Chapter Text

Hunk and lance were walking around the market. They were getting things that the ship needed. Lance was happy because he finally got to get off that castle! It feels like a cage sometimes. Everyone always says he’s annoying and it feels like no one cares about him. He sometimes thinks, no there's no way they all love me , but he still feels like no one cares.

“Alrighty.” Hunk says as he lifts the big bag of things they got,”time to get back to the castle”

“Ok man lets gooo” 

ughh. Lance doesn't want to go back. It feels like they just left.He just wants a few more minutes! Maybee

“Hunk buddy it seems like I left my…” Lance looks around and says the first thing he sees,”hat!”

Hunk looks at him confused,”but you don't wear hats?”

“I uh do because I bought it! and forgot to pick it up after” Lance nervously chuckles."silly me! so i'm gonna go get it brb!”

Lance sprints away leaving a confused hunk

“Weird” Hunk says and he walks to the castle

Lance knows it's kinda weird doing this but he thinks if someone was in a cage and was let out for a bit but then had to go back they'd want to stay out of their cage. And to lance the castle was a cage so he starts to think he's a bit justified.

He walks over to the alien bathrooms and walks inside.

Ughhhhhhhhhhhh! I feel soo bad for not wanting to be there! I mean their friends and I love them. So I shouldn't treat them this way just because I'm a little sad. And it is true all those things they say about  me. I am annoying. And stupid. But just because it's true does not change the fact it still hurts 

Lance looks in the mirror and to no surprise he's crying. He wipes his tears and turns around and sees a guy behind him which makes him jolt

“Oh sorry about that. Didn't mean to scare you.” the man laughs." I just wanted to see if you're alright. You were crying”

Oh he just concerned about him

”im fine just um” Lance starts crying. He can't do this. Man why is he so emotional today

“If you want to talk we can. Just let it all out” the man says and that seems to be his breaking point for lance because he tells him everything. About his insecurities. About his team. About everything he cried too. A lot. And the man listened. And comforted him. It felt nice. Someone caring about him.

“Here,” the man takes out a cookie,”take this. I hope this helps with the problems you have” the man offers a smile and walk away

What a nice man!

Lance walks out the bathroom and towards the ship. Maybe it won't be so bad now that he has let his feelings out. 

He looks down at the cookie and takes a bite

Wow! This cookie is amazing!

He eat the whole thing right then and there

He walks in the castle and goes where everyone is, which is the table.

“Hello did you miss me” he says with a smirk but it seems no one did miss him from the groans that he hears

Everyone gives their greetings to him and he sits down to eat his goo. He sits there listening to everyones conversations. He's content right now. At least they're happy.

“Hey lance did you get that hat of yours” Hunk says 

Oh Lance had forgotten about that 

“No”

Huh?!he didn't mean to say that

“Huh but you said you bought a hat” hunk said curiously 

“I lied” Lance slammed his mouth shut. What is going on!

“I-i didn't mean to say that” lance is starting to panic. What's happening

Allura and Coran started whispering and then Coran turned to Lance,“Lance ..have you eaten anything that had green spots?”

Huh now that he think of it his cookie had green spots

“Uhh yeah is that..bad?

Coran looked worried,”it's a plant. It will make you tell the truth for a short time. It is very hard to get”

Now Lance is really panicking. He has a lot of secrets he doesn't want spilled. First his sadness he doesn't want them to worry about him. Second he kinda has a little crush and does not want him to find out

“What was it that you ate?” Allura asks

“Uh a cookie” and man! that cookie was so good

“Does it have something it came in?” Allura asks

“Yeah uhh,” Lance gets it out of his pocket and walks over to Allura.” here”

Allura inspects it for a bit before touching the bride of her nose

“Lance did you know there was a note in here”

A note?

“A note?Let me see” lance says as he takes it out of Alluras hand

 Here is a truth spell to help you with your family problems it wears off between a day and a week

-mystery man

man i really am an idiot!

“Heh turns out it said it was a truth cookie…..”

Allura looks mad. Real mad

Oops

“Lance, this is very troublesome for us! If someone catches you all our secrets could be spilled!”

“Yeah lance..” Hunk says

“Well, It wears off between a day and a week!! So…it could be over soon” Lance cant believe hes caused more problems for them

”yeah could’! Ugh you're such an idiot! Why can't you take anything seriously? ever!” Allura yells

Shiro nods his head,“She's not wrong lance. You could try to be more responsible” more responsible? He tries his best. No one understands because no one bothers to care. No one.

