The request would be perfectly normal for any other person, but it leaves Mel shirtless because her executive functioning gave up, her sport’s bra squeezing tight around her chest as the panic sets in. Her body settles into nothing but upset, and her lungs start shaking with tears that won’t fall. “Mellie?”
As soon as the bedroom door falls open, Frank finds her standing at the edge of the bed half dressed, a shaking hand to her mouth as she tells her body, it’s fine, you’re fine.
When Mel finally breaks after her shift, Frank is there to remind her it's not stupid that it's over a bowl of pasta.
