Work Text:
‘Come to the living there is something important we need to talk about’ Was the text Shotaro sent in the group chat without any other context or clue as to what was happening. Concerned, all of the members rushed to meet Shotaro in the kitchen expecting the worst. Pleased with how quickly the members responded to his text, Shotaro began by saying,” So I’m sure that you are all wondering why I called you.”
“Yeah, is everything okay hyung?” Sungchan asked, checking Shotaro for any injuries.
“Everything is fine but since this is our first holiday season together as a group it is of utmost importance that we do it right,” Shotaro announced, excitedly clapping his hands.
“What?” Anton asked, staring at Shotaro like he had a second head.
“You called an emergency meeting about Christmas?” Eunseok asked in disbelief.
“Yes. Now I'm sure you are wondering what our first holiday season entails. So personally I’m thinking we need to decorate the dorm, make or maybe order holiday food, and most importantly matching outfits!”Shotaro eagerly declared, looking at the members expectantly.
“Are you being serious?” Eunseok double-checked.
“Yes,” Shotaro said smiling.
“In that case yeah sounds fun!” Wonbin agreed.
“We should all get matching Pajamas to wear!” Sohee eagerly suggested.
“Yes!” Seunghan enthusiastically agreed, jumping up and down.
“We could get a Christmas tree for the living room,” Sungchan suggested, getting caught up in the excitement.
“Oh, and I can make bulgogi and sweet potato noodles for when we celebrate,” Eunseok volunteered.
“And KFC!” Shotaro eagerly added.
“What?” Anton asked, staring at him.
“For Christmas you get KFC,” Shotaro responded like it was the most obvious thing.
“I have never heard of that,” Sohee said, also giving Shotaro a look.
“It’s a Japanese thing. It doesn’t have to be KFC but they are popular. Any fried chicken is fine,” Shotaro explained.
“Alright that sounds good,” Anton agreed.
“Ah I’m so excited,” Seunghan giggled.
“When is a good time that we can all be together, decorate and everything?” Wonbin asked.
“Next Wednesday we have the day off so we can decorate and everything then,” Sungchan suggested.
“Sounds good,” Shotaro happily agreed.
“Yeah,” Anton agreed.
“Does anyone want to help me pick out matching pajamas for the group?” Shotaro asked.
“I’ll help hyung,” Sohee volunteered.
“Me too!” Seunghan shouted.
“Yay! The rest of you leave now,” Shotaro commanded, gesturing at the door.
“What? Why?” Sungchan asked, confused as Shotaro pulled his arm trying to shoo him.
“So we can pick out the pajamas without you,” Shotaro responded, tugging on Sungchan’s arm.
“Wait here!” Shotaro shouted running to his room and grabbing his laptop before coming back to meet Sohee and Seunghan to pick out the group's matching pajamas. The three of them spent over an hour sorting through all the different options for Christmas pajamas. Finally, they settled on a pair of green pajamas covered in reindeer with matching tops and bottoms. “We should take a group photo and send it to our friends and family!” Sohee suggested, jumping around the kitchen in joy.
“Oh, that sounds like a good idea. We can take the picture when we are decorating since the pajamas should arrive before then,” Shotaro agreed.
With each passing day, Shotaro was more and more worried that the decorations and pajamas wouldn’t be there on time but finally on Tuesday afternoon the packages arrived. “Hyung, there are boxes for you,” Wonbin called, walking into Shotaro’s room.
“Yay! Sohee-yah Seunghan-ah come help me,” Shotaro shouted, running to the front hall to get the packages.
The two of them ran out to greet Shotaro helping him grab all the boxes and take them into his room. “Oh, can I see?” Wonbin asked, lounging on Shotaro’s bed.
“No not yet” Shotaro refused, clutching his boxes close.
“Why not?” Wonbin whined, clinging to Shotaro’s arm.
“It’s a surprise you can see tomorrow. Now go away,” Shotaro scolded, shooing Wonbin away.
“Wake up! Wake up! Wake Up!” Shotaro shrieked, running around the dorm and waking everyone up.
“Hyung what’s happening?” Sungchan asked, rubbing his eyes in confusion.
“We are doing Christmas decorations. Put on your pajamas,” Shotaro shouted, throwing Sungchan’s pajamas at him before running off to find the others.
Twenty minutes later all of RIIZE was gathered in the kitchen room for breakfast wearing matching Christmas pajamas. Seeing all of them matching Shotaro let out a happy squeal pulling out his phone to take photos. “Hyung, why are you so happy?” Anton asked, smiling for a picture.
“We all match. Also um I haven’t really been able to celebrate Christmas with anyone other than Sungchan in a couple of years which was really nice but I miss being surrounded by people I care about and doing random holiday things like wearing matching holiday outfits and eating fried chicken,” Shotaro sheepishly explained, getting sappy.
“Hyung, that’s so sweet,” Wonbin cooed, pinching Shotaro on the cheeks.
“I’m happy to spend this time celebrating with you guys too,” Seunghan agreed, smiling at all of the members.
“Ah, this is getting too sappy. I'm gonna cry quick, let's change the subject,” Sungchan said, pretending to wipe away tears.
“Alright um after breakfast we can decorate the dorm with all the decorations you guys got,” Eunseok suggested, getting a little emotional himself.
After finishing breakfast the seven of them dug through the numerous packages of decorations turning the dorm into a winter wonderland with lights and paper snowflakes covering the walls of the dorm.
