Summary
Toji glared at his son, who was sitting quietly at the kitchen table with an empty plate in front of him.
“What have I told you about letting strangers inside? Only Shiu and, uh, that one chick is allowed through those doors aside from us.”
“He let himself in. Satoru lives here.”
Lives… here? Was he a resident of one of the apartments next door? Shiu’s background checks on the place never mentioned the likes of this guy.
“Oh! I see the confusion. You think I’m human. That’s hilarious.” The questionable young man laughed so loud it echoed through the entire house. Toji would not share in such laughter. He stepped forward and shoved the intruder’s back into his fridge, knife at the ready in order to continue making his demands.
‘Not human’ could mean a lot of things if one were crazy enough, but no matter what he was meant to infer from the statement, preventing Megumi from getting caught between them was more important.
