Description:

This series follows the point of view of 'Cordelia Edevane', one of many ghosts who died on the grounds of Button House and has come to haunt it prior to the arrival of Alison and Mike Cooper. Regarded as an 'outcast' due to spending time around the living to distract herself from the scars and grief of her past, conflicts arise between Cordelia and her invisible housemates when a near-death experience grants Alison the ability to see ghosts and a plot is created by the Captain to use these abilities to stop Button House from becoming a hotel. Fearing for the future of Button House, Cordelia becomes Alison's unlikely ally in foiling the ghosts' mischief and keeping her and Mike from leaving, becoming one of few ghosts whose presence Alison can tolerate. While Alison helps to make the ghosts' afterlives more bearable, Cordelia's new role as mediator between the living and the dead opens up old wounds and forces her to face situations and facts about herself she's strived to ignore, leaving her lost and confused. But luckily, she will also be granted unlikely companionship and aid from the ghosts whom she once regarded with detachment, gradually helping to heal her wounds and theirs in turn.

Notes:

While the plot follows the canon events of each episode, changes have been made to dialogue and scenes that allow Cordelia to be properly established in the verse and bring about an original and fresh perspective that allow Cordelia to make an impact with the other ghosts without shoving them out of the limelight. There is also plenty of original content slotted in to keep things interesting and expand more on both Cordelia and the other OCs that are introduced. Currently, this series spans over five fics in accordance with the show's seasons, of which are detailed below:

Ghost of a Kind: Series 1's fic is currently ongoing and will focus solely on the six episodes that encompass it, with the episodes spanning around eight chapters each and around 5,000 to 7,000 words in length.
