   Summary

   1973 seemed to be a promising year for Leland McKinney up until the disappearance of his good friend, Maria Flores. With her case cusping cold, Maria’s younger sister, Ana, gathers a group of friends to aid her in the search. Leland travels to Muerto County knowing he may not find his friend. What he doesn’t know is that that as he delves deeper into the mystery he’ll find sinister secrets festering beneath the surface of a rural town, an idyllic family and a man who has him questioning how monsters are made.
