Dough - Body/Skin
Crumble - Die

--

I headcanon S'mores Cookie to have sustained an injury as a kid that never properly healed, leaving him disabled. I imagine his hiking sticks are actually crutches, and he can't stand without them. Though, they look like hiking sticks so nobody will make it a big deal.

Chapter 1: Accidents Happen!

Chapter Text

The fire softly crackled, the soft glow of it lighting up the area around. The orange glow was warm, much like the soft smile of the one who started it. Sitting on a log next to the fire was Smore Cookie, softly humming a tune he made up as he went. He was gingerly toasting a marshmallow over his small campfire, getting it crisped yet perfectly soft on the inside, just how he liked it.

He adjusted his cap as he pulled the marshmallow away from the fire, his smile widening a bit more as he saw the toast on the fluffy treat. He glanced to his side, seeing the small hamster curled up in his cup. “Hey, Camper… you hungry, bud..?” He mumbled, gently poking the hamster.

The hamster sat up, holding its hands out as Smore blew on the toasted mallow. After it was properly cooled, the man handed it over to Camper, the hamster greedily swallowing down the treat.

“Yeah, my little hungry boy..” Smore smiled, looking up towards the sky. “We picked a good spot here, eh..?” The Canadian cookie mumbled to himself, eyes twinkling at the sight of the stars.

“You know, Camper Mug… I think you and our friend Cannoli’s fish would get along. What's it's name again..? Why, I can't remember… I'll have to ask her next time I see her. I really do hope that the bottle she keeps it in is only for when she's on a trip.” He murmured, looking back down at the hamster.

Smore let out a soft “oh!”, as if he had a thought. He reached into his bag, shuffling through it for quite a while before his smile faltered slightly.

“...hm… Camper, do you know where my lantern went..? I reckon we need more firewood…”

Camper replied only in satisfied squeaks, still munching on the marshmallow he was handed. Smore’s smile returned once again as he saw his hamster’s bliss. “I'm glad you like it, buddy… oh, I remember where the lantern is.. I gave it to that child, the one with the mangosteen hat. Oh dear, I do hope that little one is okay… She was all by herself..” he frowned, putting a hand on his cheek and turning his head in slight worry.

“Alright, come along Camper… We should go find her, make sure she's alright.” He firmly nodded, standing up and sliding the mug his hamster rested in into his backpack’s pocket. He crouched down and tossed a bit of dirt onto the fire, watching it go out. Quickly, the area around dimmed, almost to entire darkness.

“See, we can still see… the stars are helping us see… oh, Camper, have I ever told you about the cookie of the moon?” He chuckled, his mind wandering a bit. His soft voice filled the forest for a while, though his words carried great meaning as he told the tale.

“The moon wasn't quite baked like the rest of us, you know..? We were created by witches, but she was created by wizards. It's just a fairy tale, yet I can't help but wish I could see her myself. Thank her for lighting up the night sky… My mother told me this story when I was very young… and then… she..” Smore trailed off, his smile not leaving his face, but his eyes still holding faint grief. “Well, I don't actually recall much… I remember we fell. It's odd, I recall seeing a cookie come from the moon and reach out to me and my mother before I fainted… but I might have been seeing things.”

He wandered for a while, his hiking sticks helping him maintain his balance. Unbeknownst to many, his hiking sticks were like crutches to him. Without them, he'd be unable to walk properly.

He softly shifted to check his bag, seeing the hamster still in his cup. Once he saw the hamster, he turned forward yet again, continuing to walk. He pondered for a while, lost in his own thoughts. He was walking along a hillside trail, keeping his eyes on the ground in front of him.

Smore sighed, setting down his backpack for a moment, stretching slightly. He took a step back to maintain his balance.

The soft dirt crumbled beneath his boots, causing him to lose his balance. He yelped slightly, grasping at the air in front of him in a sour attempt to regain his balance.

Before he knew it, he had let go of his hiking sticks. Without them, he fell fully backwards, winding himself immediately as his back slammed onto the floor. Before he could catch a breath, he already had started rolling, his hat yanked off by a root. In the moment, he managed to remember everything he was taught, curling himself up in a ball to protect his vitals.

He tumbled for a while, before his fall quickly slowed, rolling out onto the flat forest floor. He spread all his limbs out as his fall ended, catching his breath. There was minimal jam spilled, but his dough was definitely going to be bruised.

“...oh dear…” he mumbled, seemingly unphased by the fall. He wasn't smiling, but he didn't seem to be in distress.

He gently glanced around, before attempting to stand up. Though without a way of supporting himself, he ended up falling over again and again. He finally sighed, sitting down with his legs to his side.

“Alright.. I have a distress signal hooked to my hat.” He mumbled, reaching up to his hat, before realizing it was not atop his head. “...well that's a predicament..” He said. “No backpack… no hat… no hiking sticks.” He looked around once again.

“...I'm sure someone will come by soon, this will all be okay.” He smiled, returning to humming. He reached into his pocket, pulling out a small notepad. He began to gently sketch his surroundings, to the best of his ability. He tried to draw what he saw, even if it wasn't very much.

He glanced up at the tall hill he fell from, trying to catch sight of his backpack, though unable due to the height. “Camper? Can you hear me?” He calls, his voice not reaching very far due to its mumbly nature.

He spent the time he sat there thinking of the similar experience he went through when he was younger, sitting there laid upon his mother. They had been seeing the stars together, as they did every weekend since he was 3.

The railing had broken as he and his mother leaned upon it, sending them both tumbling down. His mother had used herself as a shield, protecting him from most harm. She had hit herself hard upon the ground. Smore shuddered at the memory, unable to shake the crunching sound out of his head. He gently massaged the scar on his legs as he was recalling as much as he could of the moment.

He glanced up at the moon, a longing feeling deep inside of him. “The moon… perhaps the lady of the moon can see me now…” he smiled.

He yawned slightly, eyeing the sky above. He laid back a bit, a soft smile overtaking him as he began to doze off. He was comfortable in the grass, feeling himself to be one with nature. It was his favourite pastime. He drifted off as he listened to the leaves rustle, unaware of the eyes watching him.
