His neck snapped back and he whistled involuntarily. It was moments like this that made him glad he had his own dressing room.
Ever since he was a teenager, he'd dealt with these strange, involuntary movements and sounds. He did his best to hide them from others because he knew that it would just draw unwanted attention.
When he was in his dressing room, though, he didn't have to suppress them. He just hoped that the walls weren't too thin.
"Alles klar, Emcee. Bring es zusammen. (Alright, Emcee. Get it together.)" he told himself, staring into the mirror. "Kein Herumalbern mehr. Du musst eine Show abliefern. (No more fooling around. You have to put on a show.)"
His neck snapped back once more, so he took a deep breath. He felt the motions bubbling under his skin but held them back, even though it hurt.
No one would ever know.
