Work Text:

William felt a weight in his stomach. He could see the cold air move as he took another deep breath.

“So, what did you want to tell me Will?” Vyncen asked, tying to figure out what Will wanted, taking him out to a park in the middle of December.

“Just wait, we’re almost there.” Will responds, holding Vyncent’s hand, able to feel the warmth on his skin even through the knitted gloves.

William takes a turn off the beaten path and heads towards a clearing near a set of trees.

Their footsteps are left behind them as they travel through the snow, pressing further into the pine.

As the sounds of the birds in the forest grow stronger, enter a clearing in the woods where the light of the setting sun shines onto the snow near the center.

Vyncent walks with William towards the spot of light in the patch and turns to look up at Will once they stop there, feeling as he picks up both of his hands, looking him in the eyes.

“I know I fucked up.. a lot, and I know I’ve made so many mistakes. I know I’ve been petty, and hateful, and..”

William takes a shaky breath and sighs.

“I know I’ve hurt you, I know I’ve hurt you more than hell it’s self. And I know you’ve had to watch me die, over, and over, and over again.”

His eyes move down to look at the snow on the floor in shame.

“But I know you’ve been there for me.”

He looks back up to Vincent, gazing into his blue eyes, illuminated by the light.

“I know you’ve been there every time, been by my side for everything. And even when you couldn’t help me, you still tried to.. And you’re an idiot for that.”

Will chuckles a little, a smile creeping onto his face.

“I don’t know why you stayed, why you kept trying to help me, why you still want to be my friend, but I still know one thing..”

William gets down onto one knee and looks at Vyncent with a nervous smile.

“Vyncent.. I- I love you.. and I don’t think I’ll ever stop loving you.”

Vyncent’s eyes seem to widen, his jaw clenching to his teeth and his eye brows raising.

“Vyncent. Would you.. like to be my boyfriend…?”

Will asks, himself starting to shake, and not just from the cold.

“Will, I…”

Vyncent looks around at the trees, watching as the sunset has set and looking back to Will who’s own hair and eyes glow in the night light.

“I… yes. I’d like that a lot.” Vincent replies, giggling and clenching Will’s hands harder.

He had never though of him and Will in a relationship, but the more he thought about it, the more he liked the idea.

William and Vyncent take just a mere moment in silence, gazing into each other’s eyes, before will lightly placed his hands Vyncent’s head, leaning in for a kiss. Vyncent shocked at first, eyes widened, before closing his eyes and placing his hands on top of the other’s.

The two’s mouth’s embrace for a warm moment in the cold winter air, before slowly pulling away from the other.

Will giggles, “You don’t know how long I’ve been wanting to do that.” He says, tears starting to well up in his eyes from his dream come true.

“I never knew I wanted it.” Vyncent smiles, and pulls will in for a hug.

William’s arms fall to his side limp, before he brings them up and hugs Vyncent back.

And as the two are finally together, all seems right on prime, even if for just that moment.