Lance looks down,“Sorry..” 

“Sorry” isn't enough Lance! We could be in big trouble” pidge says

“I'll just..try not to talk ok? So can I go to bed now?” lance says

“Fine.” Allura says and lance feels like this isn't the end of the discussion 

“Goodnight” lance says to everyone and walks away to his room

Lance doesn't understand. Why is he so stupid. He wished he wasn't. He wished someone cared about him. He wished he was happy. He wished he wanted to be alive. But he doesn't. He feels so upset right now. He just wants release. Something that can make him feel just the tiniest bit happier. Maybe he could

Lance looks at his drawer and takes out Keiths knife(from when he took it to annoy him) and pulls his sleeves up. He puts the knife over his skin cuts. It feels amazing. All he can feel is pain. He cuts himself again and again until there's too many to count.

He goes to the sink in his room and rinses them off. He winces at the sting from the cuts. He wraps the cuts in bandages and then goes to bed.

“Hey lance or should i say seventh wheel” the person snickers,”you know you really are the weakest link. I mean everyone has something useful for the team and you well..are very replaceable. I bet they think you're better off dead! I mean I totally wouldn't be able to handle you in their position. Would Have thrown you off the castle right when you opened your mouth” the person laughs,”just die already. Your really just a waste of space”

Lance wakes up crying. He puts his jacket on, walks out his room and then bumps into someone

Keith.

“Why hello mullet” lance says with a smirk but he doesn't say it normally because of the truth spell

“Hello lance. And I already told you this is not a mullet!”

“Yeah yeah ok mullet man” Keith rolls his eyes and softly smiles. He and Lance then walk to breakfast together and Lance is getting ready for the yelling he is gonna have to endure.

“Good morning,” Lance says nervously, chuckling. Allura and Pidge look over at him angrily.

Lance sighs

“Good morning lance, Keith,” Shiro says. Keith smiles and sits down lance follows after him

Everyone starts eating their breakfast and then Allura had an announcement 

“Today we are going to do bonding exercises. Meet me there after breakfast.”

Lance groans. He really doesn't want to do this, especially because he has to tell the truth. And that means things he doesn't want to be said might be said

Lance finishes eating and walks to the room to the bonding exercise. When he gets there everyone but Allura and Coran are there. He walks over to Keith and sits beside him

“I soooo don't want to do this” lance exclaims

Allura and Coran walk in room 

“Hello everyone we are doing a bonding exercise called the truth or dare?” Allura turns to Shiro to see if that was right,”I heard it from Shiro and it seems like a very good bonding exercise. Now Shiro may you please continue.”

Shiro nods his head,”alright i know you all already know how to play am i correct?” everyone nods their head,”ok then let's start with Pidge and move our way down.”

The game started off really well. Lance and Keith bickered a lot and everyone had a lot of fun. That was until 

“Ok lance truth or dare?” pidge says smirking

“Truth” Lance says worried since he has to tell the truth

“Who do you think is the coolest out of all of us” pidge says snickering

“Keith” Lance says

Ahhhhhhh this is so embarrassing 

“Really? Why?” Keith says shocked his ears a bit red 

“Because you're so amazing. You're strong and smart unlike me. I have so much respect for you. Back in the garrison I was so jealous of you because you were so much better than me but I could never hate you. I mean you're Keith, you're beautiful,talented,not annoying. To me you light up the room when you walk in. that's why.”

Keith is now as red as a tomato. Pidge and hunk are laughing like crazy. Allura and coran chuckling a bit. Shiro is nudging Keith and teasing him. And lance. Lance is covering his face screaming well internally. He hates this truth thing! Soon Keith is gonna know he has a crush on him heck he might already know. 

“Wow t-thanks lance” Keith says still extremely flustered

“Alrighty!! Hahahaha this was soooo fun but y'know guys im gonna go soo byeeee” lance gets up and runs away 

God! That was so embarrassing! I even let some of my insecurities slip!!

Lance goes to his room and accidently falls asleep for a very long while because when he wakes up its..6:00 pm!! He gets up and walks out his room to see Keith coming out of his room as well

Keith spots him and gets a bit nervous,”oh hi lance. Are you heading to the dining room too?”

“Um yeah heh I actually just woke up” lance says chuckling

Keith nods his head and they start walking to the dinner table. It's awkward the whole walk. They get to the table and sit down. 

