Work Text:
Kise had his usual filming setup all ready to go when Aomine got home from work and made sure he had all his makeup out on the table in front of them, out of the view of the camera. He wasn’t sure how well Aomine was going to do, but he was willing to risk defacement for his videos. Besides, he couldn’t do that badly, right? He had faith in Aomine that he wouldn’t completely fuck up his face.
He texted his boyfriend to make sure that he was coming home and wasn’t stuck at work for another few hours like he sometimes was.
He got a quick affirmative text that he was nearly home and Kise smiled. He went onto Twitter and sent out a poll asking if he should stream or film and edit later. He didn’t say what the video was, leaving an air of mystery so he was curious as to what his fans would say.
Since Aomine was on his way and he’d be home soon, Kise set the poll to end an hour later, telling his fans to be quick.
He scrolled through Instagram, ignoring the twitter notifications for now and he’d check back later when his poll ended.
He’d settled back on the couch comfortably when he heard the door open. “I’m home, babe!” Aomine called.
“Welcome back!” Kise yelled back. “There’s some food in the fridge for you, by the way. And I’m gonna check Twitter in a while to see if we should stream it or just film and edit later.”
“I hope it’s a stream, I’ve never been on one of your streams before,” Aomine smirked, walking past Kise and kissing the top of his head. “Did you actually make food, by the way, or did you just get take-out again?”
“Mmm, guess,” Kise winked.
Aomine paused at the fridge and looked over his shoulder. “If I don’t see a take-out container, I will be shocked.”
“You are so mean to me, Aominecchi,” Kise pouted, looking over the couch at him.
“Am I?” Aomine snorted. “You say that, as you know very well that there’s a container from our favorite place in the fucking fridge.”
“Yeah, but are you complaining?”
“Okay, no, but...” Aomine rolled his eyes, putting the food into the microwave to heat it up. “One of us should probably learn to cook sometime, because we spend half of our budget on take-out.”
“Eventually, but for now we can afford to do that,” Kise shrugged. “Now come and snuggle with me before we have to film.”
“Fine, fine,” Aomine sighed dramatically, acting like snuggling was a chore. “Can I watch part of my show while we do? And can I eat?”
“Sure, do whatever you want, Aominecchi,” Kise smiled.
Aomine plopped down on the other end of the couch before Kise could protest. “Hey...” he pouted.
“I gotta eat,” Aomine grumbled through a mouthful of noodles. “And you know that filming drains me, so...” He turned on the TV, looking at Kise out of the corner of his eyes.
Kise just pouted and threw his feet over Aomine’s lap. He idly took a photo of Aomine eating and debated posting it on his twitter or Instagram. But... Aomine looked so cute eating noodles that Kise decided that picture was just for him.
Plus Aomine had a rep to maintain and being a lazy bones who sat down as soon as he got home and ate junk food as opposed to healthy food like a professional athlete should wasn’t the greatest example. Kise smiled to himself and just admired his boyfriend.
Aomine glanced over at him and raised an eyebrow. A garbled “What?” came out of his mouth around the noodles.
Kise giggled. “You’re just cute, is all.”
Aomine’s eyebrows scrunched. “I am not cute and I would thank you to refrain from using that word to describe me.”
“Mmm, how about I don’t?” Kise shrugged. “Cause you are cute to me.”
Aomine snorted. “Whatever, weirdo.”
The low sound of Aomine’s show drowned out Kise’s inner chatter but his excitement for filming with his boyfriend kept mounting. He idly checked twitter and saw that the poll was split basically half-and-half with just 51% wanting him to stream it.
A part of him hoped that the streaming would win, because he wanted the world to see how adorably awkward his boyfriend was. He scrolled through the comments, noticing that many of his fans were wondering what it was he was going to put out.
He bit his lip, feeling a bit mischievous. In a comment to the poll, even though it still had a few minutes, he put an eyes emoji as well as the fingernail painting emoji. Perhaps that would tip the scales, if they knew what he was talking about.
