Summary
There’s a girl, sitting in the middle of the wide church floor, littered with debris. Her white skirts are splayed out around her. Her hair is long, black, gorgeous. Shining golden in the daylight. Her dark skin is rich, glittering like the most precious of gems.
“My name’s Dorcas.” She says. “You look lost.”
And- isn’t that the half of it.
Marlene swallows. Fuck. Fuck. Her eyes catch on the gun-metal rings glinting on Dorcas’ long fingers. “You could say that.”
Dorcas hums softly. Her voice is lilting, thick with music. “What’s your biggest sin?”
Or: Marlene McKinnon runs away from home in a shitty truck, meets a girl in an abandoned church who may or may not be a demon, and maybe takes her for a drive.