Soon everyone gets there and starts eating. Lance is sitting listening to everyones conversations like usual then Shiro turns to him and asks him a question

“Hey Lance, what did you mean earlier when you said “you're not smart” and “annoying”?

Lance knew this question could have been asks but he wished it wasn't

“It means im not smart and im annoying” lance really’s in to deep now 

Shiro looks concerned “But you're not. Why would you think that?”

“Because I am. I'm the weakest out of everyone. If I died it wouldn't make a difference you could just get a new blue paladin. And I'm annoying to everyone. I should just die to get out of everyones hair. I mean everyone always says “shut up lance” or “not now lance” i know i'm a nuisance.”

“W-what lance that's not true, we all care for you a lot. You're not annoying and we don't want you dead!”

“I'm just gonna go to my room..” lance gets up and walks away

He gets up and goes to his room

Ugh. talking about it made me remember.  Im such an idiot

Lance goes over to his bed and lays down crying in his pillow

Meanwhile..

“Does Lance really think that?” pidge says with tears in her eyes

“I-i can't believe..I didn't know he felt this way! I'm such a bad best friend” hunk says

Pidge has a shocked face “i-is this my fault!” 

“No Pidge. It is everyone's fault. We treat Lance terribly. We need to say sorry and show him we care,"Shiro states. Everyone nods their head.

“Also i don't think he should be left alone right now”

“I'll go” Keith says everyone turns to him

“Ok you go Keith. Please make sure he's okay and that he's loved” Shiro says

“I will, don't worry” Keith softly smiles walks towards lances room

Chapter Text

Knock knock 

“Lance? Can you let me in?”

Huh? Keith? Why is he here..? Maybe he came here because he..cares about me

He doesn't. Who would care about you?

But then why would he come to my door?

It probably because he wants to yell at you for leaving 

Lance goes and lets Keith in. Keith just stares at him before he walks in

“Um..so do you want to talk about it?” Keith asks as he sits on his bed and Lance thinks. Should he?

“I promise I wont judge. Promise. “ Keith looks at Lance with such warm eyes it makes Lance feel like he could just tell Keith everything. So he does.

“I always feel sad. I feel no one loves me and I'm just an annoying nuisance. Nobody wants me here, I'm just a waste of space. I feel no one listens when I talk. Like they ignore me. I feel like only Coran cares about me..I just.. I hate my life!! What's the point! To suffer! To only be happy sometimes!!!” Lance takes a deep breath,”tell me Keith do you ever want to die. But you want to live. Because I want to live and die. I feel no one would care anyway. I want to have dreams. I want to have friends. I kinda feel a hole in my chest. I just want to be cared for. Someone to love me. Not to think I'm..annoying.”

Keith sits there thinking. What do I say! I'm so bad at this stuff

“Lance. I know it might feel this way but this whole ship cares about you. We are so so sorry. We are the worst. I- We love you and I'm sorry. I'm an asshole. So go ahead and be mad at me okay? You don't need to forgive me. I'll understand. I've called you such mean things. And even if it wasn't my intention it was still wrong. I'm sorry.”

Lances eyes widen. He starts crying. He goes up to Keith and hugs him. Keith’s a bit tense at first but hugs him back. Keith pats his back up and down and whispers 'it's okay’ until lance stops crying. Then Lance and him sit down in the room all day talking,sleeping, and watching tv. Soon night time comes and Lance decides to skip dinner so Keith says he will too. They fell asleep together that night.

Lance wakes up and looks at his clock to see what times it is

Huh why am I so warm? Wait is that!-

Keith's body is wrapped around lance. And lance. Lance ‘has a crush on a keith’ Lance. Is blushing. Hard. He totally forgot about last night. 

Keith moves a bit before opening his eyes. His eyes go wide and he sits up. Lance and him stare at each other before keith gets up

“Oh um i'm sorry. I didn't mean to fall asleep here.” Keith says with his face red as well

“O-oh!! It okay allll good! Hahaha ha..” they stare at each other in awkward silence..again

“Well i'll just-uh go” Keith gets up and walks out the door

Lance sits on his bed. Before it hits him. He slept with Keith!! Keith Kogane! The hottie with the mullet! His crush!!!!

Lance can't believe this. He's pacing back and forth in his room before. Lance smells his shirt! Ahhhhhhhhhh!! It smells like Keith. Lance sniffs it again until

This is so weird of me!! Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!! I love him. Loveeee. Lovee. Love. Love.