Though, it was an old challenge and he was just now jumping onto the bandwagon. But it was going to be fun and that’s why he wanted to do it.
The streaming votes started going up, and he chuckled to himself.
“What?” Aomine asked, his noodles set to the side.,
“Oh, just wondering if I'm going to stream or film and then edit later,” Kise shrugged. “I set up a poll on twitter and seeing what my fans think I should do.”
Aomine grunted. “And this is going to be for the video you and I are making? Together?”
“Yep. So, depending on what the poll says, you might be live in front of thousands of people.”
The face Aomine made was priceless. It was a mix of disgust and disbelief and it made Kise smile. “That sounds awful, I can’t believe you do that for a living.”
Kise shrugged. “Come on, Aominecchi, it’ll be fun!”
“I know, but I'm still wondering how the hell I'm going to survive this.”
“Awww, babe, are you nervous?” Kise cocked his head to the side and crawled up to curl next to Aomine.
He swung his arm around Kise’s shoulders, drawing him closer. “I dunno, maybe. I mean... I haven’t done something like that, y’know?”
“Aominecchi, you’ve been on a camera in front of thousands of people before. And you’ve played basketball in front of thousands of people before. On camera.”
“Well, yeah, but that’s like... It’s not exclusively on me...”
“I beg to differ,” Kise snorted. “You get the ball the most, I would say. And that’s why you’re the coolest.” He kissed Aomine’s shoulder lightly. “You’ll do fine. And, honestly, we can set it up so they won’t see your face if you want.”
Aomine blinked. “You can do that?”
“Yeah, we can just make it so that it’ll show my face as you put the makeup on. And, I mean, your hands too.”
Aomine hummed. “I mean... It would be nice for the fans to know that we’re together, but... I dunno, being on camera does make me nervous... But...”
“We still have a while before we start, so you think about it and let me know, okay? But the verdict is in on whether I stream or edit later.”
“Oh? What is it?”
Kise clicked on his poll. “Stream it is,” he said, smiling. He made another quick tweet for his fans to keep an eye out for when he started the stream, as it would be soon. “Are you ready for this, Aominecchi?”
“As ready as I’ll ever be, I guess,” Aomine sighed. “Also... Is this you finally making it public that we’re a couple? Because honestly my manager might have some things to say about it.”
“Oh, and what would those things be?” Kise raised an eyebrow
“Probably something along the lines of ‘fucking finally, it took you long enough.’ She’s been wanting us to go public for a while.”
Kise blinked. “Really? I wouldn’t have thought that, considering you’re a super ‘eligible bachelor,’ right?” He made air quotes with his fingers, smirking at his boyfriend.
“You know, I don’t have to do this video with you,” Aomine rolled his eyes. “I am choosing to because I am a good boyfriend and want to help you make content, but I could very easily just walk away from that.”
“Yes, yes, thank you, Aomine-sama, for gracing me with your presence today.” Kise kissed the back of Aomine’s hand exaggeratedly.
“That’s what I thought,” Aomine nodded. “Now, what do we need to do to set up your shit?”
“It’s already all set up, if you want to do a couple test shots we can.”
“Sure. Is what I’m wearing ok or do you want me to change?”
Kise shrugged, going over to his set up. He made sure that his mic was muted and started setting up his stream on the website, putting up the waiting screen. He sent a quick tweet that he was going to start his stream momentarily, and the link to it.
“It’s up to you, honestly, whatever you are comfortable in is fine. Also, what’s your decision? Do you want to show your face? Do you want people to know that we’re together?” he asked Aomine.
He looked at the chat and saw that people were already starting to flood in, and he was excited about that. They were in for a real treat.
Aomine thought for another few seconds before he nodded. “Of course I do. I mean, I was just thinking and I’ve seen the fanfictions people write of you with other youtubers like Takao. Cuz I know you guys have done streams together and people think that you have good chemistry or whatever. I want them to know that you are mine. And Takao can fuck right off.”
