"“Have mercy baby, on a poor girl like me…"
“What the fuck are you singing, you absolute zombie psycho?”
Pyrrha was basically walking in place, bopping her head to some kind of inaudible beat in her head. She had her spear in one hand, care of Gideon just before her sudden appearance. The Commander was tied to a metal chair of some kind, clearly at the mercy of the lyctor in front of her, and it was all too clear what Pyrrha intended as she knelt down in front of her enemy of a lover. Those brown eyes were bright and eager, and even Wake could tell this was a different Pyrrha to last time.
"You know I’m falling, falling, falling at your feet…”
Placing the spear down, the woman-who-shouldn’t-be-there knelt in front of the chair to start working at the bonds that held her legs. Wake’s lips pursed, and she desperately wished she could kick their rescuer in the body of their persecutor, and she felt her muscles tense, getting ready to press forward as soon as they were released. Pyrrha, unfortunately, was wise to this trick, and clucked her tongue, one large hand running up the Commander’s leg, squeezing firmly just inside her knee. “Now, now, Commander, I’m just trying to help.”
There was an earthy chuckle as Wake spat down at her, and Pyrrha simply grinned, looking up at her out of his face as she continued untying the woman. “ I’m tingling right from my head to my toesssss so help me, help me, help me make the feeling go! ”
The frown on Wake’s face deepened, and she was frustrated at the sense of intrigue that lurked at the back of her mind. “You should probably see a medic for that.”
The chuckle turned into a laugh at the same moment as those legs were freed, and Wake kicked out with as much momentum as she could muster. Pyrrha, anticipating the movement, grabbed both legs, tucking one of them under each arm, leaving the Commander half supported by the chair, half supported by the lyctor.
She let Wake struggle, twisting and yelling and shouting and shoving, and held on, those brown eyes simply watching, soft and yet bright, enjoying the vibrant life in front of her. This was their normal; this was how they worked. This was how they were together.
Sweat dripped down both their foreheads when Wake finally gave in as much as she would ever be able, sinking into the chair and looking with fierce, sharp eyes at the other woman. Pyrrha’s voice then, still keeping a beat, was quieter somehow; a tone change.
This was the Pyrrha she usually saw. “ Cause when the lovin’ starts and the lights go down, and there’s not another living soul around… You woo me until the sun comes up and you say that you love me. ”
A yearning; a need; a loss. Mourning and pleading and wanting.
The Commander swore, and a hardness was back on her face, trained over many years of blood and war and death. “Like I would ever, you absolute freak of nature!”
One more laugh, a gentle caress on Wake’s inner thigh, and then Pyrrha was up, looming above her. Lips grazed across her own as words became breath against her skin. “ Say that you love me… ”
“What’s that tune?”
Pyrrha looks up at the person that currently is Camilla, and is unnerved by the keen clearness of the eyes that peer at her inquisitively. “What tune?”
“The one you were humming just now; you hum it a lot. Even the Warden has noticed.”
Focusing back on the dishes, there was a long pause, and the only reason she knew Cam was still there was because there was no exasperated huff or the sound of footsteps trailing away. The only noise was the clatter of the forks and the deep splashing of the water as her hands ran through it.
She didn’t look at them as she finally replied. “It’s nothing, kid. Don’t worry about it.”
Once Cam had left her, retreating to the bathroom to no doubt make some notes, Pyrrha stopped her movement and pressed her head against the cupboard closest to her, closing her eyes and ignoring the pit in the depth of her stomach.
The words were a breath across the shitty plex of the door. “I guess I’m not as strong as I used to be…” A pause . “It’ll be the end of me.”
“And say that you love me…”
