Charlotte and Henry were at the amusement park and Henry had finally convinced her to go on the highest, scariest, and loopiest roller coaster at the park even though he was completely aware of how scared of heights she was. “Stop stressing about this, Charlotte. You’ll be fine.” Henry reassured her. “Look Hen’ I know you might think so but I entirely disagree. I mean what if we get stuck? Even worse, what if it’s upside down? Or what if a villain comes along and decides to attack the coaster for some strange reason?” Charlotte honestly looked like she was ready to pass out and die right then and there. Henry grabbed her hands in an attempt to calm her down. “Look, Charlotte, even if something does happen just remember that your best friend. You know the one who’ll be right beside you? Is a superhero and no matter what happens he won’t let anything harm you. Alright?” He said in a calm, chill, and totally cool tone. “Sidekick.” she corrected. “But alright.” She calmed down after that at least until they were loaded onto their cart on the coaster. “Whatever happens don’t you dare speak of this ever again.” She stated firmly. I won't, I won't.” He lied. She knew it was a lie but decided against arguing it further. The ride started and she clung onto him whilst honestly trembling in fear. Oh god, they were so high up she could cry. As they got through the first few loops and slopes, she started to loosen her grip on him. Maybe this wasn’t so bad? She thought. Shit she thought too soon. They just got to the biggest loop on the ride. She squealed at the sight of it. “Oh god.” she unintentionally said aloud. She grappled on to Henry, clinging to him as if he was her last chance to live. She was like a lost puppy clinging to him. It was honestly kind of cute. He caught himself thinking. He grabbed her back in an attempt to sooth her fears. To silently tell her it’s okay and it’s just an amusement park ride. His attempts were short lived because as their carts started to climb up to the top of the loop, she screamed a scream of bloody murder. He turned his head to whisper in her ear. “You’re going to be okay. It’s going to be okay. Just remember you have me right next to you and no matter the circumstances I would never let anything, or anyone even come close to hurting you Char’.” Oh god why did every damn word that tumbled from his lips directed to me sound so damn romantic. Charlotte liked the thought of him protecting her. It made her feel warm and fuzzy inside. She smiled at his words. It will be okay, God why am I being so damn dramatic, it’s just some stupid roller coaster. It’ll be okay. She repeated to herself one last time for good measure. Until it wasn’t okay. They had just reached the highest part of the loop and it stopped. God why’d it stop? They were stuck upside down with nothing but Charlotte's worries and Henry's comforting words. The thing she feared most would happen, just happened. “Henry, why’d it stop?” she asked fearfully. Honestly hoping she was just hallucinating. “Charlotte it’s okay they probably just had some troubles with the machines. I’m more than sure it will be back up and working shortly.” She tried rationalizing the situation in her head but before she could find herself thinking ‘Yeah Henry’s right.’ She went straight into panic mode. Her heart rate started increasing and it felt as though her throat was closing up. Was she even breathing??? She trembled at the touch of Henry's arms around her. She felt lightheaded like she was about to pass out. “Charlotte? Charlotte?!?!” She heard Henry’s voice, but her vision was starting to blur. She kept trying to catch her breath, but she couldn’t manage it right when it felt like she was about to pass out for reals she felt a soft feeling against her lips. It was Henry’s lips on hers. Oh my God. Did Henry just kiss her? The boy she’s had a crush on since grade school just kissed her??? She certainly has caught her breath now. “Sorry i didn’t mean to make things weird it just looked like you were having a panic and I read somewhere that you know… kissing someone can prevent their panic attack from progress-” she cut him off with a kiss in return. Wow, that caught him off guard. He thought doing that had made her uncomfortable. He leaned into the kiss. She kissed him harder. The few seconds their kiss lasted felt like heaven. Like Charlotte was literally on cloud nine. They both pulled away at the same time, their faces a matching red color. “Wow.” he said, his jaw dropping slightly. She giggled at his reaction. “Suddenly… I’m not so scared anymore.” she perked up. Clearly in a much better mood than when they first got on this stupid ride. Henry smiled a big cheesy grin at her.

They had ended up talking for hours before the ride continued going and they were finally able to get off. The amusement park ended up giving everyone who got stuck on the ride free gift baskets and sincere apologies as they unloaded each person. Once they stepped a little further away from the crowd Charlotte looked up at the sky to notice the sun was already setting. “Hen’, what’s the time?” Charlotte asked curiously. “7:42 pm.” he answered her almost immediately after. Wow it was already that late it felt like they had just gotten onto the ride a little before it came to a halt which needless to say left Charlotte with an even bigger fear of heights than she already had. “Alright I guess we better hurry up and get back to the Man Cave before the others start to worry.” Charlotte stated. “Yeah, you’re right.” Henry added. “I know I am.” Charlotte said with a giggle and a grin on her face.

They were on their way into the elevator at Junk N’ Stuff and Charlotte noticed the fact that they were both a bit nervous to press the elevator button after what just happened, so she went ahead and did it just to get it over with. Obviously, nothing happened, and they both giggled to themselves about the fact they were both so worked up over nothing. As they entered the Man Cave, they both heard a whistle come from Ray. “Wow the two lovebirds are finally back.” he chirped. “What have you two been up to for the past several hours???” Ray cooed at them with a grin on his face. “If you must know we were at the amusement park but ended up taking longer than expected because someone convinced me to go on a roller coaster that got stuck halfway.” Charlotte growled in response. “Oh, so the two lovebirds finally decided to go on their first date?” ray teased “It wasn’t a date!” the two snapped back at the same time. But then they looked at each other with a look that said, ‘Was it?’ “Ohh so something did happen?” Ray smirked. They were about to defend themselves before they heard the elevator ding and they saw Shwoz, Jasper, and Piper all three step out bickering amongst themselves. Then the group started rambling on to Ray, Charlotte, and Henry. Taking the attention off the two for now. But they do still have a few things they need to discuss, though that can wait for another day. They’re happy enough with how things are now.
