Felix POV
It was Christmas Eve when it happened. The temperature had dropped to the point the grass outside was now white and crispy with frost. I could see my own breath when I was outside and the tip of my nose was a permanent shade of pink from the cold weather.
I never thought that my crush on Hyunjin would ever turn into anything. For years I had admired him from afar. Sure externally he is beautiful, I am pretty sure his face has been carved by angels, he is truly blessed with good looks but that isn’t everything. Internally, his soul, is just as beautiful if not more so. His kind heart and loyalty to those he cares about is unmatched, sure the guys always refer to me as sunshine but I know the true beaming light is Hyunjin, no one could even come close.
I couldn’t tell him how I really felt, I couldn’t share with him that I dreamt about him most nights. I couldn’t share with him that being in his embrace when he hugged me and held me close made my heart skip a beat. I couldn’t share with him that if he didn’t smile at me for even a single day I felt like my heart was being ripped into two. At least that’s what I thought. I thought he would never feel the same way but the mistletoe changed everything. Christmas was after all my favourite season.
The alcohol was flowing and everyone was filled with nothing but joy and a true sense of relaxation. It was rare that all the members would have the same day off let alone on Christmas Eve so we very much intended on making the most of it. I was just chatting away to Changbin when I watched Jisung stumbling about with a glass of mulled wine in his hand.
“Having fun Binnie?”
“Of course Lixie but I am worried about Hannie”
“Oh how come?”
“You and I both know he doesn’t handle his drink well and if he’s not careful he’s going to-“ as if on queue I watched in almost slow motion as Hyunjin was unfortunate enough to cross a clumsy Jisung’s path. His once pristine Versace jumper now covered in the deep red of the mulled wine that had been spilled onto him.
“Well guess that’s this jumper ruined”
“Oh my god Jinnie I’m so so sorry!”
“Maybe you should slow down with the mulled wines Hannie”
I handed Hyunjin a cloth which he took gratefully before we realised there was no helping it.
“You can borrow a spare shirt of mine Hyunjinnie come on” I grabbed his hand leading him down the hallway and into my room before opening my wardrobe to retrieve something that would suit him. I was so wrapped up in my task I didn’t even notice that, since we had entered my room, Hyunjin had closed the door behind him and taken off his wine soaked clothes so he was now stood shirtless in my room.
“Ok this should fit you….oh my god” I gasped as I took in the sight almost dropping the shirt I had retrieved for him.
“No just Hyunjin here” he smirked at my reaction before taking in the Christmas decorations in my room.
“Your room looks adorable Lixie, very Christmassy” I blushed at that before handing him the shirt and begging internally that he would just put some clothes on so I could stop blushing like a love struck teenager. It was true my room had been decorated with everything from its own little Christmas tree to some mistletoe hanging from the ceiling which Jinnie seemed to have noticed.
“How many people have you had in here since you decorated Lixie?” He asked eyeing me curiously.
“J-just you, I don’t really tend to like people in my space”
“Oh? So who’s this for?” He asked pointing at the mistletoe above us. I suddenly became aware of our close proximity, the task of getting Hyunjin a fresh shirt now forgotten.
“Well it’s tradition isn’t it? And I love Christmas”
“Oh well it would be rude of us to ignore tradition wouldn’t it?” He smiled at me not breaking eye contact for even a moment as I felt his hand gently stroking my arm.
“It would…I mean what?”
“Can I kiss you Lixie?” He looked at my lips before back at my eyes. For a brief moment I thought maybe he was doing some joke with the other members before I saw the sincerity in his look.
“Yes” I replied smiling as he gently cupped my cheek before pulling me into a kiss.
The kiss started off gentle before becoming slightly more heated as I wrapped my arms around him to pull him closer. My heart shaped lips and his fitted together like jigsaw puzzle pieces. I was desperate for the moment to never end, it felt so right to be in his arms and I couldn’t believe I was actually kissing my longtime crush.
“Hey you two hurry up Chan wants to give us all an early Christmas present!” Minho shouted through the door and I internally swore at his awful timing before reluctantly pulling away from Hyunjin.
He smiled at me gently before kissing me on the cheek and leaving the room. I now loved mistletoe and the festive season even more than I knew possible. They had brought me closer to what I had always wanted, even if it was brief it was the best kiss under the mistletoe I had ever had.
The end.
