Work Text:
Another fight. Piper might be going insane.
She’s not even sure what starts it this time. All she knows is Jason is drunk and she’s a little tipsy too, and they’re both yelling about every mistake they’ve ever made.
Piper slams the door and stumbles putting on her shoes that she hastily grabbed on her way out. She sends texts that don’t make much sense, and she finds herself at his door.
Piper could chart the constellations in his eyes.
Jason watches Piper leave and breathes a sigh of relief. He doesn’t mean to feel relieved, but the combination of the alcohol and the shouting make his heart beat out of his chest.
Jason did love her, at one point. He used to be happy, he used to dream of marrying her. Now, his energy is sucked dry when they’re in the same room, so he sighs in relief when she leaves.
He sends a text, and within twenty minutes there’s a knock at the door. She stands there smiling at him.
Jason feels brought back to life.
Jason finds out about Piper first. He isn’t surprised, and he doesn’t yell like usual. Piper is confused, especially when Jason starts chuckling.
Piper finds out about Jason then. She barks out a surprised laugh, though the only real surprise comes from his admission, rather than the act itself.
Piper swore this relationship would be the death of her, but she’s never felt more alive.
