Summary
Baldur's Gate is saved. Faerûn and Toril are safe from the Absolute, thanks to the efforts of Seraph Everember and their party. Each of the party has gone their own ways. Gale was convinced to abandon his pursuit of power and give the crown to Mystra. Lae'Zel left with Orpheus to free her people. Astarion fled the sun to the Underdark. Shadowheart decided to make her own fate.
The victory was not without its costs, though. Karlach's infernal engine is still unable to survive in the prime material plane, something Seraph had to come to terms with as her lover. Wyll has to serve Mizora, and will become a lemure once he dies. And Seraph bought the victory dearly. They gave up their body and life as a tiefling to make sure everybody else could keep on living and became an illithid. A Mind Flayer. The very thing they fought to avoid becoming.
Seeing no other way out, they chose to return to Avernus with Karlach and Wyll, and fight for Karlach's freedom. What the future holds, none of them know. Tomorrow is not promised, but as long as Karlach and Seraph have each other, they can handle anything.
