“Just another boring day at Mythical High” Elisa sighed as she sat next to her roommate, best friend and adoptive brother Leonard Wynters at their kitchen Island.
“Come now Elisa, the day hasn't even started. And tonight, we’re flying back home for winter break” Leonard said as he was looking over a book that Elisa didn't recognize. Elisa took a moment to look over her best friend, he hadn't come in at his usual time the night before but he looked no worse for wear. Aside from the fact his black nose ring and snake bites seemed to be missing, he looked as great and perfect as he always did where she looked like any other normal girl. Her best friend looked like a god, but she supposed that was normal for the day walkers, so they could get close to their victims “Like what you see?” Leonard jokes noticing her staring
“I….uhh…. Hey what happened too you're piercings” Elisa says
“Mick took my gages and wouldn't give them back last night and I took the others out so he wouldn't steal them too.” Leonard says
“Don't you have another set” Elisa said sitting down next to him
“No, those were the last ones, why are you asking, you’ve never liked my piercings anyway.” Leonard says
“I liked your nose ring. It makes you look cool. I hate the gages” Elisa says
“Lise most likely isn't gonna let me go buy more” Leonard says
“Yeah probably not, you're sister is gonna throw a fit over the nose ring” Elisa says
“Yeah, can I just stay here for winter break? Other students do” Leonard says
“No silly. You can't, we already got the plane tickets and we didn't go home for fall break. They miss us” Elisa says
“Guess you're right” Leonard says
“So what poor book are you terrorizing now” Elisa says
“It’s only terrorizing when i’m reading the living ones, and they are in the restricted section of the library” Leonard says
“Oh, so you're reading a normal book for once” Elisa says
“Yep” Leonard says
“I’m Proud of you Len'' Elisa says, Len was what she called him, she always thought Leonard was such a mouthful, he thought so as well. Only a select few people could call him a nickname, but once you started calling him one you couldn't go back, he was obsessive that way. You called him by his nickname unless he said other wise, or he had done something incredible stupid which was often. Len may have been the smartest boy in Mythical high but sometimes he was an utter idiot.
“Shut up” Len says
“That doesn't look like a Text book” Elisa says
“It’s not, so you know that package we got in the mail a few weeks ago. This book was in it. Cisco thinks we will need it soon. I dont have the slightest Idea why, but he’s never been wrong before” Len said, when not in school Len and Elisa lived with Len’s older sister, Lisa, out in ohio. Elisa had lived with the Wynters since she was six, she had even taken on their last name even though she was not at all related to them. Lisa and Len had found her on the side of the road in the middle of winter and after not being able to find her family they had adopted her, despite the paranormal world needing to stay hidden from the normal world. Elisa and Len had hit off immediately, in many ways Len was a brother to Elisa, and Lisa was like a mother to her.
“What’s this important book about than” Elisa asks
“It’s a syilibine book” Len said
“Where the hell did Cisco find a prophecy book” Elisa says
“Beats me” Len says
“I know he’s never been wrong but why in hell would we, a Human and a day walker, need a prophecy book” Elisa says
“Fangless Day walker” Len said sadly “I’m fangless”
“Yeah, you know I’m never gonna call you that? Speaking of which, have you feed recently” Elisa says
“Yeah, Mick hunted, killed and drained a deer for me last night. I'm good for a day” Len says
“You need Human blood soon Len. You can't keep surviving on Deer blood. It doesn't keep your strength up” Elisa says
“You know mick doesn't like it when I-”
“So, what if he doesn't like it. You need to eat what will keep you healthy, and if he doesn't like it then screw him, he shouldn't be trying to change you. There’s probably someone better out there for you” Elisa says
“Yeah, I’ll talk to him about it, before we leave. I mean if you don't mind running by his place before school. We got like two hours Cuz you're a freaking’ early bird” Len says
“We gonna go to Mickey D’s afterward?” Elisa says
“Yeah, I could go for some biscuit and O Pos right now, that deer blood isn't very satisfying” Len says
“You find the keys while I get my bag together, I assume you already have your bag” Elisa says
“You want to drive? I thought you liked walking considering it was healthy and all that Jazz” Len says
“Mick Lives four miles away! I aint walking four fucking Miles unless you're offering too carry me” Elisa says “Plus we gotta give the school the car back for the break since we’re not staying”
“Fine, fine, I got the keys but I'm not driving.” Len says
“I know you drive like shit” Elisa says
“Says the one who got pulled over for speeding and then told the officer you were qualifying for Nascar” Len says
“He let us go with only a warning did he not” Elisa says
“You were going 160 in a 30” Len exclaims “I can't even run that fast!”
