   Summary

   “Does anyone know whose child this is?” Nami and Zoro share a slightly concerned look, but neither comment. None of the citizens of Orange Town speak up to claim her. The screaming continues, accompanied by wild thrashing—Nami continues to hold her fast, biting back a curse when one of the child’s feet clips the side of her head. “Nobody? Really?” Luffy frowns, “Maybe she’s an orphan…”

   As if he can see the gears turning inside of his not-captain’s head, Zoro begins, “I know what you’re thinking, Luffy—and the answer is ‘no.’”

   Nami, however, seems to be on Luffy’s side—amazingly enough. “It couldn’t hurt, bringing her along. At least until we reach the next town—somewhere with a proper orphanage, that would be able to look after her.” Her face falls, “These people… They’re barely going to be able to look after themselves. All she’d be is another mouth to feed, another body to clothe—”
