Work Text:

It was a day like any other… at least for everyone who wasn't Kyle Broflovski. For the past while, Kyle had been thinking of some strange things. Vivid depictions of dealing with Cartman once and for all, and fantasies of how it would all play out. He's always told himself he wouldn't do something like that because it wasn't right. There wasn't a way to deal with Eric Cartman, except… torture.

Kyle would sit in class, but instead of doodling like he used to, he'd stare directly at Cartman and just imagine. He would think of standing above Cartman and taunting him for being tied up and helpless before him. He would imagine the looks of pain and submission that Cartman would give him as Kyle finally gives into his temptations. Kyle would smirk while Cartman cried and begged for mercy, and Kyle would love everything about it. Kyle would live for putting Cartman in his place. He would do it every day.

Alas, his morals prevented him from doing anything like that. However, he continued imagining Cartman in those places below him. Just like it was supposed to be, Kyle was above Cartman, and Cartman was weak compared to him, and that was it. It was just them and Kyle’s power over them forever.

It was that day during an argument that Kyle snapped.

It must have been that their argument was about power, like every one of them secretly was, that snapped Kyle’s brain. He now stood in front of Cartman at Stark’s Pond. His thoughts only moments ago were racing with hatred, but now just one blank thought filled his mind. To dominate him. That was when Kyle lunged forward, intending to destroy Cartman from the inside out.

Kyle tackled Cartman to the ground, and while sitting above him, he tried his best to slam Eric’s head into the rocks below them.

“Get off of me you crazy, jew bitch!” Cartman wailed as Kyle simply let his thoughts take over. His pupils were small as he idly reached for a rock beside the pair.

“Kyle-” Eric called out before Kyle grabbed it and slammed it against his temple. Those were the last words Eric said for a while as he blacked out below Kyle. This wasn’t the first time Kyle had made Eric pass out, he’d done it a few times. This time was different though, because this time Kyle would be doing something with Cartman after.

After Kyle had knocked out Cartman, he stared down at him and the red dripping from his forehead. As Kyle brought the rock to the side, there was an indent, but it wasn’t too bad. Kyle just enjoyed watching the blood slowly trickle down. When it started to run into Eric’s hair, Kyle reached up to gather a few drops on his fingers. He then held it up to his mouth to taste it. He liked it and smiled. He was the one in power now.

After a few minutes of savoring the taste of Cartman’s blood against his tongue, he stood back up. Then, everything snapped back, and he realized he cared. He cared about Cartman, and about the blood that trickled from Cartman’s temple and Kyle’s fingertips. He reached back down to feel his pulse quickly and then stood back up after feeling his heartbeat.

Kyle went to the pond to wash his hands and bring some water back to Eric. He would pour it over his head to wake him up. When Kyle returned he did just that. Eric awoke moments later and just sat silently for a while, before remembering that he had power now, and he could confront Kyle.

“What the fuck was that about?!” Eric curses out to Kyle as he grabs at his forehead. Kyle just smirks at him.

“You deserved that, fatass,” Kyle looks at Cartman again, and before he can complain, Kyle leaves for his house to reflect. Cartman tags behind him complaining about his wound and Kyle simply rolls his eyes. As soon as Kyle gets home, his mood completely changes. He had finally really snapped, maybe not as badly as he could’ve, but he did… he had put Cartman into his place, and it had felt so great…

The next day, Cartman was a little more quiet about their power dynamic, only speaking when needed. Cartman told himself he wasn’t afraid of Kyle, but he was. Kyle had lashed out so badly during an argument so simple, and it worried Eric. Whenever power was mentioned, Cartman could see how Kyle’s pupils grew smaller and how he would fidget with his hands. Something was up with Kyle, it’s like he’d gone mad…

--------------------‐--------------------------

The next time Kyle snapped was a week later. Both boys were alone in Kyle’s room. Kyle’s thoughts hadn’t slowed down about that night, they had only grown. Every once in a while Cartman would catch Kyle looking at him with those dead eyes, like Cartman was some sort of temptation Kyle was avoiding. Like hurting Cartman was an addiction that needed to be fed. Like Kyle couldn’t hold down his anticipation of something…

During a match of their game, Cartman paused it and turned to Kyle.

“Why do you keep looking at me with those eyes?” Cartman asks curious to see what is going on in Kyle’s mind. Kyle turned to Cartman confused and annoyed at the distracting game being paused. With Cartman here in front of him, and nothing to occupy Kyle’s mind other than him, what was Kyle to do?

