It was an ordinary day for yui komori . well as ordinary it can get when you live with six vampire (seemingly) teenage boys who all thirsted for your blood. Still...not getting your blood sucked at the start of the day could count as a good sign.
Doing the chemistry equations that were given as a homework,Yui diligently worked in quiet. It's been a while since she had experienced such quietness. Nowadays it's a luxury to have a quiet time to herself considering triplets like to barge in uninvited and have their way ordering her around. why can't they just do their own homework ?
Ofcourse they wouldn't just because she wants them to. Besides nobody except her and Reiji cared about their school work in this house.
After finishing her work she stood up from her chair. She stretched, making a popping sound with her joints. Waking her asleep muscles, She wondered. What was Ayato upto currently? Why hasn't he came to disturb her yet? It's strange as he's the one who interrupts her study sessions on a regular basis. Hm…he must have went to sleep.
That's a rare occasion that the triplets hadn't intrude on her like always. Triplets just can not seem to sit still. Like fishes swimming continuously in the ocean, triplets continuously seeks trouble or treat.
Despite their annoying bickering and demanding personalities,she couldn't bring herself to hate the them. Especially not after knowing that the heart that once belonged to Cordelia , their mother ,was now inside of her.
Cordelia was... not as good of a mother as one should be. She refused to think further than that , for the sake of not reeping hatred for a fellow woman.
I feel thirsty for Something sweet. She came to conclusion that she would have a cup of Coco and would be off to bed. Having made her resolve, she made her way towards the kitchen.
Passing the silent hallways her mind ventured again .
It has been roughly some months when she was first sent to live in this huge sakamaki mansion. Her father, Seiji komori working as a priest, went abroad for some church work. In this seemingly long yet short period of time , yui came to realise that the six brothers living in this mansion were all vampires. She has experienced the pain of been bitten by all of them, was facing the issue of anemia, found out she was adopted, got possessed by none other than triplets' dead mother and still had to be careful around them everyday.
Apparently all brothers had different mothers and same father. Triplets were the sons of Cordelia, Shu and Reiji are siblings from Beatrice while subaru is an only child of christa. Each mother had her own extreme ways of parenting. Hence each boy had undergone childhood trauma and had developed their own unique sadistic personality.
how cruel...how can a mother act such way towards her own children? Yui believed their persona was a reflection of the after effects of a tragic childhood. The whole mansion emitting a ghastly reminiscence of failed parenthood.
Yui still found it rather unbelievable that she , a girl of church, has been living with six vampire boys… however every doubt would turn to dust when a pair of fangs would pierce her skin, diving deep into her flesh. The sensation of pain and dizziness of having her blood sucked confirmed it that her situation is not a dream.
While they are all inhuman,sometimes she saw some remnants of normal human behaviour in them. Like Ayato's love for takoyaki ,Reiji's love for his tea and cutlery ,Laito….uhm laito's awareness of his siblings,Subaru getting flustered, Shu listening to his music and kanato's love for all kinds of sweets. But sometimes they will deliberately force her to realise that of course they were , in fact, neither human nor normal at all.
Regardless of everything they put her through, she was, still deep down, grateful for them that they were providing her food to eat and a place to sleep . Even though she was paying them rent in form of her very own blood.
Yui komori could not curse these vampires even when they devour her blood and faith,for it was in their very nature to prey on flesh and blood , to drain the life of others and quench their thirst from blood and screams. It wasn't in her nature, specifically not after knowing their tragic childhood. They still scare her but not as much as when she first came into this house.
She had always been a kind and faithful girl . She was taught that every creature deserve to live and feel love ; every heart could be melted with kindness even though the hearts she prayed for to be melted it seems ...were made of stone.
In spite of this hurdle ,her belief demands her to be firm in her resolve , for she values every life , even the life of these blood sucking vampires, the very creatures of dark and sin.
When yui reached the kitchen , she realised reiji was already there , presumably boiling water for his tea. “Reiji-san", yui greeted.
“Ms.komori .”
“I see you haven't gone to bed yet, if So would you mind taking out a set of plate and cup ? "
He ordered after acknowledging her.
"Sure" ,she replied and took out a plate along with a cup, handing it over to reiji.
Scrutinizing the cup and plate , reiji remarked, "Wrong. why would you choose this color of plate for this tea ? Good grief... you truly are ignorant time after time ".