Lance giggles. He brushes his teeth and walks out of his room for breakfast. While he's walking he comes to a halt. He just remembered everything that happened yesterday. And suddenly he doesn't want to have breakfast anymore. He thinks about turning back. And decides to. Because he can't deal with anything right now so he walks back to his room

Lance opens his door and sits down thinking about what he should do. He looks over on his desk and sees a book. He picks it up and starts reading it. Lance has always loved reading. It's so calming for him. He reads it for a while before he gets up to shower. He gets his towel and gets in

His cuts sting when the water hits them

Lance gets done with his shower and gets clean clothes on. He goes and sits in his bed. He thinks maybe he should take another nap but decides not to. He looks over at his desk and opens it to Keith’s knife. It makes his heart beat. Not because it's Keith's but because it reminds him of when he cut himself.

Lance feels that he should probably give this back to Keith. But then he thinks about how he is going to cut himself without it. I mean it's not like he wants to right now..but what if he wants to and can’t. So he just gonna keep it just in case

He gets up out of his bed and peeks out his door. He doesn't see anyone so he goes out of his room for a glass of water. What he did not expect is pidge running up to him giving him the biggest hug

“I'm sorry!! I'm so sorry! I'm the worst!! I shouldn't have said those things about you!” she screams

“Its okay-”

“Don't you dare say you're sorry!! I'm the one who's in the wrong. You don't have to say anything. Or forgive me. I care about you so much! And never want you to die!...y-you're like a brother to me. I love you.” Pidge says before she walks away

Lance stands there in shock then he smiles. He gets his glass of water and goes to his room. He drinks it and decides he will fall asleep now. He sleeps thinking about what Pidge and Keith said. Do they care about him?

Chapter Text

Lance gets up in the afternoon and looks in his mirror for confidence. Confidence in what you may ask? To talk to everyone,to apologize. He feels bad how he is making everyone feel like they need to apologize for his insecurities and stupidness. 

He walks out his door to the living room. But then he sees everyones there already. 

Huh? What are they doing here? Are they trying not to hang out with me? 

Lance breathes in and walks in where everyone is.

“Hey everyone, I  was wondering if we could talk?” Lance says nervous

Everyone nods.

Lance looks down,”listen i'm sorry for being such a nuisance. I got this stupid truth spell and now you all think you have to apologize to me when it's my fault for being a dumbass.”

Shiro shakes his head,”No lance you don't need to apologize. Please don't” Shiro says worriedly.

All of them nodded their heads,”Listen Lance, we actually wanted to talk to you too.” Coran explained,”can we?”.

Lance was confused but nodded his head.

They each looked at eachother.

“We are concerned for you and want to see if we could make you feel better.” Shiro says 

Hunk nods,” We promise not to ignore you anymore or anything. We want to just hang, We don't need to think at all. It can just be us chilling.” 

Lance looks up at all of them and smiles. He loves them. 

Too bad they have to hang out with a dumbass like me.

“Lance?” Keith says concerningly.

“Oh um sorry” He smiles up at them, ”for sure guys let's do it!”

Lance hangs out with them all the time now. They all have sleepovers with him and he's happy? He thinks. But he gets this feeling of sadness when he should clearly be happy. All of his space family hang out with him and actually talk to him. So why does he still feel stupid and dumb all of the time?

He's sitting on his bed thinking about all this when he hears someone knock on his door.

“Come in!!” he yells

Pidge walks in and sits on his bed, ”hey I was wondering if the truth spell has worn off yet?”

“No not yet…but it's got to be soon because it's been 6 days since it happened and the mystery man said it will wear off in a week.” Lance says. He was tired of this spell. There were plenty of embarrassing things that happened to him. He even told Keith he was hot!

Everyone was training in the training room but Lance was getting quite distracted from staring at Keith. He just looked too cool. And hot. 

“Hey lance watcha looking at?” Hunk asked.

“Keith” he responded immediately.

“Why?....” Hunk said confused while Lance was panicking.

“Because he's hot” Lance says emphasis on hot. And now everyone is looking at him and Keith looks over at him with his whole face looking like a tomato.

Lance is so embarrassed. He needs to get out of here.

“Well I'm leaving now!” he says rushing out of there.

He hates this truth spell.

Pidge looks at him nervously, ”Lance..I've been meaning to ask, you've seemed kinda. I don't know. Down lately, are you okay?”

“Not really,” Lance says. He doesn't really mind her asking. He meant to tell someone anyway.

