Summary
There’s a noticeable silence, before he hears rushed footsteps make their way towards the kitchen. Before he can move to start preparing the tahdig, he’s assaulted with the overwhelming scent of oud and roasted coffee beans that fills the room. It’s a scent he knows well, because how could you share a den with an alpha and not know their scent, but Alhaitham has never let his pheromones out so aggressively. The scent is pungent and full of interest and most embarrassingly of all, he can feel himself start to slick in response.
He turns, fully intent on voicing his bewilderment, but his questions die in his throat as he stares at Alhaitham looming in the doorway. His junior’s shoulders are shaking in effort even as he stands stationary. Before he can focus too hard on that though, he catches the alpha’s gorgeous teal eyes and draws a sharp breath. Those eyes usually full of sharp clarity are fogged, red and gold diamond pupils blown as they rake up and down Kaveh’s body.
