Work Text:
She was a pretty cool kid. A sweetheart. Hook had only met her the morning of the Rampage match but he found himself spending the entire day with Danhausen and his niece.
Her name was Lilith.
She and her parents were in Montreal on a family vacation and Danhausen insisted Lilith spend the day with her self-proclaimed favorite uncle. Also, a perfect opportunity for Hook to meet some of the Danhausen family.
It was cute to see his boyfriend being an uncle. Taking her to a local park, watching him chase after her, taking her back to the arena to play in the ring, and even giving Lilith piggyback rides when she got tired from all the walking around. The makeup crew was kind enough to paint her face similar to her uncle's. Topping it off with a spiked black rose crown.
She was gorgeous.
Sure, Hook didn’t like the idea of being stuck with babysitting duties while Orange and Danhausen had their match but…
He always had a hard time saying no to his boyfriend.
Giving Lilith a low five before escorting her backstage, Hook took her right to catering where they met with his father.
________
“How’s your pizza, Lilly?” Taz asked before taking a bite out of his own. Hook was still munching away on his second bite.
They got a tomato pie because it reminded Lilly of blood. She practically demanded fruit punch as well. After dealing with Danhausen and his strange ways for the past year, neither of the men was phased.
“Least she’s eating.” Hook thought with a quick shrug before bringing the pie to their table.
“Splendid!” She cheered before grabbing her second slice. She was a small girl but, boy, did she have a big appetite. “Lillyhausen thought Hook ate nothing but chips.”
“No, baby,” That earned a chuckle from her uncle’s lover. “I eat a lot more than just chips.”
“Did you have a fun time with the guys today, sweetie?” Taz asked, leaning closer to her. She nodded with a wide grin. He sat between them while Hook’s back was to the entrance and Lilly was at the other end. “That’s great. Finish your pizza and then we can get you some ice cream.”
“Hopefully soft served,” Hook’s soft smile was now replaced with a mischievous smirk. “Like you.” Letting out another chuckle before receiving a glare from his father. It was rare to see his father so welcoming and nice to people he just met. Usually, he was on guard and had an attitude. Taz would take it to the grave before admitting he was a sucker for kids.
“You weren’t this cute at that age.” Pointing to Lilly before resting his hand on his son’s shoulder. “Don’t be jealous.”
“And still you call me handsome more than my fans and boyfriend do.” Hook thought he had won the teasing battle before Lilly went in for the kill with her question.
“When are Hook and unclehausen getting married?”
That made both men silent. Looking at the child with wide eyes. Hook thought he misheard her before her next question.
“Are you two already married?!” She asked with loads more excitement, moving to the edge of her seat to hear the answer she hoped for.
“No, honey, they’re not married.” Taz was quick to step in as his son just stayed frozen. “You’re not, right?” He almost growled when he turned to the young man. Furious at the possibility his son ran off and eloped. Luckily Hook shook his head almost frantically.
“But doesn’t Hook love unclehausen?” Lilly tilted her head in confusion but her eyes filled with worry.
“Crazy about him.” He answered without hesitation. “And D loves me too but…we’ve only been together for a year, Lil.”
“That long?!” She gasped. Obviously, unaware and too innocent to know that for many people a year wasn’t enough time to decide on whether or not they wanted to spend the rest of their lives with someone.
“Some may say too long without a ring~.” Great. Now it went from awkward to rage. Hook could hear his smirk.
Wheeler Fucking Yuta.
“Hi, Lilly! Remember me?” Hook turned to see the bastard behind him. A fake smile smeared across his face. Oh, how Hook wanted to puke. Yuta didn’t care about Lilly. He was only using her to get under Hook’s skin like all the previous pathetic attempts he made.
Lilly looked even more confused than before. She didn’t recognize the man talking to them. That almost made Hook smirk. Something about Yuta not being important enough to remember brought a sense of pride to Hook. Something about Hook being more important to Lilly than Yuta brought somewhat joy to his heart.
“Well, the last time you saw me was like…two? Three years ago?” Still no answer from Lilly. “You know before I moved on to bigger and better things?” His eyes met with Hook’s. “Wish I could say the same thing about your uncle’s love life.” That shit-eating grin was about to cause his teeth to be knocked out by Hook before Taz firmly held him back by his shoulder.
“You know the rules.” Taz began to whisper in his son’s ear. “We don’t fight in front of kids unless we’re getting paid or there’s danger and this little shit ain’t no danger!” Taz and Hook were tough guys but still gentlemen. And gentlemen did not fight in front of children unless it was to protect them or of they were performing.
“Then again, even I didn’t take you, Hook, as someone who would willingly marry into the Addams Family .” That same. Shit eating. Grin.
“Dad.” Hook gave Taz’s queue.
Taz didn’t need to be told a second time. That was all it took for the commentator to stand up and gently grasp Lilly’s wrist. “Hey, honey, why don’t we go get that ice cream I promised?”
“But Lillyhausen hasn’t finished her pizza yet.” She said as she got up from the table, beginning to walk away.
“Hook’ll finish it for ya.” He said quickly, hurrying out of catering and going god knows where. As long as she was far away from madness about to go down.
“Bye, Lilly!” Yuta waved, turning his back on Hook.
Big mistake.
“Cute kid.” Watched the two leave before his colors came out once more.
“Even though she looks just like her creepy ass un—!”
Grabbing Yuta by the back of his neck and the hem of his shirt, Hook slammed the taunting prick face first into the half-eaten tomato pie. He delivered a few harsh bows to the kidneys before pulling his head back by the hair. “I don’t give a shit what you do to me.” Snarling through gritted teeth, he acted like a lion protecting his cub and mate. “But if anything happens to D or Lilly …I’ll make you bleed worse than Mox ever could.” He threw the older man to the concrete floor before walking off in search of Lilly.
