Work Text:
Call it fate. Call it destiny. Call it whatever you want because this was bullshit.
No matter what happens she will never rest.
And she will make sure that she gets free and gets his I guess you can call new friend everything right.
Cassidy, a girl with a fate worse than death, a girl fueled with rage and vengeance, a girl on the hunt for the devilish man that killed her and her friends. She never was the type of person to show much emotion since her death. She would always take out anger on her friends that have lost everything that makes them… well what they were before their deaths. They were pretty mindless zombies to her since they only cared about getting new friends.
“Idiots” she thought of all of them. At least he has a mind of his own even after the cause of death which is very odd because wouldn't he have had brain damage? She doesn’t know
Before her death she was a loving girl with talents like color her favorite animatronic robots which were Freddy and his friends, one of the smartest girls in her class and everyone would try to copy off of her work, she was always behaved from her parents.
Ohh her parents, how she missed them and their love for her before her apparent disappearance.
On her birthday too, the day where she was supposed to be her happiest day and only about her.
She never saw them for a long time.
But not all hope was lost in her eyes.
The time her soul got freed from the evil man’s son, she needed to go back to her parents, she still remembered where they lived. When she got there she saw her dad on the couch with the TV on, looking older with little bits of beard coming out, sleeping, having a tank top white shirt with a bottle of beer half chugged, and his belly… looking big. She was confused at first, but it didn’t matter to her since thankfully he was alive so she checked around the house to find her mother. She never did so she assumed she was at work, afterall she always came late when she was alive.
She was in fact at work.
Except, there was something wrong with her, she looked dead in her eyes, skin a little paler than usual, she looked very skinny and her face looked like it hadn't had a smile in years. She was always a happy mother with a charming, sweet, and a loving smile to many people in her neighborhood of Hurricane. Now from what she sees is a far cry of what was once her mother.
When her mother got into the house and to the living room she looked angry, an emotion Cassidy never thought she would see from her of all people.
“DAVID FUCKING BROOKS WHAT THE HELL IS ALL OF THIS?” she yelled as Cassidy jumped from the sudden response. Her father slowly opened his eyes from the yelling.
“Evelyn?” Her dad was fully awake and his voice sounded raspy.
“You’re home early?”
“Yes, I’m home early and why is the house still a damn mess with you drinking again?” She questioned her tone of anger still showing. From the message Cassidy got it looks this is not the first time that this situation has happened.
“Don’t pretend like I don't do anything in this damn house” Her father yelled back as his beer fell to the floor, some of the liquid dripping out to the carpet floor.
“Of course you don’t do anything when the hell have you ever done anything that you can prove to me that you can be a damn husband?”
After that response her father stood up from the couch and walked up to her and slapped her in the face and her mother fell down “You bitch, since when have you shown me that you can be a good wife.” He spat back as her mother looked up at him with visible tears in her face.
All that Cassidy could do was not move since she felt fear for the first time in a long time. She expected for her family to be happy and was told that when a family member dies they would move and keep going for them. From what she sees it doesn't look like they have moved on.
Her father yelling and hitting her mother at the same time calling her worthless, pathetic, and all of these awful words to her.
Cassidy was tearing up from this; she didn’t want to see this. All she wanted was to be back with her family she once loved and now from what she sees she doesn't know what to think of both of them.
Her mother got up with bone chilling words “WELL MAYBE IF YOU WATCHED CASSIDY BETTER WE WOULDN’T BE IN THIS SITUATION AND SHE’S DEAD BECAUSE OF YOU” her mother responded with malice and every words laced with venom.
Cassidy has seen enough.
She went into her room which was very dark. All of her toys are gone, her room looking like it hasn’t been cleaned in months or even years from all of the dust, some wallpaper of her favorite flowers torn off, and even her bed was covered in dust.
Cassidy sat down with her back against the door. She curled up on her knees and face sobbing. None could hear her misery. With her parents arguing very loudly on the other side of the door.
