Alex would never really admit how much it had meant that Erin had apologized. She didn’t need to explain it, she told herself, she was allowed to feel it anyway. She would always remember Erin as her friend and lover, even when she missed her.
Erin, of course, was a little more tentative. Nervous. She knew she had screwed it all up, so when Alex invites her back to her home she’s quick to agree. She’s surprised to see that Alex, now husbandless, has framed so many photos from their time together.
“Alex…”
“I always loved you, Erin, even when you broke my heart…”
