Summary
“I’m married,” he says.
The reaction is instantaneous. Everybody turns to look at him. The expressions range from confused to shocked to straight up disbelief. He does his best not to shrink down into his seat.
“...To a woman?” Julian chances, being the first to speak.
Captain James Hutchins (The Captain to his co-workers) has been working at Button House PLC for a year. The job is... well, it's okay. However, the office does not know about his husband, who has just been re-stationed for six months. When his co-workers find out about his husband Anthony's existence, they become curious.
The Captain is about to have lots of questions to answer.

Summary
Thomas turned to him, excitement written all over his face. “We can prove them wrong! I need to show Isabelle that I’m capable of serious relationships, and you need to show Anthony that you’re emotionally available and comfortable with your sexuality. So we fake date! Each other, I mean. You know, we go to events together and things, make them really jealous. Then, when we’ve got them where we want them, we stage a break-up! We’ll have them eating out of our hands in no time!”
James thought about it. Amazingly, Thomas was right. The beauty of the plan was that it was so simple. It would work in both of their favours. It would make both Isabelle and Anthony realise that they were incorrect. What could possibly go wrong?
-----
When Thomas and James, mortal enemies and reluctant co-workers at Pat's bookshop, call a temporary truce, their friends are thrilled. Until, of course, the pair reveal that they are faking a relationship to make Isabelle and Anthony jealous. But as the boundaries between real and fake become increasingly blurry, all anyone can do is watch as Thomas and James figure out the real reason behind five years of animosity.

Summary
When you're a ghost, there are rules: You can't eat or drink but need to sleep, can walk through walls but sit on chairs, can't touch things or be perceived by the living... Yeah, okay, a lot of it doesn't make sense and some has even been challenged these last few years.
One rule is firmly set in stone, though: You stay how you died, where you died. The only way for a ghost to disappear from the place of their demise is to move on to the great beyond – everyone at Button House is certain of that.Julian would beg to differ.

“He’s in love!” Alison said, lying flat on Bella’s bed, staring at the ceiling.
“100%” Bella agreed with her best friend. “There is no way he’s not!”
“But with who…”
The pair pondered, Alison stroking Beans and Bella pursing her lips as she spun round and round in her spinny chair.

Summary
Being "The Captain" meant Teddy had to be anyone but himself; he had to maintain that stiff upper lip, resist blabbering on endlessly about tanks and maintain full focus. This is what he needed to do to survive. To not get caught.
He was doing a marvellous job of this, he hadn't shown a drop of emotion since the Great War ended. A certain Lieutenant, however, changed this indefinitely.
Despite his futile resistance, his mask had been lifted just enough for someone to see the loveable man beneath it. -

Summary
Captain James William had a problem. Right now, had just revealed his innermost secrets (except one, but really everyone could infer this just by common sense), revealed his death, revealed everything about him and left him bare. And when everything just continued on as if nothing had happened.
However, the Captain really couldn’t care right now. He knows that everyone already knew how he died, and he was accepted by Fanny, someone whose opinion mattered greatly to him. She stuck with him to and fro, and was definitely a great companion to be with when dead. He never loved her in the romantic sense, no, maybe it was something to do with… actually, he just didn’t know. But now, he just didn’t care.
No, no—the problem was that someone had come to Button House, and this person brought on a less living, more special (to Captain James) someone.
OR
Some people reenacting World War II accidentally showed up at the wrong house. Unbeknownst to them, they brought someone special along to Button House with them.

Summary
Recently retired from the army, James is lonely and in need of occupation, so he takes up baking as a means of filling the time. Before he knows it, he’s signed up to be a contestant on his favourite TV baking show and, once inside the tent, he finds himself unexpectedly distracted by a fellow contestant, one Anthony Havers — for all the wrong reasons.
TL;DR: It's a Ghosts x Great British Bake Off crossover with a tasty Capvers-flavoured centre

Summary
A crowd of small faces turned to look at him. Faces which James found it almost hurtful to look into. He shouldn't have felt the gut-wrenching pity that he did for the lads, but he couldn't help it. It was like staring into the sun
...
“You love it here. Maybe it's us which won't work.” James spat the last sentence like a wounded animal lashing out.
---
James doesn't remember much about his time at boarding school, only that he had despised it. When his husband, Anthony, secures a housemaster job looking after boarders at the local school, James' deeply-buried trauma explodes out of the ground.

Summary
Cordelia Edevane has always been an enigma to the other ghosts who haunted Button House, seeming to prefer the company of the living instead of the lingering spirits gathered over many centuries. So when Heather Button, the last inheritor of Button House, finally passes away due to old age, Cordelia is the only ghost who worries over the rundown house's fate while the rest bask in their new freedom.
Months later, the arrival of new homeowners Mike and Alison Cooper rid Cordelia of her previous worries. However, her housemates don't take too kindly to the married couple's plans to renovate Button House into a hotel, resulting in an unsuccessful haunting that ends with a near-death experience for Alison and her gaining the ability to perceive and converse with the dead. The ghosts, led by the Captain, plot to use Alison's new abilities to make the Coopers leave for good. But to their surprise, Cordelia is prepared to keep them from leaving, even if it means foiling the mischief of her fellow ghosts.
Meanwhile, an at-her-wits-end Alison may have found an unlikely ally keeping her sanity in check; Cordelia might be the only ghost of Button House she can just about tolerate.