This wasn’t mom and dads fault for this, it was her fault, she believed as she strayed from her father to Freddy Fazbear's pizza she always wanted to go to. She fell for the trick of the man in the yellow rabbit suit offering her a special prize if she followed him only for that prize to be a death sentence.
No... in fact this was her killer's fault. He started all of this, he killed all of her friends she once loved, she broke this family apart.
Cassidy felt her rage bubbling up inside of her, enough to probably melt herself. After what happened today to her mother and dad, her anger was rekindled like before. She has an opportunity. She would not send the man to hell, she could send to her personal prison of her making, she could destroy him over and over and over again forever. She wouldn’t get bored, after all, torturing your killer would be a fun opportunity to have for any of the killer's victims.
“He took everything from me,” she growled, her eyes blazing with fury. “He will never get away with this.”
She disappeared to get the man that started this.
With her once family split apart now.
------
Cassidy said nothing as this memory was nothing to her anymore.
She used to torture her killer over and over and over again like she wanted to do. Trapping in a security with animatronics of what he used, destroyed, or even controlled for his own gains. Hearing him scream at his son and his old friend that started this company was hilarious to her. Because why wouldn't she? The killer that was horrifying to his victims was now terrified of his victims.
But, after a long time of killing him soo many times she lost count. She got bored of it. She didn't believe it was possible but it is. When the old man told her to rest her soul when Cassidy met him she refused and now she wants to. So she sends him to hell, the place where the monster belongs.
It was over.
She finally has freedom.
Except not the way that she thought.
She was transported to a Virtual Reality game from what she heard from other people, her once vengeful form was now a messy gray haired girl with her skin very pale, and wearing gray fabric clothes of what was colorful before. Then she saw a girl that needed her help but everytime she got closer to her she ran away. After many times of running away and nearly escaping she caught up. She grabbed her broken legs and dragged her to the pool. Only for that girl to be brainded and maybe sent to the hospital.
That was only a few weeks ago.
She still has guilt from doing that.
Now she was still here in this Virtual world with no one except him.
They only met each other a while ago.
When she first met him he was scared and confused about who Cassidy was and where he was.
From what he can remember is he was brought to a secret room of the pizzaplex to play an arcade game that was hidden from everyone called “Balloon World”. Then after that he doesn’t remember anything.
Before that happened she saw him in the pizaplex for unknown reasons and met some girl, named Cassie, crying and alone on her birthday because she had no one with her. The boy comforted her, played games, ate food, and had a great time. They became best friends in the end and she never wanted to lose him. She has someone that cares for her and she couldn’t be anymore happy.
But, the more Cassidy looked at the boy the more familiar he was, his two white stripes of the shirt, his hair, the bandage on his knee (before the bandage on his face), the height, everything almost looked damn similar to her of another person she once knew and was her best friend. Almost an identical twin of her best friend. Except the only differences were that he wasn’t much of a crybaby like the one she knew and the boy was smart, and her best friend was smart but not as smart when it comes to other things.
He was happy… only for that happiness on the same day to be his last.
She watched when she got the chance of escaping the virtual world sometime of his body being overtaken and replaced by some kind of fake version of him. That faker has done horrible things to his body like killing many people when they got too close to the truth. Even one of his best friends, a ‘detective’ of what she can remember, was killed by him.
Cassidy knows who did this to him. It was that damn lady. She was exactly just like what her tormentor did, he was lured in for some kind of prize which was the balloon world arcade and only for that prize to be his demise.
Each death this faker does angers her more and more as most of them were people the boy knew. He now has the girl Cassie left alive.
It has been three years since she was stuck in this virtual world and three years of how her new friend was also stuck here too with a fake version of himself in the real world killing people.
“Gregory” Cassidy spoke his name as she slowly walked up to him, each step of her feet with no shoes touching the solid concrete floor, and each step water came as she got out of a virtual pool.
She just got an idea go get Gregory to the real world. A first step to stopping this nightmare for good.
