"It had not yet been four months since their last escape, and it was not long before they realized that this one had been different from the others. Nami had realized it a couple of weeks after their return... and now, the event that would mark their lives forever was starting to become visible."
Pregnant with their first child and unable to continue their journey, Nami chooses to stay in Foosha while Luffy and their crew prepare to depart for the Sabaody Islands. For the couple, this represents the beginning of long weeks filled with waiting, distance, friendships and nostalgia, and they are both unaware of the shadow of an old acquaintance who is about to cross their path.

My interpretation of what happens after the fall.
Goosebumps. A strange word to describe a sympathetic nervous system reflex. Most commonly felt as a reaction to the cold. It would be a good reason as to why Will has them now, up and down his bloodied arms; the wind battering across his body as he plummets is awfully cold and sharp against his skin. Another instance is fear. Very plausible to be the cause as well. After all, you often are not prepared to face death, that instant extinction, that step into the unknown. And for Will, who was prepared mere seconds ago to face that very fear head-on, the fall is not fast enough.
