   Summary

   Moiraine, a wealthy noble woman, lives under the thumb of her half-brother who only sees her as a pawn to further his political power. One fateful night derails the course of her life completely, and she finds herself swept into the world of a vampire coven led by none other than Siuan Sanche.

   Siuan has newly come into her position as leader of the coven and is realizing that she may have to sacrifice her humanity to hold onto power when she's surrounded by people who would love nothing more than to take it from her. However, the coven's newest initiate has caught her eye - rather inconveniently, if you ask her.
