    Summary

    Jin Guangyao, in a frantic attempt to save himself, puts a guqin string against Jin Ling's throat. Lan Wangji follows Wei Wuxian's eye signal to ambush Jin Guangyao and sever his right hand from the wrist.
    Huaisang plays the final trump card as he tricks Xichen into killing Guangyao. Guangyao dies and the temple crumbles.
    As the new day dawns, the Lan and Jiang clans rush to the temple, along with the remaining juniors.
    Seeing them worried, Wei Wuxian and Lan Wangji assure them that they are alright. They leave the temple, Wangji requesting Wen Ning to bring both Jingyi and Sizhui to the secluded place.
    Before Wen Ning arrives, Wei Wuxian and Lan Wangji engage in a heart to heart talk, and Wei Wuxian reveals that he had always been scared to come to terms with his feelings. He also apologizes for being a terrible dad to Jingyi. Eventually , the four of them share a family hug, but Jingyi is a bit cross with Wei Wuxian.
    Jingyi and Sizhui leave for Gusu with Wen Ning , and Wei Wuxian and Lan Wangji share a tender moment in the forest before returning to the temple ruins. It is during this time Wei Wuxian learns the truth about the scar on Wangji's abdomen.
