Summary
Waitressing was definitely not your first choice in employment. Waitressing in a children’s pizza place, complete with dancing animal mascots, a plastic jungle gym, and screeching arcade games was even further down the list. The pay was mediocre and the children mostly brats, but exhausted parents, grateful for the respite, tended to tip generously. Even better, the owner was practically a ghost. In fact, you had never even met the guy. You worked better without supervision anyway and thankfully, the rather strict rules coded in the employee handbook had fallen by the wayside. If you chatted for a bit too long in the kitchen or took a couple extra minutes on your break, there was no one around to yell at you. Overall, it wasn’t too bad. That was, until the day you finally met Mr. Afton.
