Luz couldn’t sleep not that they expected to tonight. Eda and King could be.. no, and the collector the day of unity it was all their fault. She helped Phil- Belos meet the collector. their found family could be dead and itd be all her fault everyone in the boiling isles could be!. Okay sitting in bed wasn’t helping their spiraling thoughts. she quietly made it out of her room careful not to wake Vee, Willow or her awesome girlfriend, they didn’t deserve any of them..
She found themselves sitting out on the front porch in the rain. Letting it soak their pjs and until her hair was wet and dripping. until they were shivering, her thoughts only worsened. This was all their fault? how could she even live with herself, their girlfriend, her friends they were stuck here away from their homes, families, and who knows if anyone in the boiling isles was okay?, and if they weren’t itd be all her fault they set this all into motion when she helped Belos meet the collector.
Luz was lost in their spiraling thoughts she didn’t even notice the door creak open behind her.
“..Luz?”
a voice called out, it was Hunter, she snapped out of her head turning to look at him standing in the doorway his face shifted to worry. good she was gonna burden him too.. titan knows she had been through way worse and if only-
“Why are you out here alone? titan your soaked”
their thoughts were interrupted again, Hunter kneeled down besider her shivering form.
“Cmon lets get you inside alright”
he helped her to her feet, putting a stable arm around them to keep them upright. She didn’t know why she just couldn’t say a word maybe it was all the guilt. Maybe they just had nothing to say. he walked her inside the water dripped off her onto the floor boards.
“Theres towels in the bathroom right?”
she questioned as he guided them towards the bathroom he had her sit down on the closed toilet seat as he got down the towels and wrapped her up in them. he was rubbed his hands up and down her arms to try to warm her up but they were still shivering teeth chattering. Hunters heart sank, she wished she had woken up sooner before Luz had been out there that long.
“I should get mrs.noced-, Camila, i’m gonna get her okay??”
before Luz could even think to object Hunter was gone and their mom came in worry immediately crossing her face.
“Mija? why would you go out in the rain oh my bebe your shivering”
Camila cradled Luz’s face and brushed back her wet hair.
“Bebe your freezing, im gonna run a warm bath okay? it’ll help warm you up faster”
Camila ran the tub with warm water, she helped her baby out of their soaked clothing and had her sit in the warm water while she fetched them clean dry pajamas. Camila gently washed her child’s hair, Luz closed her eyes for a moment letting the guilt leave her mind as their mother’s gentle hands worked through her hair. Once Camila was done she left giving Luz privacy to change once she was out Camila led them back to her room.
“Your gonna sleep with me tonight okay, don’t worry your safe”
Camila tucked her in the warm blankets before getting in the bed beside her child she kissed their forehead and brushed their damp hair back.
“Sleep now Mija, your exhausted”
Luz sighed listening to her mother her body felt heavy and her eyes wouldnt stay open anymore they didn’t have the energy to think herself into a hole. finally the kid fell into a deep dreamless sleep.