“Oh, you so can, if you start drinking, your actual diet” Elisa says “Now get in the fucking car, we have two hours to give Mick a what for, grab a bite to eat, or in your case a bite too drink, and get too school”
“Breakfast first, I’m feeling hungry again, the burn is back” Len says
“Breakfast first it is, drive through or sitting down” Elisa says
“Drive thru, mick should let us eat at his place, and I have you to ensure he doesn't try and take the blood away”
“Puh-lease you’ll have that cup of blood drank before we even get there, c’mon let’s go”
“We should grab mick something, he’ll think less of it if we bring him and Emma food” Len says
“Yeah, know what they like” Elisa says
“That man will eat anything we order him. Let's get them both the pancake meal” Len says
“Alright!” Elisa says twenty minutes later they were arriving at micks, like predicted Len had finished his cup of blood and was now working on the second one they ordered
“Here again, did you not get enough of me last…. Oh, Hello Elisa” Mick said opening the door
“There’s something we need to talk about, we brought You and Emma breakfast” Len says
“MISTA LENNY!” A toddler squealed running out too hug Len's leg
“Hey Emma, we brought pancakes,” Len says, bending down to pick up the brown haired blue eyed toddler, he then glanced at his boyfriend who had tan skin, brown eyes and a black mullet. Which len hated but never said anything about, even though mick voiced his dislikes about Lens piercings and diet.
“What’s the issue” Mick says before sniffing the air “Are you drinking Human blood”
“Yeah, the animal blood isn't doing much for me, it’s hardly getting rid of my thirst for an hour. And I’m getting weaker” Len says
“You know how I feel ‘bout..” Mick says
“He does and if he continues to refuse his proper diet he will die!” Elisa snaps “And give him his damn Gages back” Elisa felt a bit of heat flickering at her fingertips, she didn't care too look, she was pissed and was ready to punch a wolf shifter
“But the humans…”
“HE’S FANGLESS YOU BASTARD!” Elisa reached back and punched the wolf shifter in the nose, a pain flared up in her wrist “Gah!”
“You bitch!” Mick snarled “God ,Lenny I thought you said she was human”
“She is!” Len says
“Really, she just broke my Fucking nose!” Mick says
“Mick, I wanted to invite you to come to Ohio with us for winter break, but if you want to keep making me do this you can forget it. I can't keep denying my body what I need” Len says “Come on El, let's get to school”
“Right behind you Dracula” Elisa says taking Lens snake bites back from Mick
“I do not say Blah Blah Blah!” Len says
“Yeah, yeah, now get in the damn car or do you want to get detention and miss our flight tonight” Elisa says
“When I get my health back to normal, I am never riding with you again” Len says as he gets in the car
“My driving isn't that bad” Elisa says
“YOU WENT 160 IN A 30!” Len screeches
“Yes, you said that this morning, can you strap in now we’re going to be late” Elisa says
“My skin is marble I don't need to strap in” Len says
“I am not moving this car until you put, your goddamn seatbelt on” Elisa says
“Yeah, sure but only because I don't feel like going through the windshield again, we’ve already had it replaced six times this month and its only November 12th” Len says
“Better than last month” Elisa says
“Let's try not to wreck Headmistress Dallio’s car. Again” Len says
“Come on you take all the joy outta life” Elisa says
“Wrecking cars is not fun and it is dangerous, need I remind you that you are only Human” Len says
“It’s fun and it’s not that dangerous” Elisa says as they zoomed down the streets of the small town
“You just passed a Cop” Len says
“I don't need any backseat drivers” Elisa says
“Technically I’m in the front seat” Len says “and you're damn Lucky he didn't see us”
“Oh, shut up peanut gallery” Elisa says
“Brakes!! That's a red light…..That you just ran are you trying to get us arrested!” Len says
“No, now shut up and listen too you're damn music let me do the driving I got this shit” Elisa says Len sighs and stares out the Window, they were passing the dorm house of Leafa Lupus, the Nightcrawler who bullied Len.