Gregory looked up at her with a frown, he was always sad. Except, more sadder than usual. I mean who wouldn’t be? He is stuck in this hell while some doppelganger replaced him.
His body isn’t even the same body he knew when he was in the real world, it is now a green mass of the shape of Gregory with coding of 0’s and 1’s appearing all over him like he was glitched.
Well, he is glitched and trapped in here so… Glitchtrapped?
“Y-yeah?” Gregory replied to the drowned girl.
“You have been very quiet for the past few days”
“So?”
Cassidy frowned at that. “Do you want me to keep you company?” she asked with a tone of hope for a yes.
Gregory didn’t know how to react to that since it has been three years since he's been in this damn place and in this virtual prison of his.
He only has her.
Cassidy… not Cassie. Cassidy is all she has now since he doesn’t know where Cassie is.
“Sure”
Cassidy smiled and sat next to Gregory. She is the only one that knows the truth.
They said nothing for a couple of seconds until Cassidy spoke up.
“So, why do you look more sadder than usual, I mean you’re always sad, but this time your frown could reach the floor dumbass.” She smiled ruefully. She hasn’t had a conversation to comfort someone because she was stuck in a slouched bear from the 80’s for years and just got released and after torturing the evil man for more years and now stuck in this virtual world for three years.
Gregory glared at her insult “Because, I just don’t understand why?”
“Why what?”
“Why me? Why did I get myself into this situation? What did I do to deserve this prison? Did I do something bad? Did I deserve this?” Gregory continued on and on of these questions with no answers.
Cassidy didn’t know how to respond as she got closer to him and wrapped an arm around his waist as a way to calm him down.
Gregory didn’t say anything anymore after her silent response of a supposed hug. He wanted to tell her to let go, but didn’t. Why? He bit his inner cheek, in frustration. Annoying him.
“What are you doing?” he grunted, he could feel her other arm wrapped around his waist and doing it tighter.
“Giving you something that you haven’t had since you got here” Cassidy replied.
“You didn’t need to do that you idiot.” He said, frowning at her when she didn’t reply. Gregory thought back at what he said. Maybe that was too rude. He never liked anybody touching him because he felt uncomfortable. But, she was doing it due to him being in a sad state worse than usual.
So he gave a small smile to her. He hasn't had anything nice to him for the past few years, and she just did.
“Thanks for this… I guess” as he leaned in, turned around, wrapping his arms around her waist too. Hugging her a bit while trying to make sure they don’t fall over. His body felt weird yet a warm kind of way, as she was a heater to him because mainly was always cold.
They both stayed like that for a few minutes until Cassidy broke the silence “I think I found the way out.”
Gregory’s head perked up in response. A way out? That’s impossible. Right?
“What do you mean a way out?”
“Well not really a way out for me, but more a way out for you” Cassidy corrected herself.
“Wait, why not you?” Gregory pulled himself off of her hug. Why is she saying there is a way out for him, but not her?
“Because my way out is more complicated than yours. So let’s focus on getting you out here first.”
Gregory wanted to ask more, but he kept that thought aside for now.
“Well what is it?”
The drowned girl went up to him and told him the plan.
------
It was another day of fun for GGY as he just got the preparations for the upcoming Freddy’s performance.
The plan was for the mimic program virus to override the safety protocols as everytime he gets the virus on Freddy the nuisance workers always put him to safe mode to block out the virus.
It was starting to really piss him off. You won’t like it when he gets pissed off. He had to deal with other people who were sticking their noses in places where they didn’t belong. First it was the therapists that kept on talking about the virus program that led back to him, then how he talked to someone with rabbit ears, and what got him to take the out one by one was their lead on the mimic virus program controlling the pizzaplex and the last therapist that he hated the most was her talking about his past of his parents. Then his stupid friend named Tony Becker was getting a lead on him because of his amazing score on arcade games, and how he found out due to Freddy’s help on stalking Tony. Then when Tony wrote that story of him he knew Tony had to die. So he changed the story of him being the wizard's favorite apprentice. Fighting a giant tentacle monster. Then Tony got mad at that. Good. That’s what happens when you don’t get into people’s business. So he told him to meet at the pizaplex for some friends he has with. Tony was hesitant, but accepted, when he led him he put on his bunny suit and stabbed him multiple times in the chest with his accomplice Vanny.
