ship and Obi-Wan took a long nap while Qui-Gon and Mace Windu fixed the ship they weren’t risking anything.
His hopes of never going on a mission with Percy Jackson again were crushed by the counsel who thought they both showed a great level of teamwork and promised to send them on many missions together again.
Just his luck.
………
He had been waiting for a Sith apprentice for ages and he had finally found him. He was perfect.
He was impulsive, angry, and loyal to a fault all good things in a Sith. Now the next step was to get close to him.
He found him in the med bay of the ship where a droid was giving him bandages something that Percy judging by the look on his face thought was pointless.
“You have good instincts,” he told the boy.
Percy gave him a look that could only be described as a side-eye. “Yeah, I do.” Arrogant he could use that but what was that supposed to mean didn’t he trust him? Palpatine could think of no reason for people not to trust him he was a reliable senator.
He sat down next to the boy getting on his level that was important when you wanted to get them to feel that they were equals. They weren’t but that wasn’t important.
“Young Jackson you showed an incredible level of skill today I hope you know that the Jedi are not always so generous with compliments”
“Thank you, senator I appreciate the compliment,” his mistrust would have been obvious even if he wasn't projecting it loudly through the force.
If he didn’t cooperate, he would have to be taken out of the equation. Palpatine wasn’t stupid enough to try and kill him it was way too early for that, but maybe he would just coincidently be put on missions outside of anything important.
Yes, that would have to do.
