“Ow.”
Marina’s first reaction on hitting the snow is simply to lie still. She’d taken up the offer of a winter cabin near a ski resort, choosing not to ski at all, although the snow still occasionally had lead to her slipping and, in this case, falling.
“Are you alright?”
The question comes from above, Jodi’s golden blonde hair and soft blue eyes making her seem almost like an angel even as Marina sat up slowly, then pushed back to her feet, smiling slightly and shrugging, her voice soft even as she signed her answer.
“Fine, just sore.”
Jodi smirks then and Marina wonders, all over again, why the hell Bette had insisted she stayed when she had also given Jodi the winter cabin. Then Jodi’s arm wraps around her, leading her indoors and she knows. She is lonely quite often but no longer happy as a captive wife or lover, Jodi and her sweetly free ways will keep her company without setting expectations on her.
