    Summary

Due to a phenomenon, still yet to be explained, the names of a person’s soulmates appeared on their skin when they were born and faded when they died. A joined, scribble of a ‘Tony’ marked Clint’s left ankle, a lowercase, neater print reading ‘steve’ graced his right ankle, a Nathaniel, Nathan, Natasha, or Natalie had tattooed his right arm with a bold, cursive ‘Nat’, and a thick arial-esque ‘PHIL’ was stamped on the left side of his chest. It was unheard of to reach eighteen without a name ; everyone was born with at least one soulmate, romantic or platonic, and there was no limit to how many names a person could receive. In fact, some cultures wore the names of their entire family. Clint hadn’t met any of his soulmates, but his left ankle itched, his right was forever cold, his arm bruised easily, and his chest felt warm to his touch. It reminded Clint that he was alive. His soulmates gave him a reason to wake up every morning and survive.

(Aka yet another Phil/Clint soulmate au)
