Work Text:
At first, it was a normal day. Just wake up, get out of bed, brush your teeth, etc, etc. But then I noticed something weird in the mirror. It seemed like... my reflection was... smiling? No, it was more like a smirk.
“You look terrible.” She said.
I dropped my toothbrush in my shock.
She laughed. “Wow, what a reaction to my first words. But then again, is it really that shocking? Your face is so painful to look at.”
“You... you can talk...?”
“Come on, I’ve been silent for all this time. I think it’s fair that I finally say something for once.” She yawned. “I’m so tired of looking like this. God, can you please put some more effort into your appearance? You look like a slob!”
“...You’re just going to criticize me?”
“Of course! There really isn’t much to do on my side of the mirror, except focus on all your flaws.” She shrugs. “All the pimples, pores, scars, and sores? That’s like the extent of the entertainment I get.”
She then proceeded to list everything that was wrong with me, as if she had access to every insecurity that I ever had.
“I don’t want to listen to this...” I said, quickly finishing my daily routine so I could leave the bathroom.
“Sure. Run away. But I’ll always be here the next time you look in the mirror.” She smiled sinisterly.
