"What is this?" Cloud asked, demandingly. In the empty Shinra training room, Zack was sitting in a corner and the other fellow was sitting about a meter away from her. Cloud asked demandingly, looking at Zack with almost a scowl.
"Limp Bizkit," she stated, without any shame or remorse for how upsetting the music was. "It's my favourite band." She turned the volume up.
"Turn it off," that fellow demanded. "Or play something else."
"Fine." Zack played another song. This time, it was one of those loud and obnoxious songs with the musical instruments clashing together and a man was whining into a microphone. "This is My Chemical Romance. Do you like it?"
By Zack's expression, Cloud now felt a little guilty for being rude about her music. She liked this song, even if it was like mud water instead of tea for Cloud. It was awful, Cloud couldn't never get used to such noise. But Cloud decided he didn't want to be mean this time.
"It's fine, I guess," Cloud lied. If he actually pretended it was fine, it started to become more tolerable. Sometimes lies do become the truth, because some things are only true or false if someone believes they're true, or false. Sometimes you can establish your own reality.
"That's great!" Zack said, overjoyed for some reason. She plays more obnoxious noise coming from the tiny speaker in his hand. Over the course of moments, Zack scooches ever so closer to Cloud, until their elbows are almost touching each other. You cannot establish your own reality, the noises are insufferable and Cloud is waiting until the clock strikes a new hour so they can get out of here.
"What do you think?" Zack asks. Cloud hadn't realised a new song was playing.
"It's fine."
"Really? You look so mad," she says, almost impishly, as if she liked that Cloud was annoyed. But of course she didn't, but Cloud thought she was enjoying his misery.
Zack turned off the music and there was silence. Cloud leaned his head back so it touched the cold wall behind him, and he released all the air filling his cheeks. Next to him, Zack was leaning her face closer to Cloud's. Then Zack gave him a peck on the cheek.
"Thanks."
Then Zack attacked his face with kisses! Cloud raised his arms to push away Zack. He projected nothing but irritation with his words, yelling at Zack to get away, but his smile made him a hypocrite. Suddenly, a case of equipment fell over, creating a noise worse than Limp Bitzkit when metal clanged and crashed on the floor.
"Zack, you idiot!"