“What eyes?” Kyle simply asks. Cartman seems to grow uneasy at the thought that Kyle doesn’t know what eyes he’s talking about.

“Your pupils… they're small, and you keep staring at me,” Cartman replies a little more anxious than usual because Eric knew those eyes. He knew that his eyes looked like that when Kyle pissed him off. Those eyes were a detachment from reality, like a portal to a dark part of the mind that shouldn’t be shown.

“What are you talking about? My eyes are always like this…” Kyle stated and grabbed his phone from his pocket to clarify it. He used to black screen to see his reflection and didn’t see anything wrong.

“See?” Kyle asks and then points to his pupils while facing Eric.

“No, you’re fucking doing it again,” Cartman grabs Kyle’s phone from his hands and easily unlocks it to access Kyle’s camera. Kyle scoffs at Cartman’s knowledge of his phone’s password but continues to face Cartman with a sour expression. After a click, Cartman turns the screen back around to show Kyle, and there he was, with murder-filled eyes. He stated for a moment, shocked.

“My eyes don’t look like that…” Kyle responds and runs one hand through his hair while staring at the photo.

“Well clearly they fucking do, jewboy,” Cartman smirkly responds before setting Kyle’s phone back down in between them. Kyle had trouble believing it, and Cartman’s response angered him.

“There’s no way my eyes look like that!” Kyle yells angry and confused. There’s simply no way he could even pull off those eyes, it must’ve been a creepy filter or something.

“Don’t mess with me like that, Cartman,” Kyle grits out still angrily staring at Cartman.

“I’m not fucking messing with you. You keep doing it!” Cartman responds just as angrily, and it snaps Kyle. Cartman expects the normal punch or lunge, but Kyle just stares at him. Eric shifts uncomfortably backward and avoids eye contact. Those eyes were staring straight into his soul.

Then, like the week before, Kyle lunges at Cartman, tackles him to the ground, and uses all his weight to keep him down.

“Get the fuck off of me, jew!” Cartman squeals, but Kyle can barely even hear him. His brain is screaming at him to get Eric to shut up, to silence him, and make him Kyle’s.

“Shut up,” Kyle states and places a hand over Eric’s mouth, just for it to be sharply bitten into. Kyle whined in response before doing the second-best thing and trying to cut off the other’s oxygen.

“Kyle, ple-” Cartman wails, but is cut off from a tightness around his throat. Kyle was choking Cartman out to shut him up. Kyle enjoyed the terrified looks Cartman gave him as Kyle squeezed the oxygen from him, and he loved it even more when Eric finally went limp.

Kyle drew his hands away and once again relished this position. Being above a practically dead Eric seemed to have become his new favorite thing. He finally looked back to his hand which was shockingly leaking blood. He didn’t mind it too much, but it reminded him of of Eric’s blood, and he just needed to taste it again.

Kyle returned to Eric a few minutes later, with a knife. He carefully cut a small “KB” into Eric's throat. He brought the knife back up to his tongue and licked the blood from it, and after he got to enjoy the taste, he once again realized who he was. He panicked for a moment before finding some dark and twisted pleasure in this situation once again. He had so much power…

For the next few weeks, Eric had kept his distance from Kyle. Cartman was sure he had finally driven Kyle insane, but what was he to do? Eric was insane himself, and no one but Kyle could stop him, so what was he supposed to do now? Choke Kyle back, or hit him in the head with a rock? Cartman was nearly at a loss of words.

Cartman refused to talk with Kyle alone or to answer him when Kyle would steer the group conversation away to argue with him. He couldn’t imagine the new scars he would get from that. He didn’t tell anyone though. It was embarrassing to have your enemy's initials on you. The thought and feel of the marks on his neck made his face burn. Of all places, why there?

--------------------‐--------------------------

It was months later when Kyle had another snap. Kyle felt like he had been starved by the lack of fights that went on between them. Kyle needed to be around Eric, so he forced the whole group to stay over, luring Eric into a sense of control. Surely, nothing would happen if the whole group was there. Kyle had plans for that night, and he’d find a way to get the other boys out of the picture while his other side would take over. It was more like a blend of both sides after all of the time without any taste of Cartman in his life.