After living with them , yui had accepted the sadistic and degrading remarks they made on her. Of course Reiji would mock her but sometimes he can be a bit harsh and hurtful.
His mocking of her manners was cut off by the ring of doorbell. He wondered who could be at this time . "oh dear , would you mind opening the door ? I'll be there in a while",reiji asked politely .
Surely, as she was told , yui strode towards the entrance door and opened it. Outside were some bats flying with a box . It looked like a package delivery, just with bats carrying it. She was at a loss of words. Should she receive this package? But how? She was soon saved from this dilemma as Reiji appeared there. He chided her about why she's standing there frozen but soon took notice of the bats.
Reiji mused about why are some familiars here with a box . His inquiry was catered that the box has been send by Christa , Subaru's mother , as a new year gift for Subaru.
Reiji was beyond surprised . Surely only subaru's mother was still alive out of the three wives of their father , however he found it out of her capabilities to send a gift to subaru as a form of affection, for her sanity was not all times sane. It was very unnatural. He took the box inside after signing the slip and the familiars went away. Reiji inspected the suspiciously heavy box in his hands. Yui wondered what could be inside the box . she was kinda happy for subaru as it seems his mother cared for him. At least someone had a mother here who cared enough to send a gift for their son.
"That's very unnatural for christa-sama to send a gift. What could be inside of this?", reiji observed. “What gift?" they heard light voice and saw kanato walking towards them with a scowl on his face .
" Reiji , why is it noisy here ? I can't sleep because of it !" , kanato shrieked as usual,
" And what is this box? "
"Oi, whatcha screaming out here for?"
they heard another voice and soon ayato appeared beside yui and reiji . He noticed the box in reiji's hand and went ahead for it.
"Hey what's this stuff 'bout?", ayato queried while inspecting the box in his hands. kanato appeared beside ayato too.
"Oh dear , Ayato.. please do not shake it. It's a new year's gift from Christa-sama for subaru. Now kindly give it back ",reiji rebuked.
" This package? ",kanato pondered.
"Exactly."
Only this confirmation was needed for ayato to go ahead .
"New year's gift? the fuck , let's open it!!" He started ripping the package hurriedly.
Seeing this , Reiji snatched it from his hands. "Ayato ! you must not open it without permission ! it is meant for subaru , remember? "
Ayato pouted , “but subaru's still asleep in his coffin and he's our little bro ! so ... "
" What belongs to subaru also belongs to us",kanato finished ayato's sentence.
In times like these does yui marvel at triplets' connection; they understand each other enough to finish each other's sentences. Though their understanding of things would leave people baffled, the triplets would stand firm in their credence.
"Exactly! and what belongs to family also belongs to yours truly! ", ayato bragged.
Though his logic is a bit ... off. Yui kept this to herself.
" That logic is not quite right I would say " , reiji intervened.
So even reiji agreed with yui's thoughts. Reiji's reasoning was cut off, "Shut up! besides if subaru loses his shit , you can just apologise for us ,right? hey kanato let's open this bad boy!"
" Agreed".
Afterwards both kanato and ayato snatched the box from reiji's hand.
Certainly when triplets decide something they don't easily back off . This yui had learned from experience now.
" Wha…!? Why must I clean up after you guys’ mischief…!? This isn’t a joke…!" reiji snatched the box again .
"Wha…!? Let go, Reiji! We’re trying to…see what’s inside…! Ugh…!",kanato struggled to pry reiji's hand off from the box.
It looked like a messy sibling fight where children would push each other for the same toy . Yui wondered if she should intervene. But which side would she take?
"…You can’t! Please wait until…Subaru has woken up…!",reiji preached while still struggling. Well yui kind of agrees with his reasoning here.
"Oh stop complainin’ ‘bout every single lil’ thing! A lil’ peek won’t hurt, right!?" Ayato refuted, he too was occupied in trying to steal the box with kanato.
Both sides were pushing each other. The box was getting pushed from left to right. If this goes on , then it would be high chance that the contents of the gift would break. So yui decided to intervene , "Ah..I think you all should stop fighting each other , Ayato kun how about -"
“haah? shut up chichinashi! nobody cares for your opinion! "
" Exactly, besides this isn't a fight ...!"
Again both of the triplets agreed with each other. At least she tried...
