That's Truly Impressive:

Summary:

It doesn't happen often, but sometimes Andromache does get surprised by other people like that Tuesday in May back in 1134.

Work Text:

They were walking through the tick crowd of people who also were visiting the market. Suddenly, Andromache felt a hand on her hips, and before she could react, a pickpocket ran off with her purse.

Andromache: "When I get my hands on that snake."

Before Andromache could run after the pickpocket, Yusuf placed a hand on Andromache's shoulder.

Yusuf: "Let Nico. He got his very own way to deal with pickpockets."

Nicolò gave Yusuf a smile before he picked up a stone on the ground. Nicolò threw the stone up in the air a couple of times to get a feeling of its weight before he threw it and hit the pickpocket in the back of the head, so the pickpocket dropped to the ground. Andromache stared at Nicolò.

Andromache: "That's truly impressive, Nico. You got an incredible aim. How far do you think it was you threw the stone?"

Nicolò: "Give and take - 600 yards."

Yusuf: "I have seen him throw stones and other things and hit people and stuff far beyond 600 yards."

Nicolò: "It's nothing, really. Shouldn't we get the pickpocket before he gets up unless you want to lose your purse forever?"

Yusuf: "Yes, you're right. As always."

Because the pickpocket was still unconscious, they left him on the ground before returning back to the safe house.

Andromache: "If you don't mind, Nico, when Quynh is back again, I would like to test your aim. And maybe you can teach us a thing or two about it."

Nicolò "More than fine. And it doesn't take much to be better than Yusuf."

Yusuf: "That camel wasn't my fault. It came out of nowhere."

Nicolò: "It was your fault because you hit the camel instead of the tree, which was standing right in front of you."

Yusuf let out a dramatic groan before he left. Then Nicolò looked at Andromache.

Nicolò: "When Yusuf hit the camel, it chased him for a mile. It was a fun sight."

Andromache: "I can only imagine. Now, tell me more about your great aim. When did you first discover it?"

Nicolò: "I never paid much attention to my aim before Yusuf did, which is the truth."

Andromache: "I believe you. I think your aim can help us in more than one way in the future."

Nicolò: "Whatever you say, Boss. I follow your orders as always."

Andromache: "Good. Now, go find Yusuf. We both prefer a smiling Yusuf instead of the grumpy one."

Nicolò nodded before he did it. When Andromache was alone, she looked at her purse while thinking about what other skills her new brothers had she still hadn't seen.
