Like, those months pregnant with Elendira and living with Knives were probably a dream come true to Vash. It really was his Eden. Then Elendira is born and all those terrible thoughts come back.Vash’s low mood at the time of the post-birth was probably PPD/the baby blues. I’m a little surprised a medical staff member didn’t give them a pamphlet or something. Or that the OBGYN didn’t bring this up. On the other hand if Dr. Conrad was handling things then it sort of makes sense. I doubt that guy’s medical license has anything to do with babies or children.
But while I can empathize with Vash it doesn’t change the fact that he DID run away. Was Knives wrong to get defensive and caustic with Vash? Yes. Is Legato wrong in saying Vash abandoned his daughter? Probably not. If this was IRL or ‘Reddit AITA?’ People would be telling Vash “YTA. You just left you daughter and you don’t pay child support… blah blah blah…”