"Ugh... YOU! If you got your hands free , don't just stand there , help me in here! "
Hastily Reiji shouted to Yui.
"Oi , Reiji ! don't bring chichinashi with you in this! dammit why must you..be so...damn..persistent!" Ayato pulled aggressively.
" ...LET GO!!! ",
kanato shrieked. Both of their forces combined resulted in pushing the contents out of its already torn package . Yui watched in horror as a bottle flew over and smacked right with Laito's face.
"l..laito?!"
Reiji gasped.
"Talk about his timing…" Kanato murmured.
The bottle fell down with a thud but didn't broke . Yui felt relieved that the gift was safe.
"Gah... t-that hurts!?"Laito wailed . He put his hand away from his nose and saw blood .
"what the...!? I came to check what the ruckus was about, but what was that just now!? It smacked me right in the face…and it hurt a ton!" Laito sniffled, wiping the blood off his nose .
"Pfft…Ahahaha! Look at all that! He's got a nosebleed ! A Vampire’s got a nosebleed! That's hilarious!"
Ayato started laughing hystericaly while laito looked pissed.
" Hey Ayato kun ! Stop laughing! what's with this bottle ? and why would you throw it at me?! I won't let this slide if it doesn't have a solid reason!”
Reiji straighted up and folded his hands.
" We did not throw it , those two over there tried to unrightfully open Subaru's new year gift so it's contents went flying out , hitting you in the process".
" But you joined us as well , didn't you Reiji ?" kanato hissed sarcastically.
" Hmp. I simply tried to stop you two . Therefore I bear no responsibility whatsoever".
" Hah... Tone it down.."
Their argument was interrupted when another voice joined them . This time it was Shu , his eyes droopy like he was still sleeping.
"Do you have any idea what time it is ? You are no children so stop causing noises at the sleeping time . It's annoying”.
" Shu , you were woken up too? " Laito cried.
Hearing his voice, shu opened his eyes more. He was dumbfounded to see laito's face covered in blood.
"...Laito..why is your face covered in blood?"
" I know, right ? Ayato kun, kanato kun and Reiji are the ones who did it to me ! "
"It's not our fault! you just brought you face right in when the bottle went flying!" Ayato justified.
Shu saw a ripped a package and a bottle on the ground. Upon scrutinizing, everyone around Laito looked guilty. He walked towards the bottle and picked it , reading, "hm? .... demon world made ... vampire juice for kids?."
" Heh, it appears to be a new year's gift from subaru's mother," Reiji smirked towards shu.
Like the triplets, even though Reiji openly chastise his older brother and shu ignores him ,it seems to yui that they still somewhat appears to look up to each other.
"Ah? from my mother?"Just then Subaru appeared there.
Looks like everyone has woken up now . All eyes automatically went to subaru,making him embarrassed."I couldn't sleep from all the noise you guys were makin'. Anyway…Is that juice seriously from my mom?".
kanato deadpanned ," It has ‘Christa’ written as the sender’s name."
The reveal threw subaru off. He checked the paper lying on the floor.
"Aah!? Yeah... it is written on the paper…but why... But it looks like the bottle has gotten quite the beatin’ too…Ah! Even the case is in pieces!"
Subaru looked at every one stunned . Though he had an inkling of what could have went down.
Laito, still pissed off because of his broken nose decided to sell off Ayato,Kanato and reiji in his retaliation."
Ayato-kun, Kanato-kun and Reiji did that. Thanks to them, the bottle hit my delicate face and look at me now!" He held his nose to everyone. His usually pale face looked beaten up and his nose was bloody and red. Yui felt bad for him .
Ayato, surprised at laito's betrayal ,hissed “Laito! remember snitches get stitches!".
Shu was now getting tired again . Of course his brothers will cause a ruckus ,he should not be surprised at this point now.
" …Laito. Don’t get Subaru angry. If that brat goes on a rampage and destroys the manor again, I’m the one who gets yelled at",he sighed.
" Hey! who'r you calling a brat, huh!?", Subaru roared with his fists closed. Rather than calming him , it seems he enraged subaru even more. Shu signed again and mentioned to not try to fight as he feels sleepy.
Subaru huffed, "Tsk! whatever . Just don't try to drink it without my permission!".
