‘Shit’ Emily says as she stares at the stick laying at the sink in front of her. Her fists tightly grab the corners of the sink making her knuckles turn white. How could they have been so careless, they never were. They always used protection, yes she was on birth control but just to be safe. Seems like that one time did the trick. One time. Once.
She takes the positive pregnancy test and throws it away. Even though because of her age they didn’t think it would be possible for Emily to get pregnant they still decided to keep it safe. They weren’t in a relationship or even telling anyone about what they were doing. They were just having fun from time to time. They found comfort with each other. Often times after a hard case or when they were just feeling down. None of this was supposed to happen.
She wasn’t supposed to develop feelings for him and she was not supposed to get pregnant with his baby. Aarons baby. She has been fighting such a tough battle lately, trying to contain her feelings for her boss while they were so strong. She couldn’t even look at him without wanting to rip his clothes off. She knew it was wrong, she knew he probably didn’t feel the same way about her. There was no way he wanted this baby, he had Jack he needed to focus on.
But Emily did want this baby, so badly. She always wanted to be a mom but unfortunately she never got the chance, not until now. Right then and there while staring at herself in her bathroom mirror she had made a decision. She would keep this baby no matter what Aaron wanted. She knew she could do it alone, she certainly knew how not to be a mother thanks to Elizabeth.
Now, she desperately wanted this, even is she were to be on her own. Yet, she couldn’t get rid of the image in her head showing her a perfect life. She can see herself living in a gorgeous home, with her beautiful babygirl or babyboy and Aaron is there. Taking care of Jack, her and their baby. The perfect little family.
She was weighing her options. She could either tell Aaron right away or keep it a secret for a while but then she would just be lying to him and hiding a pregnancy is hard. Besides that, she must tell him since he is her boss and he needs to know she is pregnant so they can properly do their jobs and he won’t bring her into unnecessary danger.
No, its better if she just told him. Rip off the bandaid. She walked into the bedroom to grab her phone and texted him.

Aaron looked at his phone as a message came in. He was happy to see Emilys name pop up on his screen. It probably was a bootycall, but at least he could spend more time with her. When they first started this they agreed to no feelings, just sex. Yet Aaron couldn’t help himself. He was feeling something, he knows that wasn’t supposed to happen but look at her. She is gorgeous and so smart. He loved her smile and the way she looked at him. At work, he can’t keep his eyes off of her.
He must admit the text he received wasn’t really like their normal way of contact. Usually it was more of an order like -my place, nine- but he didn’t mind.
Often he imagines him and Emily living together in his house with Jack. He would love to go to sleep and wake up next to her. She makes him feel loved and protected like no-one has done before, not even Haley.
He didn’t have Jack tonight and so he responded to Emily.

Emily was happy he could come tonight although he had no idea that his entire life would completely change forever, whether he wanted to be a part of the baby’s life or not. He would still know that he has another kid out there.
With a big smile Emily grabbed her things to go to work. Her last day there, where everything was normal cause after tonight it would all be different.