“Think the bitch is goanna be at school today, suns out” Len says
“Unfortunately yes, she arrives at school before the sun comes up and takes the tunnels home” Elisa says
“I wish she would die” Len says
“Me to buddy, me too” Elisa says as they pull into the parking lot and crash into a tree
“Elisa!” Len says
“Whoops” Elisa says
“WHOOPS? FUCKING WHOOPS?” Leonard says “you hit the only tree in the parking area!”
“Oh chill out” Elisa says
“Chill out who do you think has to pay for this!?”Leonard says
“Not us” Elisa says
“Lisa is going to kill us” Leonard says
“No she ain't we just in for a really long lecture now come on Dracula. We’re gonna be late too Math” Elisa says
“I am not Dracula. Flavia’s Class is on the third floor and I am not carrying you again” Leonard says
“You know Ms. Caesar hates it when you call her Flavia” Elisa says
“She ain't here, come on sis” Len says heading into the building Elisa follows behind leaving the car for the School officer to find. When he sees it he sighs and calls for a tow truck.
“Good morning, Class” Ms. Caesar says as Len and Elisa made it too their seats
“I cant wait till tonight” Elisa mutters putting her earbuds in too block out the teacher “Wake me when class is over Leo”
“Fuck you” Len says “You know I hate being called Leo.”
“Sorry Cold” Elisa says “Wake me when class is over”
“Sure, thing Cupcake” Len says Elisa closed her eyes leaning back against the wall and pulling her hood up over her head, falling asleep too the song kings and Queens
“What” Elisa groaned feeling someone jab her in the side
“Class is over and I am not carrying you to the Gym. You won't be able to sleep through that class” Len says
“Least with it being the last day of the semester we won't have to do anything.” Elisa says “What did I miss”
“A pizza party. Catch” Len tossed her a Powerade “You sleep well last night”
“The usual, you know I can't sleep down here. It’s so loud. I miss the quiet countryside of Ohio” Elisa says
“Ten more hours and then we can head home. Is your stuff packed?” Len asks
“Yeah, you?” Elisa asks
“Nope” Len says “I was out with my boyfriend last night”
“Well you’ll have a hour too get it packed before we have to leave after school” Elisa says
“Dont worry sis, i’ll get it done” Len says “You need help with that?” Len saw Elisa was struggling opening her sports drink
“Fuck you I got it” Elisa says
“Sure you do Cupcake” Len says taking the drink from her and opening it
“Show off” Elisa mutters
“Be nice” Len says
“Yes Mother” Elisa says
“I will punch you” Len says
“No, you won't” Elisa says as they get to the gym. They go and find a spot on the bleachers to sit while they waited on Mr. Adams
“Look who actually made it to class on time” A small voice says too there left. Perched on the rail too their left was a six-inch-tall Raymond Kelly.