He felt great doing it.
That was a long time ago. Nobody bat an eye on him because of the disappearances that kept happening in Hurricane. Like he was invisible. It was like what one the therapists said ‘you can almost get away with anything while you’re invisible can’t you?’.
He sure can.
Vanny was preparing for the virus to be unleashed to Freddy when he goes to safe mode hoping for the virus to take over the safe mode and for their problems to be solved.
GGY grinned at this. Soon no one will stand in their way. His master will be proud of him. More proud than Vanny since he does most of the work.
He then heard a child giggling to his right in one of the pizzaplex’s private rooms.
GGY turns and sees a shadow of a child waving at him making a gesture to follow him. “Follow me,” the child said. It sounded feminine so it's a girl perhaps.
GGY smiles and has the nearby knife with him to strike her when she’s not looking. He doesn;t have his bunny suit on. Oh what the heck doesn't need the suit now after all nobody will notice.
GGY started walking to the private room. The knife is ready to go through her.
GGY slowly opened the door and walked in “Hello~ I saw you go in here” GGY said.
“Come on out now there is nothing to be afraid of.” GGY talked as hoping for the girl to fall for and come towards him.
But nobody came.
Starting to annoy him “If you wanna play come OUT now I don’t have time for these games” he said as he was losing his temper at this damn girl playing with him.
“I’ll play with you but first you gotta play with me.” the girl replied to him.
GGY was confused but shrugged it off. A little game wouldn’t hurt. He hasn't had any fun for a while with anybody else for a while except with Vanny. He knew once this game finished a body would be his prize.
“Okay then what do you want to play?” He questioned the girl waiting for an answer.
“You see that VR machine thing right there? Put it on and I’ll tell you” the girl explained as GGY looked to his right hoping it’s the girl, but it’s instead a VR helmet attached to a machine.
He’s seen those before as one time a girl went to the hospital for having it on too long. She apparently had the turbo mode or hypertime from what he can remember on infinite. Those fazbear entertainment workers were shit at their job.
“Why?” He asked her in curiosity and suspicion.
“If you want to find me and win then you. will. put it on.” She replied as her voice sounded impatient.
GGY scoffed in response as he went over the VR chair, the knife right next to him in case and placed the helmet on his head to get this over with.
Then the VR screen flashed in front of his red pupil eyes.
GGY looked around to see he was on a beach boardwalk with tons of rides and games surrounding her. Each step he could feel the scape of sand beneath his feet. Music played from speakers attached to wooden poles.
Although he found all of this cool he had a job to do “Alright I have it on so what’s the game you were talking about to get this over with?”
“Go to the waterpark where the many pools are, there is a map right next to you.”
GGY looked right to see the map and the waterpark area thankfully is close to se quickie heads over there to get this over with and kill the damn girl.
He reached the waterpark and went to the nearby pools “Okay I’m here. Now where. Are. YOU '' GGY yelled a bit, he was losing his temper and about to search everywhere to find this girl and give her a painful death for wasting his time.
He got no response.
He was about to yell but heard something behind him. He quickly turned around hoping to be the girl.
It wasn’t
Instead… it was him, another him. Staring back at GGY.
The lookalike gave a death stare directly at him. His fists curled and looked like he had the urge to rip him apart.
Wait, he knows who this is.
GGY laughs.
“Oh… well what a coincidence. I didn’t expect to see you of all people. My weak version of myself.” GGY spat as he then laughed more. This was him. The one where his master and Vanny talked about a few times of what he was in the past. That's why he has these memories of he never encountered before.
“Uh huh sure, I know who you are, you're that faker that replaced me” Gregory spat back in anger.
GGY cackled “Oh we got a little feisty one don’t we?” he teases Gregory.