It was a piece of cake to get on subaru's nerves, for he was your typical rage filled teenager, shy in some aspects contradicting his aghast self .
Subaru in actuality, did not trust this gift. Why now? it could've been an outcome of one of his mother's outburst. Besides.. he had heard some things about this vampire juice, along the lines that it triggers something inside of it's drinker. It's not like he's worried about these rascals of a brother he has .. just that he finds this vampire or whatever juice suspicious.
But the brothers think otherwise of his warning. To them Subaru is like a cute angry brat hence they never heed his warnings. Besides it's fun to rile him up.
"but aren't you practically implying us to drink it by saying no?", kanato piped in smugly.
" Huh?! course not!" Subaru countered.
Yui could see that he was getting flustered.
She wondered what would happen now .
“Geez ,quit whining y'all! Oi, chichinashi ! Come here for a sec! “,Ayato came in between yui and subaru; grabbing her hand . Yui had a bad feeling that the situation was turning against her .
Everyone looked at ayato and asked what he is trying to do now. Ayato confidently replied that they should just have yui taste the juice for them . This way they would be able to tell it's safe to drink or not .
But why me!? Yui ranted inwardly. I am not even a vampire! Their logic would always baffle Yui but for now she had to confront her situation. Hmm…What could she do now? Run away? Not possible. Hide? Not possible. Fight ? Soo not possible... Cry and beg ? No it feeds their sadistic side ...
Yui practically wanted to flee from there but she knows she can't as they'll catch her pretty quickly and who knows what punishment they would bestow upon her after that. So…she tried to reason with them,”umm how about not drinking it at all ?”
But her efforts were in vain as they all ignored her . She couldn't believe that they all voted for the taste test , even shu and reiji who doesn't go hand in hand with triplets absurd suggestions. Subaru did try to oppose them but he was too flustered to admit he cares and ended up pouting that he would not take responsibility for anything. Who knows maybe he wanted to test it out on her too.
So yui komori was now stuck in this scenario where she was surrounded by vampires,on top of that boys with a glass filled of unknown juice offered towards her. Ayato handed it to her,”Here you go, Chichinashi. Bottoms up!“.
“Um I think I should not drink this afterall..“
Laito interrupted. “No…? I am pretty sure you don’t have the right to refuse, though? Bitch-chan, this isn’t a request. We’re ordering you to drink it”.
Following kanato. ”Come on…I’m sure it’ll be delicious. Fufufu~ Don’t worry. We’ll have some later as well. Okay?“
Now yui didn't have a choice, She did the only thing she could and started praying. She prayed to God to forgive her for whatever sins she had committed if something were to happen to her. May her father be safe and May these cold hearted creatures find salvation .Maybe she should be optimistic that nothing would happen ,it's just a juice afterall, right? Her fate is upto her God now , she's surrendering it to him like when she stabbed herself.
Praying in her mind with a firm resolve, yui downed the glass in one go. Six pair of eyes watching every movement of her throat .
She slowly opened her eyes after a while, feeling the tension in the room and all the attention directed towards her. She didn't feel sick or anything. She was conscious too. She felt …completely fine . On the contrary the taste was delicious. Guess it was okay afterall. Yui thanked the gods above for saving her again .
“..O-Oi..you..'kay?" Subaru worried.
Yui noded." Yes! I am fine , I think it's safe to drink and it's surprisingly delicious as well! “. Again yui felt grateful for her God.
However all the boys looked shocked at her response. Guess they were anticipating her reaction in their own different weird ways . Ayato broke the silence,” it's delicious? che.. borin'! I was waiting to hear you say it tastes nasty with a scrunched nose! “
Kanato looked displeased. “ I was looking forward to your scrunched face with disgust ,I got my hopes up for nothing”. There they go again with their sadistic remarks...
Ayato took the glass in his hands and pour himself a glass .“well if chichinashi thinks it's good then it's safe”. His eyes widened at the taste. “She's right. This stuff's good! “ he took a swig again .
