Restoration had been quite busy then usual. It has always been busy obviously, but maybe just a tad too much. Mobians all scramble around doing tasks and trying to being helpful. There’s been a recent influx in Eggman attacks that needed to be reported on and tracked immediately which, well, made today quite a busy one.
It’s been especially busy for Lanolin.
Pulling non-stop all-nighters just to catch up with the work and to be ahead off things. Yeah, it’s good to be ahead sure, but obviously the way she was achieving this goal was a little dangerous.
It wasn’t all so bad really though. As much as she had Tangle and Whisper to hangout with briefly to get more refill on coffee, she had Jewel. Those two shared one common goal in mind.
Get the work done no matter what. (They had other common goals in mind, but that was the main one really.)
Hanging out with Jewel while doing work was exactly what Lanolin needed to not completely go insane. It was just nice for her to have a work buddy that wasn’t her teammates (especially Tangle she drives her completely insane while working in a respectful way) sometimes.
Jewel obviously wasn’t the “adventurer” type, but Lanolin did not mind at all. She was rather pleasant and nice to hangout with during those long grueling hours of the night. They were help each other out, chat about things other then work and so on.
These daily night routines had been going on for about a month now and the more it continued, the more Lanolin began to notice something.
It never happened at the beginning of those daily routines because it was something new that both Lanolin and Jewel didn’t collectively decide they would do together. It sorta just happened one day really.
Besides that small realization, Lanolin noticed something else between her and Jewel. They were a lot more comfortable with one another if you would put it like that.
It was small at the beginning with them getting a lot more used to each other and chatting about things besides Restoration work to them sleeping on each shoulder’s when they both were exhausted.
Lanolin didn’t mind this at all really. She was never a very physical touch person, but allowing Jewel to rest on her shoulder was completely fine.
Straight away she knew one thing when she made this realization. She might be developing a crush on Jewel which she also didn’t mind she was actually really cute. Wait no stop thinking of that stay focus.
She didn’t want to let this crush and feelings to get in the way of work. Besides, Jewel was also the head director of the Restoration and dating in a place like this was.. weird for her because obviously she worked here.
Though, I guess that didn’t stop Tangle and Whisper from being all lovely-dovey with each other which they also deny being a couple many times which Lanolin knows isn’t true at all they both are just really shy to confessing.
Lanolin was frankly stumbled on what to think of this. She was a serious and hardworking mobian. She was also easily frightened, irritated by Tangle and other things and bossy.
She didn’t mean to by irritated or whatever, but it was who she was sometimes. She wanted to get stuff done and help out others to the best of her abilities. She never wanted people to feel useless or helpless like she once was.
She needed someone to talk to about these feelings and well, who else to talk about feelings and love than no other then the two love birds themselves, Tangle and Whisper.
