Summary
Astarion remembers that he hid above the docks, watching the sunset bleed through billowing clouds of smoke. He looked up, one hand shading his eyes as he gazed upon the sun for perhaps the last time. He remembers vividly the way that Amala’s warding ring glistened on his finger as he willed the sun to burn him, to punish him for what he’d done. But he didn’t burn.