Seeing his brother happily drink it , kanato took out another glass and pour himself one, testing the taste .“…It might be quite good, actually. Say, you want some as well, Teddy?“
“Eeh ? It's that good? The colour seems suspicious so I was convinced the taste would be bad too”,laito said curiously. He went ahead and took a sip too ," oh? You're right. Contrary to it's looks ,It's very refreshing and light to drink.“
Reiji looked at the triplets and sighned. He was thinking it might be some kind of trick to poison them. Guess the poison test was not needed afterall . Walking towards them ,He went ahead and gave it a try. He eyes widen at the taste . The taste was very refined and exquisite, which, much to his delight, is his preference. “hm..well For a store bought product it certainly is of high quality “,he admitted while slurping on his drink.
Now Shu was amused as it's not easy to please reiji . If reiji deems it tasty then it certainly must be . “It may be store-bought, but it’s the Demon World we’re talking about. Haah…I wanted to give it a try as well, so I guess this works”. Shu went ahead and had a taste too. Hm... It really is fine. The juice had a very fine texture ,sweet but not too sweet with a hint of natural sourness .it eased down his throat,making him feel refreshed.
“Haah? what?" Subaru looked stupified at the turn of events. He still wasn't convinced enough especially after knowing that his mother send him this. Why would she even send him this..?
Yui offered him a glass , “Subaru would you have a taste too, it's your gift afterall" She smiled, thinking that subaru's mother must have wanted her son to try this juice .
“Ah…No, I am fine. Besides if recall something, this stuff has effects where it triggers something ... But you seem fine...“ Subaru mumbled the last part .
Just then ayato came in between subaru and yui holding his glass, “Oi, Chichinashi. Gimme one more”. He held the glass to yui . Obliging ,Yui poured him a drink.
Kanato came after him, holding his glass, “ Me too, please”.
Yui noticed kanato's usually pale face looked a bit pinkish now . Is the juice not suiting his body ? It might be tasty but everything excess turns out always a mess.
“I think you should still be careful , too much something is never good.“ Yui said in a sweat voice while pouring him a drink , kanato gets angry easily so she has to be careful.
But instead of kanato ,Laito responded chuckling, ”Are you worried we’ll drink too much? You’re always such a worrywrat, Bitch-chan~I
t’ll be fine! …One more glass for me too!“ He put his glass forward. Though she was not convinced with his reasoning , yui still poured him a drink .
It was as if she was back to community services in church, pouring juice and shakes to everyone. She didn't mind serving them food and drink as long as it's not her blood .
Subaru looked distressed .”Oi, you bastard! Pour it yourself!“ But his roar was cut off by shu's,“ Ooi, give me one too”.Along with reiji's, “Me too, if you’d be so kind.“
Now Yui was surrounded by them again…but this time serving them .
Except for her, they were all ignoring subaru at this point now. Agitated; subaru roared , “Did you even hear what I said just now!? …fuck! Don’t come cryin’ to me afterwards!“. He left them to stand in a quiet corner , watching from the corner of his eye , yui serving each of them and his buffoons of brothers drinking it , even competing for yui's serving.
He signed. This is not going to end well...
~Some time later~
A bottle rolls over.
Ayato watched it with his cat-like eyes. He had a fun time in drinking that delicious juice. It's sweetness was exquisite. Though not as exquisite as chichinashi's blood. Her blood gave him a different kind of hunger, a burning desire. Rather than extinguishing his thirst, it fires him to have more. That juice was a passing fun but it didn't stand a chance against her. He had came to know the certainty of this fact today. Nothing could ever compare to her... blood.
Ayato picked it up to see if there was anymore juice left but the bottle was empty. Seems like they had drank all of it . He tried to get up but his feet stumbled .That's odd. Somehow.. he was feeling a little light headed.
Ayato had had experienced light headedness before. That one time when he had sucked Yui's blood gently for a change as a reward for making him his favourite takoyaki . That day, he experienced a different kind of high. The high made up solely of a primal desire for pancake's pleasure.
His fangs and lips worked in a rhythm,sending shivers of pain and pleasure through her whole body. Her pulse palpated furiously , exciting him. He couldn't take his eyes off of it. In the impulse he kissed her pulse , leaving a trail of saliva and hickeys.The delicious taste of her skin didn't help either to stop him.
Her body writhed beneath him looked like a fragile flower dancing in the wind. Seducing the insects like him to suck it's heavenly nector. He pushed her body further into the bed with his own. The warmth of her delicious skin on his lips, their body pressed into each other in such a way that her warmth were passing to his coldness making him sweat and shiver at the same time.
