Work Text:
The birds were chirping, that's the first thing Wll notices when he wakes up. The second thing, the warmth on his chest. The third thing was the dark hair tickling his nose. He groaned, and slowly sat up, Nico still clinging onto his chest.
He rubs his eyes, and turns to look at the time. 6:21AM, it reads. Will yawns and runs a hand through Nico’s messy hair. He shifted, before his eyes slowly fluttered open.
“W’ll?” He mutters, “Good morning.” Will smiles, “It's still early, you can go back to sleep.” Nico scoots up, closer onto Will’s chest, half sitting up. He smiles at Nico, and wraps his arms around his stomach, before gently kissing the top of his head.
Nico hums, “You're warm.” Will raises an eyebrow, “Wow, really? Never knew.”
Nico nudges him weakly, “Shuddup, you know what I mean.”
There's another beat of silence before Nico sits up. His hair is messy, and pieces stick out. Will has to hold back his laugh as he brushes his hand through it. Nico’s wearing his shirt, a tad too oversized on him, and flannel pants.
Nico leans into the touch, yawning. “It’s too early, you woke me up” He says with fake annoyance. Will raises an eyebrow “Well, I'm truly sorry about that.” He jokes, pulling Nico towards him again, as they fall into the pillows.
Will doesn't think the sight will ever get old. Nico’s eyes are still slightly glazy from sleep, his warm hands and legs, Will could stay there forever. He cups one of his hands on Nicos cheek, and pushes some hair out of his face with the other.
“I love you.” Nico smiles. “I love you too.”
Then Nico’s lips are on his, gentle, and warm. A hand runs through his hair, messing with the curls, and Nico pulls him impossibly closer, like he's being deprived. Its slow, and lazy, the way they kiss. Too early in the morning to put in effort, but nevertheless Will loves it.
Nico’s warm, so warm. WIll feels like he's being drugged, the way Nico holds him close. Nico presses back harder again, before leaning back to catch his breath. His lips are red and puffed, and his hair even messier than before.
Will leans in and kisses his forehead, before pulling him back in. Nicos head lay on his chest, and his arms wrapped around his waist. He looked peaceful, as sleep slowly took him back. Will smiled, letting himself drift off as the birds kept chirping.
