Chapter Text
``The reason why Watchers rank higher than Gods,`` Sentiq trilled, looking up at the starless sky of the End, ``is because Gods are restrained to one single world, one single universe.``
It looked down at the saved player, smiling slightly. It could see the saved player was unnerved, but also curious, so it continued.
``While us watchers are not. Think of it as a mirror. When a mirror cracks, what happens?``
The saved one glanced around for a moment as though looking for the answer, before looking back at the Watcher. ``Uhm.. it shatters..?``
``Well, yes,`` Sentiq said, turning back to look at the sky. ``But it also breaks into more mirrors. Some shards of the mirror are bigger than others. But they can still be broken again, creating even more mirrors. It’s the same thing with universes.``
The saved one’s eyes darted between the Watcher and the main island. ``... Why are you telling me this..?``
``Because, saved one, it will soon be your turn to go through these mirrors, these universes. But that is not my job.`` Sentiq smiled at the fear in the saved one’s eyes.
``Soon, you’ll be one of us.``

Grian stared at the Rift, as though expecting it to suddenly turn into a pear. Nothing happened, however, and he sighed. It was late, he was tired. But he had to consantly wa- ..keep an eye on the Rift. He felt like it, at least.
A voice called his name in the distance, Grian’s wing ears twitching as he looked up towards the sound.
``..ian? Grian??``
It was Zedaph- a voice he wasn’t expecting, but was glad to hear- they always had some fun shenanigans to get up to.
Except the sheep hybrid’s expression once they made eye contact made his smile drop.
``It’s Pearl and BDubs. The two are freaking out.`` Zedaph said quietly for some reason, ear flicking at he twiddled with their thumbs.
The Moon Goddess and the Sun God. This wasn’t going to be good. ``Where are they?``
``Uh- Spawn, last I checked.``
Grian hesitated between keeping an eye on the rift or seeing what was going on. He then sighed. ``Let’s go then.`` And he was off in a second.
Zedaph followed close behind him, concern etched on their face. Grian kept his focus ahead though.
Dread immediately filled him once he saw the two.
It wasn’t just their Sun and Moon powers freaking out.
Pearl was struggling to keep her watcher eyes closed, and BDubs was struggling to stick to one pair of ears. Both of them were crying, clearly overwhelmed,
And it was Grian’s fault.
