Work Text:
Pavel has his head on the table. He's trying his best to keep himself from hitting it with his forehead.
He really shouldn't have been as vocal about his hatred over that song.
It's an old Earth song, associated with the Christmas holiday. Pavel is not unfamiliar with it, as he celebrated many Christmases with his family back in Russia.
It's just. This stupid song. He hates it more than anything right now, and the fact that Scotty is half-shouting it half-playing it on his bagpipes is a little grating.
Nyota's joined in by now, and if weren't for the fact that he hates the song, he would be happily listening.
He raises his head and looks at the two of them, who have interrupted his and Hikaru's card game. Spock and Kirk are on the other side of the room in the middle of a chess game while McCoy is standing between them, arms crossed. Kirk is grinning at them and Spock has an eyebrow raised.
Nyota moves over to Hikaru, grabbing his hands and pulling him up into a standing position. He offers Pavel a sympathetic smile, but any effect that it could have made is lost as Hikaru joins in on the singing. He lets Nyota lead him into a dance and soon they're moving across the room.
A few other crewmembers have joined in on the fun, and for a second, it looks like McCoy is singing along.
It'd be nice if he didn't hate the song this much.
He places his head on the table again, resisting an urge to laugh at the absurdity.