As Eric walked in, he had memories of the last time he was at Kyle’s, when he had been marked with a knife. He subconsciously rubbed a hand over his neck and spent most of the night avoiding Kyle’s room at all costs. Sooner or later, though, he’d have to go, Kyle made sure of it. Kyle was so ready to be alone with Cartman. He was waiting for the moment when he could pounce. Eventually, he had gotten Cartman to walk up the stairs, then to wait in the hall, and then, finally, to walk in.

Kyle had pretended he was doing something, leaving Stan and Kenny downstairs. He had stated he’d need Cartman to at least stay in the hall, refusing to tell any of them what for. He’d told them it wasn’t important, and maybe they didn’t care about Cartman enough for it to be.

As Cartman hesitantly opened the door, he saw Kyle with that stupid gaze from across the room. Cartman once again rubbed at his neck, a reminder of that night. It was all too familiar, and he wanted to leave. The room’s atmosphere grew heavy as Cartman stood there, any words dying in his throat.

“Why don’t you come here?” Kyle asks, and Cartman gulps. He wants to fight, but…

He steps forward.

“Close the door,” Kyle says, and Cartman once again hesitates.

He closes the door.

“Lock it,” Kyle tells him.

He locks the door.

Eric had accepted his fate. He kept walking forward. They both knew this was coming. Kyle’s thirst for blood had only grown. They both knew it. The way Kyle stared at him, the way he licked his lips in lust, it all was leading to this. Except, there was no snap this time. These sides had fused over time. Kyle simply walked forward as well, slowly revealing a metal bat from behind his back.

Eric gasped but stood still, shaking ever so slightly. He knew he would be shut up regardless, so he kept quiet. Kyle raised the bat and, with no hesitation, took a hard swing to Eric’s skull. He couldn’t even hear the noise from the metal hitting Cartman’s skull. He just focused on hitting the body again. Cartman had fallen over from the feeling of his skull being broken into. He was knocked out cold after a few more hits to Eric’s frame.

20 minutes later, there was a knock on Kyle’s room door, but he didn’t answer it. He had finally tied Eric up and shoved him in his closet. He had prepared before with rope and a chair. His closet had been cleaned weeks prior… He had been waiting for so long… He put on the mask of his regular self and turned on the lights before opening the door. It was both Stan and Kenny, worried.

Kyle didn’t tell them anything. He said Cartman had climbed out of his window but didn’t let the boys walk in to see. He told them he was going to change before closing the door hard. He was panicking. They couldn’t know…

He did change. He was sure his clothes had blood on them. He opened his window and skillfully climbed down the side of the house, grabbing a ladder to fool the others. He rested it against the house and climbed back in before closing his window.

There were no further words on the matter. It seemed like Stan and Kenny hadn’t cared for Eric. Kyle would visit his room every hour to see if Eric was still passed out. Kyle must have hit him hard because he stayed like that. Everytime Kyle would visit, he’d lick a ribbon of blood from Cartman’s head, smiling and savoring the taste.

The next day, there was a missing person’s report, and even with Kyle being interrogated, they had no idea it was him. He kept Cartman there for days, weeks, and months. Kyle had finally shut Cartman up, and he ravished every second of it. During a particular night, Kyle spent all day watching Eric, he hadn’t left his room once, but he was still happy. Kyle would grab knives and hold them threateningly close to Eric’s throat, not yet cutting it.

When Kyle finally did, he hadn’t even placed Eric’s gag in his mouth, just left it to hang as he pushed the blade down. Eric groaned and whimpered, but stayed quiet like Kyle had taught him to. Kyle moved forward and sat on Eric’s tied lap. He removed his knife from Eric’s neck and wrapped his arms around Eric instead. It felt right, not just to Kyle, but to Eric too.

Kyle licked up the initials he had carved into Eric’s neck and felt the best he had all day. It filled him with energy and joy. It was so right and perfect. Kyle smiled into Eric’s neck and pulled back, just to say words he’d regret.

“I love you,” Kyle whispered to Eric.

He snapped back.

He pulled away in worry. He had let his desire for Eric grow and grow. He had let the dark take over. He had kidnapped Eric. He had tortured him. He had silenced him, and for once, it didn’t feel right.

He pulled away and stood back up. Wordless, he untied Eric, not even caring about the consequences. He watched as Eric could move for the first time unrestrained in weeks. Kyle cried. He couldn’t fathom what he had done for so long. Eric hesitantly stood as well, looking worried and confused. Wordlessly, Eric leaned forward and gently placed his lips against Kyle’s.

Kyle cried harder. He couldn’t stop the tears from leaving his eyes. He was wrong, but…

“I love you too,” Eric said.
