Work Text:

Will wanted to prepare something for his boyfriend Nico, the camp felt so strangely empty, there was no one in the infirmary, no other cabin or camper to take care of as Counsellor Cabin, so he decides to prepare something for Nico.

He asked Chiron for permission to use the kitchen of the big house. Nico was Italian. How difficult would it be to prepare pasta?

He searched the vast library of the big house, bigger than Athena's cabin and his own cabin, took the recipe book and started cooking. He put the water to boil, and take the sauce, he was about to put the pasta in the pot.

As he had seen his mother do once, he took all the pasta and began to tear it. When he was barely halfway through, breaking it very carefully, he didn't even hear the door open when he heard a gasp.

Will got scared, finishing cutting the raw pasta and putting it into the pot, he jumped in surprise, looking everywhere in search of the scream, on the left was Nico, with a terrified look.

"Nico?" He asked, confused by how he acted. "What's wrong? Are you Okay?”

Nico shook his head, staring at the stove, Will went towards him, worried about the son of Hades, he completely ignored him and went straight to the stove.

Nico placed white and yellow flowers in front of a grave, deep inside the forest of the half-breed camp, the tombstone read “Will Solace” quickly carved into the stone, Will looked at everything a few steps away, he completely gave up talking to Nico, he completely ignored him.

Now standing, Nico wiped a fake tear from the corner of his chocolate eye. "I'll miss you, my nightlight." He whispered, if Will were really dead, maybe he'd find it cute.

This lasted a surprising amount of two days, Chiron looked strangely at the only two campers, Mr. D looked half amused, half dismayed, but didn't comment anything, Will suspected that he knew something after all, the same day as Nico made his supposed “grave” went to talk to him.

Although Nico seemed completely unaware of his existence, they continued eating at Apollo's table, Nico held his hand at the campfire, and accompanied him silently in the infirmary, and in his archery practice, Will knew that he was not truly upset with him. But he was worried about that silence.

The third day, Will wanted to talk to Dionysus and try to resolve things with his boyfriend, they were supposed to tell each other everything, Will was determined to accept and understand Nico's darker side and his own too, but Nico was against him. applying ice law and Will was getting worried.

To his surprise, he didn't even have to knock on Nico's door in the morning, he was already waiting for him at the door of cabin 7.

"Come," he said, taking Will's arm, and dragging him to the big house, they came directly to the kitchen, there were all the ingredients to cook a pasta, Will is even more confused.

Nico began to tell him how to prepare pasta, putting special emphasis on not breaking it, on preparing the sauce at home, and on a lot of other things.

When he finished, Nico took Will to Apollo's table. Nico gave him a nice kiss on the lips. Will immediately returned it with emotion. "I'm confused. What happened?" He said, expressing what he had been feeling since these days.

Nico laughed, his beautiful laugh took all of Will's blood to his cheeks, Nico gave him another kiss, barely touching his lips. "Enjoy the food"

The food tasted wonderful, Will took Nico's hand on the table, filling him with questions, Nico smiled amused, looking at him tenderly.

"You can't break the pasta," he said, sitting on the lake dock after eating.

"What?" he responded, all this for just that?

"Do not do it again"

If doing so meant being ignored for two days, Will was never going to do it again.

I hope you like my first fanfic! I chose to start with something short.
I tried my best for the English, I'm not really good at it, don't doubt to tell me any mistake.