“What's wrong?” Pidge asks softly.

“I feel like everyone hates me even though I know none of you do. I also feel like i'm stupid and an idiot.'' Lance says to her.

Pidge sits and thinks for a second before talking again, ”Have you ever thought you had depression?” she says seriously.

Depression? No he couldn't have that. He's just being dramatic.

“I don't know Pigeon..why do you think so?” Lance says curious why she thinks so.

Pidge pushes her glasses up, ”well what you said sounds like someone with depression. Tell me how you have trouble getting out of bed because you think, ”what's the point?”. Do you ever just feel nothing at all, just like a void?”

He..does feel this way.

“Well i'm no professional but we could get you a test on earth to see and then maybe we can figure it out.” Pidge says.

“Well what would Allura say-”.

“We all have been discussing this a bit so we can land on earth if you want to check?”, Pidge looks down, ”please can you go. For us” She mumbles.

If they want him to go then he’ll do it.

“Of course Pigeon. I mean how could I say no to you” He pats her head and smiles at her.

She smiles back.

“Cool we’ll go to earth tomorrow then.” Pidge says she stands up from Lances bed.

“Well I'll get going lance” she waves goodbye to him and leaves his room. 

Lance sits there thinking. 

What would happen if I did have depression? Will I have to take pills?

Ha needing pills to survive is pathetic.

But Pigeon thinks this is good for me. So it has to be good for me, she wouldn't lie.

Are you sure about that?

I..I don't know but I'm gonna believe in my family. Now go away and leave me alone!!

Lance screams the last part out loud. He hates his contradicting voice. He wished it would leave him alone.

Knock knock 

“Hello Lance, its me Keith”

“Come in” Lance says he wonders what Keith's doing here.

Keith walks in and looks lance nervously, ”wanna have a s-sleep over”

Lance's eyes widen and he nods. 

Why does Keith wanna sleep over with him?

“Can we sleep in your bed?” Keith says ears burnt.

“S-sure man.” Lance says but he internally loses it.

“cool” Keith gets in bed with lance and turns off the light.

“Night” Keith says and turns over in bed.

Well. Lance totally can't sleep now!!

Chapter Text

Keith wakes in a daze and realizes he's not in his own bed.

Wha-

Oh he slept over at lance's last night.

He moves slowly to not wake up lance and gets out of bed. He should probably get to his training before it's too late.

He struts towards the door when he trips and hits Lance's desk. He falls down with a bang and he hopes it doesn't wake lance.

Keith slowly wakes up until he sees something shiny catch his eyes..is that his-

“Keith! Are you alright?! I heard a bang” Lance says looking at Keith.

“Is this my knife?” Keith asks with anger. Because why in the world would lance steal that.

Lance pales, ”K-Keith it's not what you think..”

Keith's face grows in anger, ”What do you mean?! I Mean how could you take this from me!!” 

“I'm…sorry…” Lance says, trying to disappear. He shouldn't have taken Keith's knife. Now Keith will know. No. no. no. 

He can’t know.

Keith looks at lance glaring but quickly shifts to worry when he sees how lance looks. He looks so…scared.

“Listen I'm not mad..well I am mad but I know you have a reason. I mean you wouldn't have taken it out of malice…I just want to understand ", Keith gives Lance a hug and rubs his back.

Lance looks up crying, ”I-i can't tell you..”

“Why?”

“Because I just- I just can’t!!” 

Keith's confused before it dawns on him, He looks at the blade and- There's blood…Lance wouldn't..

“Lance..” 

Lance flinches at his name.

“You're not..cutting yourself are you?”, Keith says worried.

Lance thinks he should try to explain but knows it's useless. He just nodded with tears forming in his eyes.

Keith feels his heart break. He knows Lance was struggling..Everyone did. How did they not know? God he's so stupid.

“L-lance…I- Please. I know you won't be able to just stop so I wont ask that but..Can you come to me when you feel like it? Or someone else like Hunk? Or Shiro?..I can't lose you.”, Keith says on the verge of tears.

Lance looks up at Keith with such hurt in his eyes and hugs Keith, his arms clenching so tightly on Keith's shirt he's scared it will rip.

“O-ok..”, Lance replies quietly.

Keith held Lance in his room until Lance calmed down.

“Thanks Keith.” Lance says lifting himself off Keith.

Keith nods seriously, “anytime.” 

Lance stares before giggling.

“Wha-? What's so funny?”, Keith answers confused.