“Shut up before I swat you Boy scout” Len says
“What are you doing in your fairy form Ray” Elisa says swatting Len’s arm
“Felt like it. Not like I needed my bag today and Mom didn't want to drive me” Ray says “It’s a ten-minute flight’ she said”
“I mean you do only live ten minutes away” Elisa says
“I don't see what you're complaining about flying would be great” Oliver says
“Sure, as hell would beat riding with her” Len says
“Hey!” Elisa says
“Did she crash again” Luna says from behind, she was there with her brother Dakota and cousin Jaxson
“Any of you seen that nightcrawler bitch today” Elisa asks
“Yeah, she’s over there picking on some poor Pixie” Axel says, He was hanging upside down on the pullup bars
“Mr. Jesse get off on my pull up bars unless you plan on doing pull ups” Mr. Adams says
“I am doing pull ups” Axel says sitting up
“No, you are doing sit ups on my pull up bar. Now get off, that is not for hanging” Mr. Adams says
“You're no fun Steve” Axel says
“And you're an annoying little brat” Leafa Lupus says. Leafa was a mean girl with snow white skin. Crimson Red eyes and green hair. She always wore all black and she hated anyone who wasn't a nightcrawler.
“What do you want Lupus” Elisa says standing up her hands balled into fists Elisa was ready to protect Len from Leafa
“Sit back down mortal. You're no match for me” Leafa says extending her fangs “I’ll drink you dry little human”
“She may not be a match but we are” Oliver says
“You're nothing but a low life elf.” Leafa says
“But I live in the elven realm. I am a elven warrior like my father and mother before me and if that’s not enough in six months I’ll be appointed on the elven council in my father's place” Oliver says
“Really? That’s so cool” Elisa says
“Whatever. You're not that impressive. Hey fangless why don't you stop hiding behind your Lackies and whore” Leafa says Elisa Surged forward but then Axel was there in front of her
“Bloodsucker aint worth it gogo” Axel says
“Come on hit me I’d love to see you get detention.” Leafa barks
“Why don't you fuck off” Luna says
“You lot aren't special” Leafa says
“Maybe, but neither are you honey so why don't you take your high horse and giddy on outta here” Ray says changing too his human form
“I’m squash you like an ant fairy boy” Leafa says baring her fangs
“Is there a problem over there?” Mr. Adams called noticing the stand off
“No professor” Leafa calls
“Ms. Lupus, leave the Wynters and gang alone” Mr. Adams says
“This isn't over Wynters” Leafa says
“See you around Lupus” Elisa says as Leafa stormed off
“What a bitch” Ray says changing back to his fairy form
“Next is lunch. We’ll get to see the whole gang. Plus Mark’s little bro” Luna says
“Clyde is one of us you know” Len says
“Yeah” Luna says filing her nails
“Okay, who took my wallet” Oliver says
“Heh, Sorry” Axel says handing Oliver his wallet back
“Frickin’ Gremlin” Oliver says
“Least it wasn't Leni again” Elisa says “Axel is supposed to do that stuff”
“Doesn't mean it isn’t annoying” Oliver says
“Does mean you have to deal with it though” Elisa says sitting down next too Len
“So, you two heading back to Ohio?” Axel says
“Yeah, what are you doing?” Elisa says
“Well I am going to the Elven realm” Oliver says
“I get too stay at the school. Perks of being a orphan” Axel says
“What’s the deal with that I’ve never asked” Elisa says
“Gremlins are born too normal families" Axel says “most of the time the norms don’t want us so we are given away. I was four when my Mom decided I was too much trouble.”
“Usually one parent is chaotic ” Len says “Axel's dad was the infamous criminal The tricker. James Walker.”
“I have been writing him and well I’ve been thinking of taking his last name” Axel says
“Axel Walker. That sounds better than Jesse. Your mom gave you up anyway why honor her” Luna says
“Dads in jail. Has been since before I was born” Axel says
“I’m sorry” Elisa says
“It’s fine, I’m thinking about-”
“No Axel, that’s a shell sure way too get the comity on you you know how tough they are on gremlins” Len says “You have to behave”
“Ughhh” Axel says
“I know it’s hard. Promise me while were gone you wont do anything drastic” Len says
“I promise” Axel says