“Says the one that’s getting impatient to find a little girl” he teased back hoping to get on his nerves.
GGY rolled his eyes at the pathetic comeback in his eyes “Doesn’t matter, I assume you were that girl that took me here.” he giggled maniacally.
“Oh jeez” he couldn’t breath from how hilarious this was “You were talking like a girl? How pathetic of you.” He grinned wider than the grinch. “So why did you bring me here? To tell me that you have the voice of a girl or for me to find my original is a weak version of myself?” GGY said in curiosity and excitement as he hoped for Gregory to reply with a dumb answer.
Instead he didn’t say anything. Gregory just smiled for a bit until he answered his fakers questions.
“Second off No. First off, that wasn’t me. In fact she’s right behind you”
GGY quickly turns around and freezes.
He sees the girl.
Except, something was not right with her, she was wearing grayish fabric that covered her arms and legs, her hands were pale in fact her whole body was pale, green veins lining her face and having twisted black hair.
She looked dead.
The girl's eyes were closed until they popped open, her dark eyes staring directly at GGY.
“What the hell?” GGY said as his voice sounded scared and his body had the urge to run away from this person as she didn’t look natural.
Gregory quietly approached behind GGY and kicked his legs for him to fall over on the concrete floor. GGY groaned as he tried to grab his knife to stab Gregory or the girl, but his heart felt like it skipped a beat only realizing that his knife was in the real world and not the Virtual one.
He tried getting up but the girl quickly grabbed GGY’s ankle and then the other. For some reason excruciating pain shot through the faker’s legs as he screamed out. The girl dragged GGY towards the pool.
“AHHHH! NO! STOP! LET GO OF MEEEEEE!” GGY screamed. For the first time he was terrified, and vulnerable. He tried to kick her to let go, but she was strong enough to make his legs useless and unmovable. He tried to grab onto anything but only grabbed the hands of his original.
Gregory looked directly at GGY in the eyes in anger and his imposter’s eyes in fear. After all of these years his copy can now feel what his victims felt. Fear, powerless, pain, agony, suffering, and death.
“Don’t worry,” Gregory pressed. “Your time is up. Now I am in control.” As he finished his sentence he let go. Gregory waved at him as he watched.
The drowned girl jerked GGY into the pool and deep into the watery depth as he screamed in the water. No one heard him expect her. GGY grabbed at the water around him as the light above him disappeared. Dragged into hell.
-----
As minutes passed, it felt like hours.
Gregory watched as Cassidy rose up from the pool and held what looked like a shape of a VR helmet.
Cassidy got out of the pool.
“Where is he?” Gregory asked.
“Where he belongs: Hell” Her voice sounded sinister, but Gregory showed no fear since he was with her for three years that he got used to her.
Gregory nodded and set eyes on the VR shape. “What is that for?”
Cassidy looked at him in the eyes “Your way out.” She handed him the VR.
Gregory was still wondering. “What about you?” He didn’t want to leave his friend here after she helped him and was about to get out without her.
Cassidy placed a hand on his shoulder. “You will find it. Search around the pizzaplex for specific arcade machines there are three of them.” she explained.
Gregory tilted his head in confusion “W-what? So that’s what’s supposed to free you?”
“It will. You trust me right?”
He paused for a moment and then nodded “I do”
“Good.” she quickly replied.
“But what are they?” As soon as Gregory asked, Cassidy's body was lighting up gold or yellow from what he saw. He shielded his eyes as it got brighter and brighter. As the brightness stopped he looked at her to see she completely changed. Her whole body is different. She didn’t look like the dead drowned girl from before, but instead she looked like a princess.
She pulled Gregory into a hug “My prince, you will guide me, your life, your aim, will save those with soul.”
She grabbed the VR “Before you go… I have something to tell you” she placed it in Gregory’s head “You die, and I’ll personally torment the shit out of you”.
Before Gregory could say anything he disappeared.
The princess disappeared too and was waiting for her prince friend to free her and end the nightmare once and for all.