“Anytime.”, Lance says in a deep voice and mocking Keith's face.

Keith rolls his eyes, “Oh shut up.”, He gently pushes Lance smiling watching Lance giggle. Man. He really loves this boy.

Huh. 

Keith blushes.

“W-well.. I'm gonna go now lance. See you!”, Keith rushes out of there very red and bumps into Shiro.

“Oh sorry.”

Shiro nods at the apology then sees that Keith just came out Lance's room and smirks, “What were you doing in there?”

Keith blushes more, “I was just- talking to lance!” 

Shiro squinted his eyes then shrugs, “just make sure you're using protection.” and walks away.

“WHAT”, Keith exclaims. He and Lance were not doing that! Keith doesn't even know if Lance likes him back…

Keith goes to pidges room asking when they were going to land on earth, “When are we gonna land on earth?”

Pidge pushes her glasses up, “ummm…now! Funny. Go get Lance!”, Keith nods slowly, still not knowing why he has to get Lance. He was just there.

He walks to Lance's room and knocks, “hey. I know I was just here but were about to land on earth.”

Keith flinches a bit when the door opens.

“Alrighty mullet man!”, He smiles, “you should wait on my bed for me..”

Keith's shocked before nodding, he sits on Lance's bed waiting for him.

“...What are you even doing?”

“Face care routine!”

Keith wonders if he looks bad he didn't shower or anything because he slept with Lance yesterday-

“Hey Keithy you're turning a bit red, you okay?”

Keith's snapped out his thoughts of seeing Lance much closer than before, and Keith couldn't help his eyes being drawn to this man's lips.

“Y-yeah. I'm fine.”

“Do you have a fever?”, Lance brings his hand to Keith's forehead, his slim fingers glossing over him. Keith can feel the warmth from his skin. His heart beats so fast he thinks he might explode.

Lance finally takes the hand away, “hm. You don't have a fever but you're still red.”

“Must be the heat.”, Keith says, trying to cover up the real reason his face is red.

He wished Lance loved him like he loves him. He wishes they could go on dates and hold hands and all the cheesy stuff. but..He knows Lance doesn't love him.

“Well, Keith. Let's go. Also..”, Lance looks down, “Ill tell them about that..thing. I promise I will soon, so can you not say anything?”

Keith frowns. He doesn't think that's a good idea. Like at all. But Lance is his weakness.

“Ok..on one condition. You promise me you'll come to me if you feel like cutting.”

Lance nods.

Keith clears his throat, “So. How's that truth spell working for you?”

Lance makes a face, “eh. Well it's weaker, but I still have to tell the truth.”

Keith nods in understanding as they make it to where everyone else is.

When everyone sees them together they smirk (except for some).

Keith grows red and walks over where Shiro's standing.

Shiro smirks and is about to say something when-

“No.”

He can't be embarrassed right now.

Everyone starts getting ready to leave.

“Alright! We've landed on earth!”, Coran says.

Keith nods. They're gonna help Lance.

 On earth everyone first said hi to their families they've missed. Then they decided they did get there at 4am and decided to wait for the doctor/therapist to open. While everyone waited Keith went outside and by the lake watched the sun set.

He really wants Lance to be okay.

“Hey! Keith!” 

Keith turns around seeing Lance running towards him with the sun hitting his face. 

He's beautiful.

Keith's smiles, “yeah?”.

“Nothing…I just wanted to stand here with you”.

Keith blushes as he turns and looks towards the lake. Him and Lance stand there in silence staring at the lake.

Keith turns to Lance, his face shines beautifully but if you look deeper you could see his deep circles under his eyes. Keith wishes he could help Lance more. And apologize for all he's done in the past over and over.

“Lance?”

Lance turns his head, “mhm?” 

“I..I just wanted to say sorry again. But don't say anything back. Because I can tell you'll say something like ‘it's fine’ and it's not. And I hate I know you'll really say it's fine too because of the truth spell I know you mean it. I just wanted you to know. And..”

Now or never?

“I-I love you. And don't have to say anything back-”

“WHATTT”, Lance exclaims, his face red.

“I love you.”, Keith says, looking away at the lake.

“I was going to say it first! No fairrrrr!”, Lance screams.

Huh.

“Wha-?”

Lance grabs Keith's hand, “let's be together. I love you Keith. God! I love you so much.”

Keith's heart beats faster than ever as he looks at Lance's face. He grabs Lance's cheek brushing against it, feeling its smoothness.

They both lean in.