When he bit her collarbone she was clinging to him. Her small frail hands gripped his shoulders and pulled him closer to her. Her compliance dazing him heavily, he kissed her. Her soft lips melted in his cold ones as if made for him. Soon her face became flushed due to the lack of oxygen, coloring it a beautiful shade of red. Unwillingly, he pulled himself back and went to her neck. Her scent became so intoxicating, he couldn't hold himself from plunging his fangs in her delicate nape.
He nipped at her blood from there . Sucked gently and deliberately slow to make her feel his fangs. Besides she liked to be sucked gently. He had an urge to see her face pleasured from his fangs. To his surprise, her hands stroked and pulled at his hair, bringing his fangs deeper and deeper. His eyes widened.
It seems she lost her reason too. The fact that she surrendered herself to the pleasure provided by him did something to him. A craving desire. Her pale curls spread across her face like a halo. Her eyes heavy lided as if in a euphoric bliss, face dyed a pink tint. Her pale skin was marked red from his lips. Her blood far sweeter on his tongue,melting in his mouth. So lost she looked in her euphoria that she even moaned his name .
“Ay-yato kunn... ”
Ayato couldn't hold himself back that night ,he started drinking hungrily. Her voice worked a ravenous hunger in him. He did wanted to prolong that moment but his wild instincts took over. Her captivating appearance and intoxicating blood drove him wild.
Her voice was so so sweet, her blood ,her body. Everything about Yui was so sweet that he couldn't help mark her as his. Yes...keep moaning my name. only mine...
She looked so captivating that he felt light headed that day . He felt he was drunk on her .Though she soon fainted afterwards. He stopped himself and tucked her under the covers and left her sleeping peacefully in her room.
But today's light headedness was different; less euphoric. This was more of a losing your balance kind of light headedness. When he stumbled while getting up , yui stepped forward instinctively. Ayato looked over towards her , his gaze travelled from her toes to head in a hazy manner. At last his gaze stopped at her face ,his eyes glossy and unfocused a bit .
Soon he furrowed his brows in confusion . What the hell? There were two of her .
”wait,pancake…you're ..did you duplicate yourself!? …There's, there's two of chichinashis!” He was seeing double even triple of her. Although confused, he started feeling excited at the aspect; even giddy .
“That doesn’t make any sense. …Could you be one of those…!? Those that disappear in a smokescreen…in Japanese,What are they called again?” Ayato pounded on his head lightly.
“... Ninjas.", Reiji provided him assistance, downing his glass.
The fuck ? Is it ninjas? Ayato asked himself…is she a ninja? That makes sense!...Of course she is a ninja! So that's the reason Ayato was seeing her at most random places after that night. She comes to him and gets close to him and whoosh ! Just inches away from his lips ,she disappears! And he thought he was dreaming! Now that makes sense ! It must've not been dreams , she's a ninja that's why she disappears after teasing him!
”Ah , that's it! That's it! A Ninja ! Oi pancake show me your real identity! “,Ayato demanded, stumbling towards her, he went for her straightaway. He would grab her and demand. How dare she tried to tease yours truly and hid the fact from him that she's a ninja! It's so cool ! But not when she hid from him , hence he would become a ninja too so she wouldn't be able to run away from him ! Yes!
When he tried to grab her , she disappeared again! The nerve! Ayato was having difficulty in grabbing her, he couldn't decipher the real yui from duplicate yui .
But that doesn't mean he's going to give up ,“ Oi !? don’t run away!“ He tried again and again ,“Huh? Oi, Chichinashi! I said no runnin’ away!”
Yui was starting to get worried for ayato. He was yelling not to run away but in fact she's been standing here from the moment ayato stumbled, she hadn't moved an inch . On the contrary, it was Ayato who was stumbling trying to grab air few feet away to her left . “but Ayato kun, I am not moving at all… ”,she tried to deny his accusations of running away.
“…Ah? You’re not? Don’t lie!“,he barked . Ayato knew better, she was teasing him again using her ninja skills, he has to show her who's the boss here . He started again.
Seeing Ayato , Yui frowned. What happened to him? He doesn't seem okay... Sure he does like to prank her but now it looks like he's really struggling. His movements were sloppy , not sharp as usual. His eyes looked glossy and his cheeks were tainted with a hint of red . That's when it hit yui . Isn't this what people call getting drunk ? right ?