Kise was gobsmacked that somehow Aomine had found those. He of course knew about them as well, he’d admittedly read a few just to see what people thought he and Takao would be like together. Some were actually very well written and he’d enjoyed them. He and Takao actually sent the good ones to each other, and it was fun to talk about what their fans were thinking.
“Ok, well then. Good to know,” Kise nodded. “Do you want to start in the frame with me or do you want to come into it with a dramatic reveal?”
“Of course it’s gotta be the dramatic reveal, right?” Aomine raised an eyebrow. “And you’re sure what I’m wearing right now is okay?”
“Yes, you look very handsome, as always, Aominecchi,” Kise nodded, adjusting the lighting a bit to give his skin that glowy look. He wasn’t wearing any makeup right now, but he still needed to look good. He turned on his camera, just to adjust everything to come together, but making sure that it didn’t show on his stream yet. He couldn’t ruin the surprise before it came time. “Come into the frame really quick so I can make sure that we’ll both fit.”
Aomine scooted into the frame on a chair, and Kise nodded.
“Ok, looks good, now let’s get started, shall we?” he looked at Aomine. “Go and stand over there until I give you the cue to come in, ok? We'll make this as dramatic as possible.”
“As we should,” Aomine smirked.
Kise took a deep breath before unmuting his mic and turning on his camera on the stream. “Hellooooo everyone!” he waved, smiling brightly. “I am so excited for this stream today, as it is very special. As you can tell by the title, my boyfriend is doing my makeup today. So, it’ll be a huge treat for all of you, as you will finally see my boyfriend, and no it is not Takao. He and I are just besties, and both of us have different boyfriends.”
The chat was moving very quickly and Kise couldn’t keep up with all of it, but he caught a few questions being asked. “My boyfriend has zero knowledge of makeup, so that’s why this will be especially fun. And before I reveal him, any speculations as to who he is?” Kise smirked.
He looked over at Aomine, who gave him a grumpy look. He laughed. “Sorry, he’s just over there and gave me a look that said he just wants to come over. Not yet. I want to see who the chat thinks he is.”
Most of the chat members guessed outrageous people that just made Kise laugh, most of them were some of his streaming friends, like Takao and Kuroko among others. “None of you are correct, but I’ll give you one hint. You might have seen him on TV before if you like sports.”
The chat started going crazy with random sports stars’ names, some of them so far-fetched that it made Kise laugh out loud. But those viewers who had been with Kise from the beginning were actually guessing basketball stars because they knew he’d played in high school. But none of them were guessing Aomine, which surprised Kise.
“Ok, none of you have gotten it right yet, which surprises me. I wonder if you think he’s out of my league or something. Because this might blow some of your minds, with how famous he is.”
He looked over at Aomine, who gave him a hopeful look as if to ask if it was time for him to come into the frame. “Ok, I hope chat is ready, because I think he’s going to come over whether I tell him to or not, he looks ready,” Kise laughed. “Get over here, you goof.”
Aomine practically leaped into the frame, smiling widely as he pressed a kiss to Kise’s cheek. Kise definitely hadn’t been expecting that, but the chat sure loved it, as they started going crazy, especially basketball fans who never would have guessed that it was Aomine.
“What’s up, I’m Aomine Daiki,” Aomine introduced himself, saluting at the camera. “Pro baller, just in case you didn’t know. And boyfriend to this weirdo who makes a living off of making videos, not that I blame him with his looks.”
“Ok, ok, that’s enough dragging me,” Kise rolled his eyes. “I know none of you believe it, but it’s true! We’ve been dating for a while. And now...” he paused for dramatic effect. “Aomine is going to do my makeup to the best of his ability, which I'm going to guess is not very good.”
“I would... resent that statement, but honestly I can’t because I have zero idea of what any of this is,” Aomine said, looking at all the makeup on the counter in front of him.
“So, my dear chat,” Kise said, clapping his hands. “It is time for the chaos to begin, and I’m sure that none of you will steer Daiki in a weird way, right?” he raised an eyebrow.
In the video, he saw Aomine freeze for a moment and look at him like a deer in headlights. A little too late, he realized that was pretty much the first time he’d said Aomine’s first name other than when they were having sex. He felt himself blush a little bit, but he tried to hide it.
“Ok, now let’s get going! Aomine, I am going to close my eyes and you are going to do whatever you think is appropriate for my face. And I expect to look absolutely beautiful when this is done, you hear?” Kise pouted at his boyfriend before closing his eyes.
“I am genuinely surprised that you trust me enough for me to do this,” Aomine muttered, and Kise heard him fumbling around with the makeup on the counter.
“Well, of course I would, why wouldn’t I?” Kise scrunched his eyebrows. “We’ve been together for how long now?”
“...Well, yeah but I have no idea what I'm doing,” Aomine grumbled under his breath. He was quiet for a moment and Kise assumed that he was reading the chat. “‘Start with foundation.’ You say that like I know what the fuck foundation is,” Aomine snorted.
“Daiki, language!” Kise laughed. Though his streams were mostly family friendly, he did swear on occasion, and apparently this was going to be one of those because his boyfriend was here.
“Sorry, sorry,” Aomine rolled his eyes. “Is this it?” He showed the camera a bottle of something. “Well it’s not my fault if this doesn’t match his face, does it, chat member? He’s the one who this belongs to. I’m just here to smear it on his face.”
Kise cocked his head to the side. “I don’t like the way you phrased any of that sentence.”
“Shut up and close your mouth,” Aomine ordered, gently grabbing Kise’s chin to pull it up. He spread something onto Kise’s face, and Kise wanted to berate him for not putting on primer first, but of course his fans didn’t know his skin routine. And it’s not like Aomine was going to follow them anyway.
“Ok, next is eye shadow?” Aomine asked, after he’d put something goopy all over Kise’s face. “I hope you realize you aren’t going to look very good with how I'm doing this, babe.”
Kise shrugged. “And I hope you realize I don’t care, because we’re doing this for the views, you know.”
“What, you don’t want me doing your makeup every day?” Aomine snorted.
“I mean... if you do a good job then maybe, but I think the real question is would you want to do my makeup every day?”
“Hell no, I know how early you get up to get your whole routine done,” Aomine denied him flat out.
Kise laughed. “Yeah, I thought so.” He felt Aomine brushing on something to his eyelids, and he just hoped that it was a good color for him. But then again Aomine was color blind, so for all he knew, he was making Kise look like an absolute clown.
“Huh?” Aomine barked suddenly, and Kise assumed that the chat noted something. “That’s not...? How the fuck is that not?”
Kise couldn’t help but giggle. “Did you think it was red but it’s actually green or something?”
“No, it’s fucking brown, no matter what the chat says,” Aomine growled. “And I don’t care, because I think he looks good, so there, chat.”
Kise could imagine him sticking his tongue out like a child, because he would. “Not gonna lie, Daiki, that makes me a little nervous because what I think looks good and what you think looks good are very different.”
“Hey, you were the one who suggested this in the first place, and you said that you trusted me so. This is all your fault if you look bad.”
Kise shrugged. “I guess you’re right, but that doesn’t mean I'm going to hate it, because you’re the one who gave me the look.”
As soon as the words left his mouth, he could imagine the chat blowing up at how cheesy he was being, and Aomine stopped moving. “Daiki?” Kise raised an eyebrow.
“What the fuck, that was so stupid, you can’t just say that to me, what the fuck. Now I’m really going to fuck up your look because I can’t even with you right now.”
Kise laughed, relishing in Aomine’s hands on his face. They never pulled at his skin too much, nor made him uncomfortable in any way. He loved this man with his whole heart, and he was so grateful that they’d found each other.
The two of them were quiet for a few minutes, minus Kise just humming a tune absently.
“Have I ever told you how fucking cute you are when you just sing around the house?” Aomine asked quietly, so quietly that Kise wasn’t sure if he’d forgotten that they were streaming or if he just wanted it to be for Kise.
Kise smiled, echoing Aomine’s noise level. “Yes, but I like that it makes you happy because I do it when I'm happy.”
Aomine brushed his fingers over Kise’s lips lightly, probably wanting to kiss him, but not going through with it because of the stream. Kise whined slightly, leaning forward a bit. “Later,” Aomine whispered.
“Ok, I think I'm done, let’s have the chat take a look before the man of honor himself before you look, Kise.” Aomine made affirmative and annoyed noises at what he was reading in the chat for a few moments. “Listen, I really don’t think it’s that bad, chat. This man is a model, and he is going to look good no matter what, okay? You can look now, babe.”
Kise slightly cracked open one of his eyes, looking over at Aomine before he looked at the camera. “Are you sure you’re done and I don’t look completely hideous?” he asked.
“C’mon, I'm not that kind of boyfriend,” Aomine scoffed.
“Ok, I'm trusting you.” Kise turned toward the camera and opened his eyes fully before completely cracking up.
He’d known that Aomine was color blind, but this was just... something else. His eye shadow was a bright green and above on his brow bone was the ugliest shade of purple Kise had ever seen (he’d certainly never used that part of any of his palates before). It was paired with the gaudiest shade of burgundy for the blush, and Aomine had used way too much, which made Kise look sickly. His foundation was clumpy and gross looking, and the wings on the eyeliner were so uneven that Kise couldn’t believe Aomine hadn’t noticed. His lips were lined with black, for some reason, and the dark purple lipstick didn’t do him any favors.
“Babe, I literally look like a corpse!” Kise got through his laughter. “How did you make me look this sickly?!”
Aomine rubbed the back of his head awkwardly. “Listen, you look fine to me. I dunno why you’re complaining.”
“I’m not, it’s just... it’s not an every-day look, y’know? It’s more of a Halloween party look. Although... if you’re up to it, you should do my makeup for any Halloween parties our friends invite us to this year.”
“Whatever, I still think you look great,” Aomine grumped.
“Yeah, yeah, I think you did a good job, despite all your problems with colors. Though... we might need to go over what you think is okay because this is... definitely something.” Kise couldn’t stop looking at the makeup on his face and honestly as hideous as it was, he loved it.
“Well, anyway, that is it for the stream, I hope you guys enjoyed watching my boyfriend flounder with my makeup, and honestly if any of you want to take inspo from this look, please tag me in it later!” Kise smiled. “And you should tag Aomine too, because I’m sure he’d love to see it too, right Daiki?”
“Don’t you drag me into that!” Aomine groaned from where he’d gone off camera.
Kise laughed, speaking to his chat. “Definitely do tag him, he’s just being a grump. Thanks for tuning in, everyone, and I’ll see you next time!” Kise waved as he turned off his stream and slumped back into the chair.
Aomine handed him a water bottle, drinking one himself.
“Thanks, babe,” Kise grinned at him. “C’mere.” He gently grabbed the back of Aomine’s neck and pressed a soft kiss to his lips. “Seriously, thank you for going along with this unhinged idea I had. You’re such a good sport.”
Aomine chuckled against his lips, pressing them together again. “I know, I'm the best boyfriend you’ll ever have.”
“C’mon, let’s take a picture before all your hard work goes to waste!” Kise slung his arm over Aomine’s shoulder, bringing their faces together. Aomine had remnants of Kise’s lipstick on his, which made the picture even funnier, and Kise adored it.
He posted it to his social media accounts, tagging Aomine in them and saying what a wonderful boyfriend he was for going along with his shenanigans. He really had struck gold with this muscle man, and he wouldn’t have it any other way.
